Chapter 20 Hunting Wild Boars in the Mountains

Lin Chaosheng led the group down the mountain, intending to take them rabbit hunting as well.

But this time, Feifei didn't sense the mountain as usual; instead, it stared motionlessly into the valley.

Lin Chaosheng sensed something was wrong and waved for everyone to stop.

Then he saw Fatty walking towards the valley.

Lin Chaosheng was puzzled, but at the same time he received a signal from Fei Fei.

Feifei told him that there were six large wild boars in the valley over there.

Lin Chaosheng felt a chill run down his spine when he heard it was a wild boar.

But then he thought again that with so many villagers coming along this time, he wouldn't get much by just hunting rabbits.

However, if it's a large wild boar, not only can it be shared with the villagers, but you can also take more home.

So he turned around and followed Fatty.

The villagers behind him were even more puzzled, wondering if Lin Chaosheng had gone mad.

Turn at the foot of the mountain, and you'll find a deep valley on the other side.

That dilapidated valley was eerie and frightening; no one lived there, let alone went hunting.

"Where is he taking us? That valley is the dead end of the world!"

"Yeah, is he trying to get rid of us so he can take more stuff?"

"That place is really eerie, do we really want to go there?"

"What's there to be afraid of? We outnumber them anyway."

So the group grabbed their weapons and followed.

Hearing what everyone said, Lin Shansheng also began to have second thoughts.

"Brother, are we really going to the valley? There's nothing there, is there?" Lin Shansheng looked at the damp and deep valley with extreme fear in his heart.

"Don't be afraid, I'm here for you." Lin Chaosheng patted Lin Shansheng to comfort him. "Today we're going to hunt wild boar."

"Wild boar!?" Lin Shansheng shouted.

A commotion immediately erupted in the crowd.

"Chaosheng, are we going to hunt wild boar today?"

"Are there really wild boars?"

"I've heard wild boars are incredibly ferocious. Can we really catch them?"

People asked questions all at once, and Lin Chaosheng confidently said, "Everyone, please believe me! Today we are going to catch wild boars. If you are scared, you can leave now."

After saying that, he glanced at the villagers and said, "If you're not afraid, come with me. You all have family members waiting for you at home!"

Upon hearing this, half of everyone's hesitation to back out vanished.

Yes, if we catch a wild boar, then the family won't have to go hungry.

"Okay! We'll go with you!"

"Walk!"

"We outnumber them and we're armed. What do we have to fear from that little wild boar?"

The morale of the group was instantly ignited.

Seeing his morale boosted, Lin Chaosheng's heart was also ignited.

As soon as they reached the edge of the valley, Feifei stopped.

It frantically scratched at the muddy ground, trying to tell Lin Chaosheng what was going on here.

Lin Chaosheng gestured for everyone to be quiet, when suddenly a pig's squeal came from the air.

The pig's squeal was amplified infinitely in the valley, scaring the villagers so much that goosebumps rose on their arms.

“This is it!” Lin Chaosheng said, pointing to the terrifying valley.

At the same time, he mentally summoned the system, asking it to provide him with strategies for catching wild boars.

“We’ll split into several groups. One group will dig a pit, a large iron pit three meters deep and four meters wide. Another group will go with Shansheng to get more pitchforks. And another group will go back to the village to get all the homemade guns, as well as some acorn powder and a few bags of fermented sweet potatoes.”

"Hey! Bring a dozen more whistles!" Lin Chaosheng quickly added, remembering something.

After hearing Lin Chaosheng's arrangements, everyone immediately got to work.

Suddenly, Feifei ran over from a distance. Lin Chaosheng sensed something was wrong and immediately began to sense Feifei's presence.

It was Li Erniu and his gang who arrived, leading a large group of men who were looking for him aggressively.

Lin Chaosheng quickly told the people who were digging the pit to be careful, and then hurried home to get the remaining fish and the fish bones and rotten meat that hadn't been processed yesterday.

Then he rummaged through drawers and cabinets and found a bunch of big red flags.

“Take me to the mud pit on the other side of the valley,” Lin Chaosheng ordered Feifei.

Soon, Fei Fei took Lin Chaosheng to that muddy area.

Lin Chaosheng quickly strung the flags together with wooden sticks to encircle the muddy ground.

They then dumped the bag of things they had just brought over onto the ground.

After he finished preparing, he walked forward to the place where the villagers had prepared the traps.

These young men were very strong, and they dug a large pit in no time.

At the same time, Lin Shansheng returned with his men, pushing several carts full of goods.

"Quick! Stick the pitchfork diagonally into the pit. We don't have time, we have to be fast!" Lin Chaosheng said as he jumped into the pit.

With dozens of able-bodied young men working together, it was completed quickly.

Lin Chaosheng then led everyone to put in oak powder and fermented sweet potatoes, and then dug up a few bags of compost and put them in.

"Everyone, I'll go lure the wild boar over in a bit. I'll make the arrangements here now," Lin Chaosheng said seriously to the villagers.

"In a moment, those who know how to use guns, climb up the trees and lie in ambush. Once the wild boars fall in, start shooting. Make sure you hit every single one!"

The villagers nodded solemnly.

“The rest of you will lie in ambush on the trees to the west. One person will stand on one tree, and then each person will blow a whistle,” Lin Chaosheng said, handing out whistles to the remaining people.

"The rest of you, take the remaining pitchforks and nets, divide into four groups and hide in the four corners. Once the wild boar falls in, immediately cover the entire pit with rope nets and tie them to nearby trees."

"Everyone! This battle is extremely difficult. When that wild boar goes berserk, it's even more ferocious than a lion. If it charges at us, hold the pitchfork at an angle and let them charge on their own. If the situation becomes too dangerous, immediately climb a tree!"

After hearing Lin Chaosheng's words, everyone was extremely nervous.

"Alright! Begin the ambush!" Lin Chaosheng gave the order, and everyone quickly scattered.

"Feifei," Lin Chaosheng instructed, "you go and lead Li Erniu's group to another road, back to the mud pit we just came from."

Fatty received the command and immediately started running.

Seeing this, Lin Chaosheng hurriedly ran towards the mud pit he had just been in and quickly climbed up a big tree.

Soon, Lin Chaosheng heard Li Erniu cursing loudly.

"Go to hell, you damn mole! You dare bite me! Don't you dare run away!" Li Erniu shouted, followed by a group of his henchmen.

Upon seeing this, Lin Chaosheng immediately exclaimed, "Oh! Isn't this Second Master? What brings you here?"

Li Erniu searched around for the source of the sound and finally saw Lin Chaosheng in the tree.

"Damn it, I've been looking for you everywhere, and you come out here looking for death!" With that, he raised his hunting rifle, ready to shoot at Lin Chaosheng.

A loud gunshot rang out, and Lin Chaosheng quickly dodged and began blowing the whistle around his neck.

"Boom!"

Li Erniu and his group heard a loud noise coming from the valley and thought it was about to rain heavily.

They looked up at the bright, sunny sky, their heads filled with questions.

Only Lin Chaosheng, who was at a high vantage point, knew that this place was closest to the wild boar's den, and that the wild boars had been startled by the loud noise and whistles.

"Heh, watch out, Li Erniu," Lin Chaosheng muttered under his breath with a sarcastic smile.
