How do we divide this meat?
Someone asked curiously, and Captain Wei glanced at him and said, "Tell me, do you guys have any conscience? Lin Chaosheng went up the mountain alone so that everyone could have meat. In order to kill this black bear, he not only got injured, but his wounds almost got infected. But all you see is black bear meat, you didn't even ask how he was doing or how serious his injuries were!"
The man blushed as Wei spoke, but he was still unconvinced and turned his head away disdainfully, saying, "Nobody forced him to go hunting in the mountains. He was just unlucky enough to run into such a ferocious beast as a black bear. Who can he blame?"
"Isn't that exactly what he's saying? He's only just started to gain some ability and he's already using moral blackmail against everyone. Nobody forced him to do this."
"Maybe he was just greedy and had already spotted the big black bear, wanting to keep it all for himself!"
"Right, otherwise, how could he have just borrowed a gun and gone up the mountain, only to encounter a big black bear? What a coincidence! Don't you even know who in this village would believe that?"
Two men were cricketing nearby, and the women from the village couldn't stand it anymore. Just as they were about to speak, a tall figure rushed over and punched the man closest to him in the face.
He then grabbed another man by the collar and punched him in the chin.
"Are you even human?!"
The person who came was none other than Lin Shansheng.
He had just returned home and was relieved to find that his older brother was alright when someone notified his whole family to come and share the bear meat.
Their family didn't have any particular interest in the black bear. Although it was his brother who killed it, the Lin family didn't want to keep it for themselves; they were content with just getting a share of the meat.
As soon as they walked over, they heard these two bastards saying such disheartening things!
“My older brother is genuinely good to you all. He even takes you hunting in the mountains. You don’t want to go yourself but expect to get something for nothing. How can you be so shameless!”
"Shansheng!" Lin Chaosheng frowned, quickly let go of Liang Mei who was supporting him, and ran over to pull Lin Shansheng up from the man. "Get up quickly, Captain Wei and Village Chief Lü are still here. Do you want to be criticized and denounced?"
Team Leader Wei and Village Chief Lü didn't want to get involved, thinking they should just let Lin Shansheng beat those two beasts to death.
However, given their position and the fact that Lin Chaosheng had spoken, it would be unreasonable for them not to express their opinion.
Village Chief Lü gave Captain Wei a look—Should you speak or should I speak?
Team Leader Wei winked – “I’ve been talking for ages, now you’re done!”
Left with no other option, Village Chief Lü coughed twice in mock disgust and said, "You two have really gone too far! Everyone has witnessed Lin Chaosheng's contributions to the village and the commune!"
"Since you're so dissatisfied, then go home. This black bear isn't for you today!"
The two men immediately protested, angrily saying, "Why shouldn't we get a share? We're from this village too!"
"That's right, I'm not convinced! You're using this to settle personal scores! The village leaders are leading the way in isolating us!"
"Stop spreading these unhealthy ideas!" Lin Chaosheng shouted, his sharp eyes fixed on the two troublemakers. "I, Lin Chaosheng, have never offended either of you, have I? You two look unfamiliar; you're probably not from our village, are you?"
"Yes! They're not from our village; they just arrived last month!"
"I heard they were driven out of their village, and our village took them in because they were pitiful!"
"Get them out! How dare they claim to be from this village!"
"Yes! Kick them out!"
"Get them out!!!"
Village Chief Lü and Team Leader Wei were surprised to find that these two people were actually outsiders, and they loathed them even more.
Team Leader Wei snorted coldly. Since they weren't from this village, he wouldn't hold back.
"Take them out, and throw them back where you found them! If I find any family taking them in or secretly helping them, don't blame us for kicking you all out too!"
Several strong men stepped forward and took the two men away.
After the two men left, the scene instantly returned to silence.
Team Leader Wei then spoke, "According to the rules, Lin Chaosheng is our bear-hunting hero. The black bear's carcass is right in front of everyone. Does anyone have any objections?"
Everyone nodded vigorously, and Captain Wei nodded as well: "According to our rules, we have to give a reward. Whether we kill a tiger or a black bear, we have to give a bonus!"
"What? A bonus?"
The people around immediately started talking amongst themselves: "It seems like there is such a thing, but since this rule was introduced, none of us have encountered these things..."
"Yes, yes, that's right. I remembered it as soon as the captain mentioned it."
Lin Chaosheng was completely bewildered. He only knew that the commune would give a reward of fifty yuan for killing the tiger and black bear, but he didn't know there were any other rewards.
"What else?" Zhao Shufang's breath caught in her throat. "Didn't they say there was a fifty-yuan bonus?"
"Not only that, hahahahahaha!" Captain Wei laughed out loud and said, "There are a lot of valuable things on this black bear! We've found professionals to cut the meat, and we'll keep the parts that can fetch a price separately. We'll calculate it for you later and deliver it to you personally."
Several people with wicked intentions were plotting to rob Lin Chaosheng after hearing this.
Unexpectedly, Captain Wei directly said he would send the money to Lin Chaosheng, and those restless people immediately gave up their thoughts.
Who would dare rob the captain of this unit? What if they did? Would they even survive?
Lin Chaosheng knew that the captain was concerned about his safety and money, and nodded gratefully at him.

Team Leader Wei waved his hand, and just as he was speaking, he heard the sound of a tractor.
There were three or four people sitting on the tractor, and they all jumped off when they saw the place.

The men were all seasoned veterans. They exchanged glances but didn't explicitly state how much it was worth. Instead, they gave Lin Chaosheng an appreciative look.
"Young man, you have a bright future!"
"Yeah, the future is incredibly lucrative, hahaha!"
Village Chief Lü quickly said, "Let's distribute the meat to everyone first. One jin of meat to each household. As for Chaosheng's family, they have a large population and are heroes in the bear-hunting battle, so they will receive two extra jin of meat, plus a bear paw. Does anyone have any objections?"
Upon hearing this, everyone shook their heads, and some even shouted, "No objections!"
So everyone happily lined up in a long queue, and Lin Chaosheng's family was the first to receive the meat.
Lin Shanhai's face flushed with excitement. "I'll cook this bear paw tonight and give Chaosheng a good boost!"
