"Are you scared out of your wits?" Lin Chaosheng patted Wei He's face. "Want to come again next time?"
Lin Chaosheng thought Wei He had given up, but little did he know that Wei He was a real man.
"Come on! Why aren't you coming?" Wei He regained his composure and looked at Lin Chaosheng solemnly.
"Good boy, from now on, I'll make sure you get a bite to eat." Lin Chaosheng looked at Wei He with satisfaction.
After saying that, he turned around and began sorting the things that had been hit.
He put one category together, and then divided it into three equal parts.
“Take this one back with you,” Lin Chaosheng said, putting one of the portions into a wooden bucket.
Seeing so much seafood, Wei He waved his hands repeatedly, "No, Brother Lin, I haven't been of any help at all, how can you take so much?"
“Take this part home and eat it, and sell the other part to make money. It’s perfect!” Lin Chaosheng helped Wei He divide the food.
“It really won’t work, Brother Lin. My grandma is too old to make these things. We can’t make this much money from selling them. Your family has a lot of people, so you can take these back.” Wei He scooped out most of them and put them into Lin Chaosheng’s bucket.
Lin Chaosheng fell silent, because what Wei He said made sense. Grandma Wei was old, and it was too much trouble for her to do these things by herself. If she were to teach Wei He now, he wouldn't be able to learn them in a short time.
Just as he was worrying, Lin Shansheng suddenly said, "Hey brother, why don't you let Wei He and Grandma Wei eat at our house? It's just a matter of having two more sets of bowls and chopsticks."
"Hey kid, you've got some tricks up your sleeve!" Lin Chaosheng slapped Lin Shansheng on the shoulder with delight.
Lin Chaosheng turned around and pushed the wooden bucket onto the cart. "Shansheng, the road splits up ahead. Pick up your parents too, and come to my house for a meal."
"Okay, what should we eat today?" Lin Shansheng asked with a hungry look on his face.
"Let's eat something you've never had before: seafood barbecue!" Lin Chaosheng said as he pushed the cart.
Lin Shansheng's eyes lit up when he heard this, "Barbecue!"
Wei He had never eaten this before and immediately asked, "What's barbecue?"
Lin Chaosheng began to recall, "I've only ever seen other people eat barbecue before."
In his previous life, he survived until the Reform and Opening Up. One day, when he was begging on the street, he saw a group of people eating outside in front of an oven.
The aroma almost made him, who was a homeless man at the time, drool.
“They put some charcoal in that little stove, and then put an iron mesh on top,” Lin Chaosheng recounted the scene from his memory, “and then they used skewers to put all the vegetables they wanted on the grill.”
"And then?" Wei He asked hastily.
"Then you just wait for the food to cook, add the secret seasoning, sprinkle some cumin and chili powder, and have some garlic on the side. The taste is absolutely amazing!" Lin Chaosheng smacked his lips, as if he had already eaten it.
Lin Shansheng, having finished drooling, said, "Alright, bro, stop talking. My stomach's already rumbling. Let's go!"
The three of them then worked together to push the cart faster.
When they arrived at the village entrance, everyone gathered around, eager to see what good things were for sale that day.
Lin Chaosheng said apologetically, "I'm sorry everyone, I won't sell these for now. Please wait until later."
Upon hearing this, everyone walked away in disappointment.
“Go, pick up your grandma too,” Lin Chaosheng said to Wei He.
"Can you handle all this by yourself, Brother Lin?" Wei He looked at the three large buckets of seafood with concern.
Lin Chaosheng smiled and said, "Go ahead, don't worry about me. Your brother has plenty of strength."
After saying that, he pushed the car towards home.
"Come help me!" Lin Chaosheng shouted towards his door.
Upon hearing this, Liang Fu and Liang Mei immediately ran out.
"What is this? It's so heavy!" Liang Mei tried her best to help her husband.
"Go and rest over there, Xiao Fu can help me." Lin Chaosheng saw Liang Mei helping as well and quickly stopped her.
Liang Fu quickly stopped Liang Mei, "Yes, sister, you go and hold the door open for us."
Liang Mei immediately did as she was told.
After putting the things in the yard, Lin Chaosheng secretly gave Liang Fu a thumbs up, "Great job, you're the best!"
Liang Fu nodded proudly, "That's my sister, how could I not know her?"
Looking at the seafood, Liang Mei was about to ask Lin Chaosheng what he was planning to do today.
Lin Shansheng walked in with Zhao Shufang and Lin Shanhai. "Brother, hurry up and grill it, I'm starving!"
"What are you grilling?" Liang Mei, Liang Fu, Zhao Shufang, and Lin Shanhai asked in unison.
"Hehe, barbecue! My brother said we'd have barbecue today." Lin Shansheng couldn't wait.
What is barbecue?
"What do we do with this thing?"
"Will it taste good... Don't waste so much food."
The four of them kept talking, making Lin Chaosheng's head spin like it was going to explode.
"Stop! My dear family members, please follow my instructions." Lin Chaosheng finally couldn't take it anymore and stopped the four people from bombarding him with questions.
"Mother, you and Liang Mei and Liang Fu clean the seafood," Lin Chaosheng began to give instructions. "Father, you and the two of us will help you cut the skewers."
"Peeling skewers?" Lin Shanhai asked, frowning in confusion.
“Yes, we’re going to skewer the food and grill it later!” Lin Shansheng explained quickly.
"I'll take the seafood and exchange it for some coal later." After thinking for a moment, Lin Chaosheng set his sights on Li Daniu.
"Knock knock knock—" At this moment, a knocking sound came from outside the house.
“Brother Lin, it’s me and my grandma,” Wei He called from outside the door.
Liang Mei quickly went to open the door, "Coming, coming!"
When Grandma Wei walked in and saw the three large buckets of seafood, she almost fainted from fright.
"Grandma, isn't Brother Lin amazing? He led us to victory!" Wei He confidently introduced.
"How can I possibly thank you, Chaosheng..." Grandma Wei couldn't help but shed tears. "You took Weihe fishing and invited us over for dinner. I...I..."
Seeing this, Zhao Shufang quickly stepped forward to comfort Grandma Wei, "Mom, Sister Wei, we're eating so much good food together today, don't worry about these things. With you all here, the courtyard will be even more lively!"
Grandma Wei wiped away her tears and said, "You're right." Then she looked at Lin Chaosheng and said, "But we can't just freeload. We'll help you with whatever work you need."
Lin Chaosheng then arranged for Grandma Wei to wash vegetables with Zhao Shufang and the others, and asked Wei He to dig some mud to mix with him so that he could build the stove later.
"Then I'll go exchange the coal first," Lin Chaosheng said, pushing the wooden bucket out of the house.
He soon arrived at the casino.
The younger brother saw him pushing the big wooden barrel in from afar and quickly alerted him.
"Please help me..." Before Lin Chaosheng could finish speaking, Li Daniu rushed out to greet him after receiving the letter.
"Hey, Brother Lin! What do you need this time?" Li Daniu laughed so hard his eyes were almost closed.
"I went out to sea today and brought back some seafood. I'd like to exchange it with you for something," Lin Chaosheng said.
Upon hearing that it was seafood, Li Daniu's small eyes widened. "Seafood!"
"Hurry, hurry, what are you waiting for? Quickly help Brother Lin carry his things inside!" Li Daniu hurriedly directed.
Lin Chaosheng quickly grabbed the cart, "Wait! Let me tell you what you need to change first."
