Chapter 78: First day of setting up a stall, sold out!

Zhao Shufang made a mysterious gesture and brought out a plate of potato pancakes and pork wontons from the kitchen.

“Come on, have a taste. I just made these,” Zhao Shufang said, pointing to two dishes. “Potato pancakes and pork wontons.”

Upon hearing that it was something delicious, everyone quickly started scrambling to eat it, taking bites from each other.

The potato pancake has a crispy and fragrant outer layer, and you can even hear a "crunch" sound when you bite into it.

Upon tasting, it immediately releases the aroma of pepper and chili powder mixed with the natural fragrance of potatoes.

"These potatoes are really great; they taste delicious no matter how you cook them!" Liang Mei exclaimed.

That bowl of wontons was absolutely amazing; the wonton wrappers were already soaked with broth and had a spicy, peppery flavor.

With a thin skin and a generous filling, the pale pink pork filling is visible through the skin. Take a bite and then a mouthful of hot broth, and the meat filling bursts out with juice, dancing in your mouth as it mixes with the scalding heat.

The minced meat was mixed with a little ginger, and it was seven parts lean meat and three parts fat, so it wasn't dry or greasy.

Finally, take a sip of soup, mixed with scallions, seaweed, and dried shrimp, which is savory and flavorful.

"Mom, this is sure to be a huge success!" Lin Shansheng said, still rubbing his belly with satisfaction.

"Yes, Auntie, I'm afraid I'll sneak a bite when they're selling it over there later." Liang Fu also looked on longingly, wanting another bowl.

Zhao Shufang was overjoyed by the praise and noticed that some of them were still craving food, so she said, "I've prepared a lot of meat filling and rolled out a lot of dough, so you'll have plenty to eat at noon."

Lin Chaosheng blinked. "What about the potato pancakes, Mom?"

"Yes, yes, they're all on the stove. I won't be back for lunch, so you'll have to take care of yourselves." Having received approval, Zhao Shufang couldn't wait to go out and set up her stall.

Lin Chaosheng quickly helped Zhao Shufang load the materials onto the donkey cart, then tied a pushcart to the back, and took Zhao Shufang and Liang Fu to a market in the county.

There are quite a few people setting up stalls here, but most of them are selling vegetables.

Lin Chaosheng parked his car in front of a small storage shed. Zhao Shufang thought he was going to buy something, but Lin Chaosheng unloaded all the equipment from the car.

I rented a small storage room here. When you two finish selling, you can just put the cart and stuff here to avoid the hassle of moving things around.

Upon hearing this, Zhao Shufang immediately felt sorry for the money again, saying, "You child, you become so extravagant as soon as you have money. I'm perfectly healthy, it's not like I can't push it home!"

Lin Chaosheng advised, "What if it rains, or it gets cold? Can you two push it back? What if something happens?"

Zhao Shufang was speechless for a moment, so Lin Chaosheng continued, "Besides, Mother, money is meant to be spent. Your son is really capable; it's not like I can't earn more. And with your excellent skills, you'll earn the money back before I do!"

Liang Fu chimed in, "Yes, Auntie, I feel like the things you make will soon be known throughout the entire market. Then you can just open a shop and you'll be a big boss!"

Zhao Shufang was immediately tempted and quickly urged Lin Chaosheng to leave so she could set up her stall and show off her skills.

Seeing that Zhao Shufang had accepted it and was now full of energy, Lin Chaosheng went home reassured.

Zhao Shufang put on her apron, pushed her cart to a fairly busy spot, and started calling out, "Come and see! Freshly baked potato pancakes and pork wontons!"

As Zhao Shufang called out her wares, she wrapped pork wontons in one hand, while Liang Fu busily helped her wrap them as well.

Because there weren't many people selling food, it quickly attracted a crowd of onlookers.

"Hey, ma'am, how much are all these snacks?"

"Potato pancakes are two cents each, and pork wontons are one mao a bowl." Zhao Shufang's eyes lit up when she saw people arrive, and she quickly and enthusiastically introduced them.

The man glanced at the wontons on the side, each one large and overflowing, and couldn't resist ordering a bowl for himself.

Zhao Shufang quickly lit the fire, put the wontons in, and then added chopped green onions, dried shrimp, seaweed, and seasonings to the bowl.

Soon, the wontons floated to the surface. Zhao Shufang scooped them out and also ladled out a large spoonful of soup.

"Try it!" Liang Fu hurriedly handed the wontons to the man and gave him a spoon as well.

The moment he took his first bite, the man's eyes lit up. He had never eaten such delicious wontons before, especially such a large bowl.

Seeing him eat so hastily and silently, someone nearby quickly asked, "Is it good?"

The man was too busy to answer, so he quickly nodded twice and continued eating.

The onlookers, wanting to taste just how delicious it was, hurriedly paid for it.

While cooking wontons, Zhao Shufang was also making potato pancakes, wishing she had eight hands.

Liang Fu was also packing seasonings and collecting and counting money on the side.

The aroma of the potato pancakes quickly filled the entire market, attracting a crowd of onlookers.

Everyone eating wontons and pancakes seemed to be under some kind of program, eating silently with a look of complete satisfaction on their faces.

The onlookers became even more eager after seeing this, and a long queue quickly formed in front of Zhao Shufang's stall.

But soon, Zhao Shufang ran out of ingredients, firstly because she wasn't very confident about herself that day, and secondly because she had saved some for her family.

So she had no choice but to apologize to the people still in line, saying, "I'm sorry everyone, we've sold out for today. Please come back tomorrow. I'll still be here with my stall tomorrow!"

Upon hearing this, everyone sighed and left disappointed, because they had all seen the wontons and potato pancakes.

There were so many wontons that they were almost overflowing, and the potato pancakes were almost as big as the pot! Where else can you find something so affordable and delicious?

Left with no other choice, they had to leave. Zhao Shufang felt very apologetic and resolved to bring more things with her the next day.

She and Liang Fu pushed the things over to the small storage room, then closed the door and took out a wad of cash from inside.

Zhao Shufang was speechless when she saw the money; she was moved to tears, as it was the first money she had ever earned.

Liang Fu counted carefully; it was four yuan in total!

Zhao Shufang couldn't wait to go home and share the good news, so after packing her things and locking the small storage room door, she grabbed Liang Fu and hurried home.

Once home, Zhao Shufang quickly closed the door, pulled everyone together, and slammed the money onto the table.

"Wow, so many?" Lin Chaosheng exclaimed in surprise.

Lin Shanhai looked at Zhao Shufang with admiration, "Old woman, you are really amazing! How did I end up marrying such an amazing wife!"

As he was about to hug Zhao Shufang, Zhao Shufang quickly pushed Lin Shanhai away.

"Get lost! We've been married for ages, don't disgust me! There are so many kids watching here!" Zhao Shufang rolled her eyes.
