Chapter 263: One Gains, the Other Loses

Qian Lei's voice was filled with endless sadness and despair, as if he wanted to shout out all the grievances and pain in his heart.

Looking at Qian Lei's hysterical look, Li Qiumei sneered in her heart, "I owe you, are you worthy enough to say I owe you in front of me?

You can never repay me in this life what you owe me in your previous life."

She picked up the teacup and took a sip of water, "Qian Lei, I never feel like I owe you anything.

You and your sister are just like your father, always making excuses for your behavior.

Think about it honestly: if your father hadn't been laid off, if this series of misfortunes hadn't happened, if I hadn't been a businessman and was a poor woman, would you two brothers and sisters still rush to recognize me?"

Qian Lei didn't say anything. Li Qiumei grinned and continued, "I bet you won't come. You'll just stay away.

Qian Lei, you must know that everything has cause and effect."

Every word Li Qiumei said was like a knife, deeply hurting Qian Lei's heart.

"So, this is how his mother sees them."

Seeing that Li Qiumei was about to chase him away, Qian Lei looked at Li Qiumei cautiously, "Then lend me some money, and I will pay you back when I graduate.

I can write an IOU."

Li Qiumei believed this, but this was not what she wanted.

"Hiring a caregiver for a stroke your father suffered is not cheap. My business is not doing well this year, so I really can't help you."

The light in Qian Lei's eyes went out. Even Li Qiumei was unwilling to help him. How would he survive the rest of his life?

The next day, Li Qiumei bought a wheelchair and sent it over.

Qian Lei must have some hope. If he loses hope and Qian Jinshu dies, then both he and his son will be relieved.

After all, the Qian family is full of selfish people, and they must have the genes of a murderer.

It is dinner time now, and Qian Lei has returned from the school cafeteria with his meal.

The father and son placed a small dining table on the bed. Qian Jinshu was leaning on the bed, scooping a spoonful of rice with his left hand and stuffing it into his mouth.

Qian Lei was also sitting in front of the bed eating.

The air was filled with a foul smell of feces, but the father and son seemed not to smell it and were eating with gusto.

The door of the room was open. Li Qiumei coughed, and then Qian Jinshu and his son saw her.

Seeing Li Qiumei coming in with a wheelchair, Qian Lei put down his bowl and chopsticks and stood up. Li Qiumei pointed outside the door, and Qian Lei hurried over to carry the things in.

Qian Jinshu mumbled a few words, pointed at the stool with the spoon in his hand, and motioned Li Qiumei to sit down.

Li Qiumei ignored him. She originally wanted to tell Qian Lei a few words, but the smell was unbearable.

Li Qiumei didn't dare to speak. She held her breath and turned towards the door. When she got there, she said, "I have something else to do. I'm leaving now."

Qian Lei looked at her back and fell into deep thought. He couldn't understand his mother at all.

Why did he feel that whenever he tried to get close to his mother, she would push him away forcefully?

But when he became disheartened and decided to stay away from her, her mother showed a little concern for him again.

Qian Lei sighed and moved the wheelchair to the bedside. After all, the wheelchair was bought at a timely moment.

He was just thinking about how to get his father out to bask in the sun, when he unexpectedly had his mother bring a wheelchair over.

Qian Jinshu pointed at the wheelchair excitedly and cried out in pain. He had not been out of bed for several months.

Now that he has a wheelchair, he can go out in the future.

Qian Lei looked at his father with mixed feelings.

The gentle man before has turned into an old man with a crooked mouth and squinting eyes.

Ever since his stroke, his father's temper has become much worse. Every time he wets his pants, he would sob and pat the bed with the only hand he could move.

Qian Lei heard Qian Jinshu's unclear cry countless times, "Let him die."

It was not until he was admitted to university that his father accepted the reality of his stroke and began to actively cooperate with the treatment.

Seeing that Qian Lei ignored him, Qian Jinshu knocked on the dining table with the spoon in his hand.

Qian Lei came back to his senses and said, "Dad, finish your meal first. I'll push you out for a walk later."

Qian Jinshu grinned, his saliva dripping from his mouth.

Before Qian Lei went on winter vacation, Li Qiumei went to see the father and son.

The room no longer smelled of shit and was fairly clean.

Qian Jinshu has unexpectedly grown plump and white, and looks much more energetic than before. At first glance, he looks more than ten years younger than before.

"Qiu...Qiumei..." Qian Jinshu could actually pronounce the words clearly.

My right hand, which couldn't move before, can now tremble and pick up a towel to wipe my saliva.

It seems that the eyes are no longer slanted, only the mouth is still a little crooked.

I just don’t know if I can walk anymore?

It seems that Qian Jinshu is recovering little by little.

In contrast, Qian Lei has lost a lot of weight, and even has white hair and several wrinkles on his forehead.

In my previous life, Qian Lei was not this old when I died. I didn’t expect that he would become so old in just a few months.

Yes, it must be very hard to take care of an elderly person who is paralyzed in bed, not to mention taking care of him while going to school.

I don't know how Qian Lei is doing academically. Did he fail any courses?

Qian Lei opened the door for Li Qiumei and went into the bathroom silently to wash the sheets and quilt covers.

His hands were already red from the cold, but he seemed unconscious as he scrubbed the bedding one after another.

There was no light in Li Qiumei's eyes as she looked at Qian Lei, and they were as calm as a pool of stagnant water.
