Chapter 1981

"Doctor, how are they?"

Su Ruochu asked nervously, her heart pounding.

The doctor raised his hand to remove his mask and began to explain.

"The bullet that shot the woman in the arm did not break the bone. Her arm has been stitched up, but she will need to rest for a while."

"There was another woman who was stabbed..."

The doctor glanced at Su Ruochu's expression, knew her identity, and spoke in a gentle tone.

"She was stabbed seven times in total, one of which was very deep. If it had been two centimeters off, it might have been life-threatening."

"The remaining cuts were less severe because she was wearing a thick down jacket and sweater, so they only punctured her skin and did not damage her internal organs. After the surgery, with proper rest, she will gradually recover."

"And that gentleman..."

At this point, the doctor's expression became somewhat serious.

"This man's injury is quite serious. The bullet hit his right shoulder, almost reaching his heart."

"Our doctors have removed the bullet, but he is still in extremely dangerous condition. The doctors inside are doing everything they can to save him..."

Su Ruochu looked dazed, and it took her a few seconds to come to her senses before she thanked him repeatedly.

"You're welcome. Please feel free to contact me anytime if you need anything."

He said something to his wife, then turned and left.

Su Ruochu immediately went into the room next door.

Du Juan lay on the bed, her arms wrapped in bandages.

Seeing Su Ruochu enter, Du Juan quickly tried to get up.

"Lie down, lie down."

Su Ruochu hurried over, wanting to let Dui lie down again.

Dujuan shook her head.

"It's alright, the bullet only hit my arm and went through. It didn't break any bones."

Du Juan looked at Su Ruochu with some guilt.

“I’m sorry, I’ve been too lax…”

Su Ruochu shook her head, her eyes slightly red.

“I’m sorry to you all. I’ve dragged you down with me…”

Du Juan quickly shook her head.

"Miss Su, please don't say that."

"놖 is a bodyguard, 놖's mission is to ensure your safety."

"If you get injured, I really don't know how to explain it to President Chen."

After a two-second silence, Du Juan asked again about Bai Qingci and the bodyguard.

Su Ruochu gave a brief explanation.

After listening, Dujuan sighed deeply.

"Actually... we bodyguards are always dancing on the edge of a knife."

“From the day I entered this industry, I was prepared for this day to come.”

“Ms. Su, you really don’t need to blame yourself. This is just part of our job.”

Su Ruochu kept her head down, her eyes red-rimmed.

"I never expected that they would even have guns against me..."

Du Juan gave a wry smile.

"To have survived with a gun on you is something to be thankful for."

"Miss Bai and the others... will definitely be alright."

Su Ruochu stayed in the ward and chatted with Du Juan for a while.

About an hour later, Bai Qingci was wheeled out of the operating room.

Bai Qingci was still in a coma after the surgery.

His abdomen was wrapped in thick bandages.

Su Ruochu stayed in the ward the whole time, and Li Na asked her several times to go back and rest, but Su Ruochu refused.

They kept doing this all night.

Li Na returned from outside, carrying a boxed lunch in her hand.

I stood at the door and glanced inside.

Bai Qingci was still unconscious on the hospital bed.

Su Ruochu sat to the side, her head resting on the edge of the bed, already asleep.

Having experienced the events of the day, she was also terrified by the giant monster.

Coupled with the anxiety of waiting so long at the hospital, Su Ruochu managed to stay awake and fall asleep.

Li Na brought the boxed lunch into the room and gently placed it on the table next to her.

The next second, Su Ruochu suddenly opened her eyes and sat up abruptly.

The first thing I did was look at the white celadon porcelain in front of me.

Seeing that his partner was still asleep, he secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Li Na bent down and gently patted Su Ruochu's shoulder.

"You stay here and keep watch. Go wash your face and eat first."

Su Ruochu shook her head, looking slightly tired, but still said something.

"놖놊hungry."

Li Na glanced at the white porcelain on the bed and asked softly.

"Still not awake?"

"Hmm. The effects of the anesthesia have worn off. The doctor said she should wake up soon."

Li Na then added, "The surgery over there should be almost finished, right?"

As she was speaking, there was a knock on the door, and Su Ruochu immediately stood up.

Sure enough, in the corridor outside the operating room, she saw that the lights had turned green.

A nurse and her husband came out of the emergency room.

Su Ruochu rushed over immediately.

"Husband, how is it?"

The man was a little tired, but he still patiently explained.

"The surgery was successful, and the bullet was removed. However, because the gun's location was too dangerous, whether the patient will wake up depends on his reaction tonight."

"We will have nurses keep a close eye on things, and we'll be ready to provide emergency care immediately should any unexpected situations arise."

Su Ruochu couldn't quite describe the feeling in her heart.

She felt very guilty.

If it were for saving himself, this bodyguard would also end up in this situation.

"Thank you, thank you all."

Su Ruochu quickly thanked them and watched the doctors and nurses leave before sitting down wearily on a nearby recliner.

Li Na sat down beside Su Ruochu and took her arm.

She actually understands Su Ruochu's feelings best at this moment.

Du Juan, with bandages wrapped around her arm, walked over from the side.

“Ms. Su, you really don’t need to blame yourself.”

“We are bodyguards, and the duty of bodyguards is to ensure the safety of their employers. Otherwise, we are derelict in our duty.”

Du Juan has been with Su Ruochu for over two years. The two spend every day together, and to be honest, they spend even more time together than with Chen Fan.

Su Ruochu had long regarded Su Ruochu as a good sister.

That's why Du Juan felt so guilty after she was injured.

I'm just too stupid.

If 땣 had noticed the danger sooner and reacted earlier, 늀놊 would have caused Bai Qingci and Dujuan to get hurt.

Having stayed by Chen Fan's side for so many years, it seems that I have always been the one being taken care of.

I really am utterly useless.

Around 10 p.m., an exhausted Su Ruochu fell asleep in the ward.

In a daze, I only felt that something was coming towards me.

Then it seems that someone draped a piece of clothing over their own body.

Su Ruochu blinked, and the next second, she woke up from her sleep.

Looking up, I saw a familiar face.

Chen Fan blinked and chuckled, "Did I wake you up?"

Su Ruochu was stunned for a moment, then suddenly stood up and threw herself into Chen Fan's arms.

"What's wrong? Silly girl."

"Waaah..."

"Why are you crying? Is this person back?"
