Xue Ran ordered a string of dishes without any hesitation, and Guo Jinfang and his wife's expressions grew increasingly unpleasant.
Guo Haiguang and Guo Jiangshi, who had just come to visit their in-laws, overheard everything outside the door.

Xue Ran asked with concern, "Little Xizi, did you get a chicken feather in your throat? Why are you coughing so much?"
Guo Yuxi coughed, but the sound stuck in his throat. This father-in-law was really something, acting like he was part of the family on their first meeting!
Guo Jinfang and his wife were too lazy to cook at home, so they took the Xue family father and daughter to a restaurant in the village to eat ready-made food.
Xue Ran was surprised to find a restaurant in a rural village, and one with such upscale decor. He looked around, touched everything, and kept praising it, "This place is quite interesting!"
The waiter brought the menu, and Xue Ran glanced at it briefly before saying, "Bring all these main dishes: quail, steamed crayfish, steamed abalone with garlic, spicy crab, braised prawns, and seafood salad! And three catties of that turtle stew with goose!"
After ordering the main dishes, he asked Guo Jinfang and Guo Haiguang to order other dishes.
Guo Haiguang was furious; he didn't even want to order food, he just wanted to get up and leave.
However, Lady Guo held him down, preventing him from moving.
Guo Jinfang's face was sour. "There are seven of us in total, this should be enough."

Xue Ran quickly ordered six vegetarian dishes, eight cold dishes, two soups, two plates of fried silver thread rolls, and two plates of three-delicacy dumplings as staple food.

The waiters were all dumbfounded by Xue Ran's words.

The waitress, a local, smiled and asked Guo Jinfang's wife, "Liu Ju, is this your son's wife?"

She nodded.
Before long, all the dishes were served.
