Chapter 591 The Headlights Turn On

Brother Niu and Brother Ma entered the house cursing and swearing, and were greeted by the Xue family father and daughter lying on the ground.

"Damn it! Two useless pieces of trash!"

"Shall we make a move?"

"Stop talking nonsense, just start!"

Just as the two men picked up the daggers, a strong force struck their backs, and they felt a heat in their hearts and a sweet taste in their throats.

"Wow--"

"puff--"

Two mouthfuls of blood spurted into the air.

Li Guoqing, who appeared out of nowhere, quickly tied up Niu and Ma with ropes.

Just as Niu and Ma were about to yell at Li Guoqing to release them, the sound of sirens blared in their ears.

For a moment, the two were filled with doubt and uncertainty, and swallowed all the words that were about to come out.

outside the house.

The blinding white lights shone from both sides of the road, turning the night into day.

Pan Jiwen panicked and quickly asked the person next to him, "Captain Hao, what's going on? Did you call these cars too?"

The man called Captain Hao was so engrossed in his work that he couldn't pay any attention to Pan Jiwen.

Just then, several tall and straight figures suddenly appeared in the dazzling white headlights.

The white light from the car headlights shone on them just right, like a spotlight on a stage, illuminating their figures with exceptional clarity.

The figures appeared even taller and more imposing under the light and shadow, like guardians emerging from the darkness.

As they drew closer, their silhouettes stretched infinitely.

Every step they took seemed to tread on the hearts of Captain Hao and the others.

"Captain Hao, why are you here so late at night instead of sleeping?"

The person leading the group was none other than Bai Ningchuan, the director of the Huichuan County Public Security Bureau!

Captain Hao quickly came over and bowed.

He steadied himself and forced a calm demeanor as he replied, "Director Bai, I brought people here because of a tip from the public that someone was reselling large quantities of gold here."

Bai Ningchuan raised his right eyebrow slightly and asked in an inscrutable tone, "Is that so?"

His expression clearly showed disbelief.

Captain Hao quickly invited Bai Ningchuan to the car to look, "Look, this is all the gold I intercepted, and I'm just about to send it back to the station!"

Bai Ningchuan picked up a gold brick, weighed it in his hand, and then turned to Captain Hao, asking, "Who reported the case? Where are the suspects? Have they been apprehended? Why is there no record of a police report?"

Four questions in a row. Even though Captain Hao was quick-witted and his mind was racing so fast he almost lost his mind, he still couldn't answer Bai Ningchuan's questions immediately.

"Director Bai, I want to report a case!"

At this moment, Grandma Jiang came out with the help of Doctor Gu and Li Guoqing.

"I'm going to sue them for burglary and attempted murder!"

This is no small crime.

Bai Ningchuan gestured to his left and right, and soon police officers entered the house to search it.

A moment later, the police officers who had gone inside to check came out and loudly reported to Bai Ningchuan, "Chief, there are four people and two knives inside!"

Bai Ningchuan waved his hand, "Take them all back to the police station!"

Captain Hao stood to the side, and in an instant, he broke out in a sweat. His underwear was soaked and sticky against his body.

He felt his legs go weak, as if he couldn't stand up, his head was buzzing, and his heart sank heavily.

He leaned close to Bai Ningchuan and said loudly, "Chief, we subdued those four thugs. But, but we hadn't had time to send them to the station before you arrived."

Bai Ningchuan didn't even glance at him, preoccupied with catching the bandits.

Pan Jiwen sensed something was wrong and tried to escape while everyone was in disarray.

Little did he know that a tight net had been laid all around, making it extremely difficult for even a fly to escape.

The police arrested Pan Jiwen and presented him with a pair of silver bracelets.

"Hey, hey, hey—what's going on here?! I'm a good person! A really good person! Besides, I'm with your Captain Hao, oh no! We're all here to catch thieves, why are you handcuffing me?!"

He howled like a wild dog, but no one paid him any attention.

Because, at this moment, Captain Hao suddenly sprang into action and took Old Mrs. Jiang hostage!

Bai Ningchuan frowned and shouted, "Hao Feng! What are you doing!"

"What are you doing?"

Captain Hao sneered, "What am I supposed to do? You've laid a trap for me, and now you're asking me what I'm supposed to do! Hypocritical! Disgusting!"

"You're the captain of the public security management brigade! You're a police officer! How could you do such a thing?"

Bai Ningchuan looked pained, trying to awaken Hao Feng's sense of justice and professional ethics as a police officer.

Hao Feng sneered, "Why can't I? I've had enough! I've worked diligently for decades, and finally Chen Yi dared to leave. Everyone above said it would be my turn soon! But what happened? Who knew you would be parachuted in halfway through!"

"God is being unfair to me!"

Hao Feng's voice was firm and resounding. He roared angrily, "Since it's unfair, I'll take it from God!"

While Bai Ningchuan was trying to persuade Hao Feng, he gestured for the surrounding police officers to slowly surround him.

Having been a policeman for decades, Hao Feng was intimately familiar with the little tricks of police investigation; there was nothing he couldn't understand!

"Don't bother, Bai Ningchuan! If you want to protect Granny Jiang, tell your men to get out of my way! I don't want much, just half of the gold bricks. If you let me leave safely, I won't kill Granny Jiang!"

Seeing that Hao Feng's dagger had left a shallow bloodstain on Old Madam Jiang's neck, Bai Ningchuan had no choice but to signal the encirclement to disperse.

"Bai Ningchuan, I'm taking Granny Jiang to Bincheng Port now. As long as I get on the ship safely, I'll return this old hag to you!"
