Chapter 505: Action in Progress 2

Osvaldo Vega is an intelligence officer in the Second Section of the Logistics Department of the Rio de Janeiro Aircraft Carrier Battle Group. Since the establishment of the Eddie brothers' anti-government armed forces, he has been sent to the town of Manguari. When the rebels occupied the town, he took the opportunity to join the rebels.

He has been in a dormant state all along. From the beginning, the order he received was that once the task of eliminating the rebels was taken over by the Marines, he would be responsible for setting up agreed marks visible from the sky within 300 meters east of the rebel camp, so that the Marines could grasp the position of the rebels at any time.

Early this morning, he finally received the long-awaited news. Having been waiting for this moment for a very long time, he did not hesitate to find an excuse to go to the toilet and sneaked out of the rebel camp.

I was still thinking about how to bypass the sentry post outside the camp. After carefully approaching the sentry post, I unexpectedly found that the sentry who was supposed to be on duty was sleeping under a tree.

This made him breathe a sigh of relief. He walked carefully past the sentry and entered the jungle outside the camp. From beginning to end, he never thought that the sentry had actually died at his post.

He walked into the jungle and looked around until he found a gap in the jungle. He took a look at the surrounding environment and thought that this place should be easy to see from the sky.

He carefully found a few broken branches, peeled off the bark on one side of the branches, revealing the white trunk inside, and arranged the branches into the agreed triangle. After placing them in the right position, he checked them carefully again. After confirming that the sign could be clearly seen from the sky, he nodded with satisfaction.

Just as he was about to turn around and leave, he suddenly felt a strong force covering his mouth from behind. He thought to himself, "Oh no!", wondering if the people in the camp had discovered his actions.

He quickly stretched out his right hand and reached for the dagger at his waist, wanting to fight to the death with the opponent.

...

...

But before he could touch the dagger, his right hand was firmly grasped by the person behind him. Just as he was about to touch the dagger with his left hand, the person behind him whispered:

"I am General Fang's man!"

Osvaldo Vega was startled when he heard this, and his hands stopped moving unconsciously.

The other party seemed to have noticed his actions and said softly:

"I can let you go, but if you make any noise, I'll just kill you, understand?"

Osvaldo Vega couldn't see the other person's appearance, but he could feel from the strength of the other person's hand that he was no match for the other person. Although he was very surprised and didn't understand why General Fang's men appeared outside the camp.

However, the other party did not say that they were from the Navy or the Marine Corps, but directly named General Fang's men, which gave him some basic trust in the other party.

So he very wisely chose to relax his whole body and give up resistance.

Seeing this, the person behind him slowly loosened his hands, and after making sure that he did not make a sound, he slowly took a step back.

At this time Osvaldo Vega also let out a long breath, slowly turned his head and looked behind him. Just one glance almost made him scream.

Because the other party's dress was too scary, with bushes and weeds growing all over his body, it looked like a jungle ghost or some special creature.

Fortunately, he could see some traces of humanity on the colorful face, as well as the new weapons hung on the other party's body, which made him feel relieved.

Because he had seen this kind of weapon when he was in the Second Section of the Logistics Department.

The other party's eyes naturally did not escape Rez Vazquez's eyes. After seeing that the other party relaxed and did not scream loudly, he realized that the guy in front of him was indeed one of his own.

After all, who among the rebel soldiers would come out and set up such obvious signs outside if they had nothing to do?

"Rez Vázquez, Naval Special Tactics Research Team, Rio de Janeiro Carrier Strike Group."

Rez Vazquez showed his big white teeth and spoke with a smile.

Hearing this, Osvaldo Vega was completely relieved. He smiled slightly, stretched out his right hand and said:

"Osvaldo Vega, Section 2, Logistics Department, Rio de Janeiro Aircraft Carrier Strike Group. I was almost scared to death by you. How did you get here?"

Rez Vázquez smiled and made a gesture instead of answering. Osvaldo Vega still hadn't figured out what the other party meant.

He saw a small shrub beside him suddenly grow and become the shape of a human. He was so scared that he quickly jumped aside.

Before he could continue asking, Rez Vazquez took the initiative to speak:

"Don't be nervous, Mr. Vega. We have been here for a while. Next, don't sneak into the rebel camp again. The full-scale attack will begin in a few minutes."

This obviously frightened Osvaldo Vega, and he said uncertainly:

"So soon, didn't we just decide that our Marine Corps will be responsible for eliminating the rebels?"

"No sooner, we have been preparing for this day for a long time!"

The warrior who stood up from Osvaldo Vega's side spoke up. After that, he nodded to Rez Vazquez and said:

"The bomber group will arrive at the battlefield in five minutes. We are told to prepare to mark the location of the enemy camp."

Rez Vázquez nodded, patted Osvaldo Vega on the shoulder and said:

"My friend, is your mission over?"

Osvaldo Vega didn't understand what they meant at this moment, and said in disbelief:

"If I heard correctly, the Navy is going to use bombers to directly bomb the rebels! Wow! Cool!

Are you going to be in charge of marking the location of the camp? It seems we have the same mission! Maybe I can help you!"

Rez Vazquez smiled and shook his head, then glanced at the triangular mark the other party had placed on the ground and said:

"No need. Your marking is not conspicuous. Our task now is to allow the bombers to clearly see the specific location of the enemy. Your method will not work."

As if he had thought of something, Osvaldo Vega slapped his thigh and said:

"Haha... I guess you don't have to take any action at all, because those stupid rebels have already marked their positions themselves?"

These words startled the two men, and they all turned their attention to Osvaldo Vega.

Seeing the two people looking at him, Osvaldo Vega laughed and said:

“Just now, Brother Eddie received intelligence and learned that we were responsible for encircling them. He thought that the army was still in Natal and had not set out yet, so he ordered everyone to make a fire and cook.

If I'm not mistaken, there should be smoke rising from the rebel camp. The bombers can aim at the smoke and drop their bombs, and they'll hit the target every time.

Haha... Stupid guy, you are really courting death."

Rez Vazquez was instantly surprised when he heard this, and said in disbelief:

"Really?"

Then he quickly turned to look at the other person and said:

"Hurry up and contact the reconnaissance plane and ask them to confirm whether there is any smoke from cooking fires in the sky."

The other person was also surprised. He nodded and turned on the walkie-talkie on his back. After some communication, he quickly nodded to Rez Vazquez with a smile on his face and said:

"Yes, the reconnaissance plane can clearly see the smoke rising above the jungle. I have just informed them that the rebels are making a fire to cook, so they just need to aim at the location of the smoke and bomb it.

Hahaha... this really saves us a lot of trouble!"

Rez Vazquez also smiled when he heard this.

"Very good, then we will wait and see. Order everyone to continue laying mines and don't let the rebels break through the eastern defense line easily. Retreat another 500 meters and wait until the first round of bombing is over, then we will move forward to confirm the results of the battle."

"Understood Captain!"

The soldier nodded, turned around and continued to retreat eastward.

Rez Vazquez patted Osvaldo Vega on the shoulder and said:

"Come with us and stay away. Don't lose your life here."

Oswaldo Vega looked at Rez Vázquez with some surprise.

"Did you lay mines here? Why didn't I notice it?"

"Because you are lucky. If you accidentally step on a mine, not only will you be killed, but it may also expose our whereabouts."

Rez Vásquez smiled and patted the other person's shoulder. He really admired this guy's good fortune, but this might also be related to the fact that he came out to find a suitable place to mark, and was afraid of being discovered, so he always went to hidden places.

These words frightened Osvaldo Vega so much that he broke out in a cold sweat, realizing that he had just been so close to death.

He patted his chest nervously and said to himself, "Fortunately! Fortunately!"

After that, he didn't dare to run around anymore. He followed another soldier obediently and slowly retreated to a distance.

While evacuating, he realized that there were not only a few of them around the group. There were also a few figures like bushes walking around, laying mines and booby traps while evacuating.

The layout of the group was very messy and there was no pattern to follow, but they were often in some obvious gaps that were easy to pass through.

Obviously this is prepared for those rebel soldiers who are in a panic.

Shortly after Osvaldo Vega slipped out of the camp, the soldier in charge of changing guard in the rebel camp finally staggered to the outer sentry post and soon found the sentry sleeping beside a tree.

The soldier who was on duty did not notice anything unusual at first. He kicked the lying soldier in dissatisfaction. As a result, the other soldier fell straight to the ground. Then he realized something was wrong and hurried to check.

It would have been fine if he hadn't looked at it, but once he did, he was terrified, for the soldier had completely stopped breathing. Fortunately, there were no obvious injuries on his body.

Therefore, he judged that this guy did not die from an enemy attack, but most likely died from poison in the jungle.

But he did not dare to delay, and hurried back to the camp to report to his superior. Upon hearing this, his superior immediately reported to Bartlett Klo.

When Bartlett heard that the sentry might have died from a poisonous insect attack, he didn't care too much at first. After all, this situation was too common in the Amazon rainforest.

But soon, the same news came from the sentry in the west, which made him alert instantly. His hair stood on end. He had a very bad premonition and hurriedly said to the people around him:

"Hurry up and check with the other sentries to see how many sentries have had problems."

At this time, he already felt that things were not simple. There must be something wrong when things were abnormal. At this time, he had no choice but to be cautious. After giving instructions to the people around him, he quickly took the few people who came to report and rushed to the sentry position of the east side sentry post.

After checking for a while, he found no obvious external injuries on the sentry's body, which made him feel relieved.

But Bartlett Klo had a feeling that things were not that simple, so after thinking about it, he squatted down again and examined the body himself.

This time he finally found a tiny needle hole on the sentry's neck. As a veteran who had been in the Amazon rainforest for many years and was responsible for transporting contraband, he had certainly encountered hunters in the jungle.

Looking at the needle holes on the sentry's neck, he immediately realized something and his eyes narrowed. He unconsciously looked towards the dense forest in the distance, but unfortunately he didn't find anything unusual.

But when he lowered his head and took a look at the footprints on the ground, his pupils shrank involuntarily.

Just as he was about to speak, he heard a loud roar from above his head. Having seen the reconnaissance plane, his face turned pale instantly, and he ran towards the camp without thinking too much.
