Chapter 67 Ambush

Fang Lang didn't want to care about Harry's mood! He didn't want to fight internally. Anyway, I would fight the same with or without you. It was obviously impossible to expect the other party to cooperate with him in the fight, so he might as well take care of himself.

While Fang Lang was still arguing with the Harry, a communication from the command ship Callaghan suddenly came over the fleet radio:

"House, our ship just detected an abnormal signal at 068 direction, 27 nautical miles away. Now I order your ship to go and check."

Fang Lang was about to reply when he heard Harry's Reinhardt's voice on the communicator:

"Command ship, this is Harry. Our ship is close to the target area and is heading to search. Over!"

There was silence on the communicator for a while, and no one spoke. After a long while, Lieutenant Colonel Becky's voice came:

"Agreed. Harry, proceed to search. Please check carefully to ensure safety. House will continue to maintain the escort position. Over!"

No one knew what Reinhardt was thinking when he heard this reply, but Fang Lang couldn't help but curl up the corners of his mouth. After all, this was an obvious lack of trust in the Harry's capabilities!

Fearing that the situation from last time would happen again, Fang Lang originally found it strange that the Harry was obviously closer to the target, so why did the command ship order him to go and check? Now he understood, this clearly showed that they did not believe in the Harry's ability!

...

...

"Harry received! Over!"

A strange voice came from the communication channel. Fang Lang smiled and shook his head, then pressed the communication button in a calm tone and said:

"House received! Over!"

Then he pressed the ship's communicator and called:

"Combat Information Center, this is the bridge. Please respond, over!"

"Combat Information Center received, please speak to the bridge!" De La Torre's voice came.

"Didn't our ship detect the abnormal signal that the command ship just detected?"

"Report, we just detected an abnormal signal on our ship's radar, but it was only a flash, so we treated it as a malfunction and did not report it. Over."

De La Torre's voice clearly revealed his apology. It was indeed a mistake on his part.

Fang Lang was very annoyed, but considering that everyone had just come into contact with this equipment and could not express their emotions in the communicator, he said in a calm tone:

"This is the last time, over."

Although Fang Lang did not say too many words of blame, all the soldiers in the combat situation center could not help but straighten their backs and widen their eyes. The soldiers who had deliberately worn their headphones crooked because their ears were uncomfortable also put on their headphones.

Everyone's work attitude involuntarily straightened up. Everyone knew that this was their own work mistake. De La Torre fixed his eyes and said firmly:

"Please rest assured, boss. It won't happen again. Over."

"Mark the target area and keep an eye on it. I don't care what the Harry's investigation results are. We have to have our own results. Do you understand?"

"Understood, Boss."

After giving the order, Fang Lang put on a raincoat, walked out of the bridge, and looked at the dark night sky with a telescope. It seemed that a giant beast that could devour everything was hidden in the dark rainy night. The distance of 27 nautical miles was obviously not something that Fang Lang's telescope could observe.

Even in Fang Lang's telescope, the Harry could not be found. However, Fang Lang still held up the telescope and looked in that direction. Fang Lang did not know how long it had been, perhaps less than five minutes. Fang Lang suddenly turned around and said to the boatswain:

"Level 1 combat alert, close the watertight compartments, and the sonar will continuously monitor the left side of our ship."

The boatswain was obviously stunned. What was going on? However, he did not hesitate and directly sounded the level one combat alarm. In an instant, the House woke up again from its slumber.

After Fang Lang finished speaking, he turned his head again to look at the sea on the left. His sixth sense sounded the alarm again. This time the alarm was obviously more urgent than the last time. Fang Lang felt that there was a murderous aura locking onto him under the black sea not far away.

Without turning his head, he spoke again:

"All artillery ready, left side on alert, open fire freely if any unusual targets are spotted."

The communications officer behind him looked confused, but instinctively repeated the order loudly to the bridge:

"All guns on alert left, fire freely if target is sighted."

Then the guns on the House began to turn their guns and began to be on alert at the sea on the left. Everyone held their breath and dared not make any sound. They didn't understand what was going on. Didn't they just say that the enemy was 27 nautical miles away?

Fang Lang never put down the telescope in his hand. About three or four minutes later, when everyone thought it was a false alarm, Fang Lang suddenly crossed the bridge and came to the right side of the warship. He raised the telescope and found that a cargo ship was moving forward at a constant speed in front of him on the right. His warship was faster than it and would soon catch up with him.

Returning to the bridge, Fang Lang stood at the door of the sonar room, closed his eyes, and tried to calm himself down. He hoped that it was an illusion, but he knew that it was definitely not the case. There must be a hunter under the sea not far away waiting for the most appropriate time.

Suddenly, he remembered the abnormal signal just now, and the Harry left. The Thor on the right line of defense also went to track the German submarine that sent the communication signal, so now the fleet was protected by only three warships.

Fang Lang felt that he had grasped something, and there must be a connection between them. Suddenly thinking of something, Fang Lang blurted out:

"Lure the tiger away from the mountain!"

Everyone looked at Fang Lang, not knowing what he was saying, because Fang Lang was speaking Chinese, which no one understood. However, they didn't need to understand! Fang Lang knew that the ambush site was not in the K area at all. This was the ambush site, and they had already entered the ambush circle.

However, these are just Fang Lang's sixth sense and his analysis. Without actual evidence, it is impossible for Fang Lang to report that these are his own guesses.

Returning to the left again, Fang Lang glanced at the sea not far away, but still saw nothing. However, Fang Lang decided not to wait any longer. He raised the telescope, stared at the rough sea not far away and said:

"Let the 127mm naval gun fire a test round towards the sea on our left side."

After waiting for a while, he did not hear the messenger, so he repeated the order. He turned around and saw that the messenger was looking at him. When he saw him looking at him, he hurriedly said:

"Sir, where to shoot?"

Apparently his order was not clear enough and the messenger didn't know how to convey it.

Fang Lang smiled and said:

"Within ten nautical miles of the sea on the left!"

"Understood, sir. Off the left side of the sea, ten nautical miles away, 127mm naval gun, one test fire."

Although no one knew why, they still followed the order without hesitation. Soon, a 127mm naval gun on the bow fired directly at the sea on the left side.

Everyone was puzzled and didn't understand what this was for. But this one shot was like pouring a cup of water into a pot of hot oil.

Suddenly, a response came from the sea. The first person to sound the alarm was the sonar soldier, who shouted:

"Bearing 041, distance 7 nautical miles, two torpedoes."

Everyone shuddered at this shout and looked at Fang Lang in amazement, looking as if they had seen a ghost.

Fang Lang seemed to have expected this and rushed into the bridge and said:

"Full left rudder, bearing 041, full speed ahead. First mate, report the enemy situation to the command ship. Let's meet him. This hunter is a bit impatient! He came out at the first try."

When everyone in the bridge heard Fang Lang's words, they began to carry them out in an orderly manner. At the same time, they all stood in awe of Fang Lang, who was really amazing. Everyone looked at Fang Lang as if he were a god.

The sudden sharp turn and rapid acceleration caused the entire ship to tilt sharply. Everyone held on to the objects around them tightly. Fang Lang leaned sideways into the intercom and said:

"Combat Situation Center, have you found the target?"

"Report, no sightings for now, wait... bearing 041, distance six nautical miles, enemy sighting, probably a German U-boat. He surfaced."

"Keep searching, there must be more than one ship nearby, search carefully."

"Yes, boss!"

There were a few bangs on the sea outside, and then it suddenly became as bright as day. It turned out that the ship fired flares at the target area. Then, as if a hornet's nest had been poked, the entire House began a "boom boom boom" non-stop artillery attack.
