Chapter 290 Exposing
The ancestral hall was so quiet that you could hear each other breathing.
All eyes were on Fourth Aunt.
Aunt Si lowered her head, and the prayer beads in her hand stopped spinning.
After a long while, she slowly raised her head.
"Lanxin, you are slandering me."
Her voice was still gentle, but the smile had vanished from her eyes.
Fang Lanxin, who was "slandering" Fang Lanxin, walked to the table and picked up another document. "This is your Swiss bank account opening record, which has your fingerprints and signature on it."
“And this too.” Huo Siya stood up and placed her laptop on the table. “This is all the transaction records for that account over the past three years.”
“We have a clear understanding of where every penny went.”
On the large screen, a dense array of numbers began to scroll.
Every transfer and every recipient is clearly marked.
Auntie Si stared at the screen, her face growing paler and paler.
“Even if this account is mine, it doesn’t prove anything.” Her voice began to tremble. “Perhaps someone stole my identity.”
"Identity theft?" Fang Lanxin sneered. "And this?"
She snapped her fingers.
Kenneth Fok walked in from outside, holding a tablet computer in his hand.
"This is surveillance footage from the Huo family's old residence three years ago." Huo Qibang placed the tablet computer on the table.
The picture shows the kitchen of the old house.
Auntie Si, wearing an apron, was pouring something into a bowl.
She moved quickly, but the surveillance footage was very clear.
A small medicine bottle.
After pouring the medicine, she put the bottle in her pocket, picked up the bowl, and walked out of the kitchen.
Everyone in the ancestral hall gasped in shock.
Huo Zhenguo from the third branch of the family suddenly stood up. "This is the day Tianle had the accident!"
Fourth Aunt's face turned completely pale.
She opened her mouth, but couldn't say a word.
Fang Lanxin walked up to her and looked down at her.
"Fourth Aunt, is there anything else you want to say?"
Fourth Aunt's hands began to tremble.
The prayer beads fell from her hand and rolled to the ground.
"I...I didn't..."
"No!" Huo Qibang rushed forward and grabbed his fourth aunt by the collar. "Then tell me, why did my son suddenly fall ill!"
"Qibang!" Old Master Huo stopped him.
Huo Qibang released his grip, stepped aside, his eyes bloodshot.
Grandpa Huo looked at his fourth aunt with eyes full of disappointment.
“Suyun, you’ve been with the Huo family for over twenty years.”
Fourth Aunt's name is Li Suyun.
"I always thought you were an honest and upright person, but I never expected..."
Old Master Huo shook his head.
Li Suyun suddenly raised her head, and the gentleness on her face completely disappeared.
Instead, a twisted hatred has taken its place.
"Being dutiful?" she sneered. "I've been dutiful for over twenty years, and what have I gained?"
"The best house in the Huo family belongs to the eldest branch, the best business belongs to the eldest branch, and even the people you, Grandpa, love the most are from the eldest branch!"
"We, the fourth branch, have nothing!"
"Why should I be expected to be dutiful?!"
The ancestral hall was completely silent.
Fang Lanxin looked at her quietly.
This woman has finally revealed her true colors.
"So you're going to destroy the Huo family?" Huo Zhenguo of the third branch of the family said angrily.
"You've ruined the Huo family!" Li Suyun laughed loudly. "I just want to take back what's rightfully mine!"
"With such a vast fortune in the Huo family, why should only the eldest son's branch of the family be entitled to enjoy it?"
"I've worked so hard to take care of the old man for so many years, and in the end, I don't even have a position in charge!"
"I refuse to accept this!"
Old Master Huo slammed his hand on the table.
"Enough!"
His voice was full of authority.
"Li Suyun, you know the Huo family's rules."
“When you married into the family, I said that the Huo family rewards merit, and those who are capable will be promoted, while those who are not will be sidelined.”
"What skills do you have that make the Huo family give you a managerial position?"
Li Suyun gritted her teeth, unable to speak.
"And another thing," Old Master Huo stood up. "You must give me an explanation regarding Tianle's matter!"
"Explain," Li Suyun laughed. "What kind of explanation do you want?"
"That child is nothing but a good-for-nothing, there's no point in keeping him around. I'm just cleaning up the Huo family's mess."
"You!" Huo Qibang rushed forward and punched Li Suyun in the face.
Li Suyun fell to the ground, blood flowing from the corner of her mouth.
But she was still smiling.
"Go ahead and hit me, just kill me."
"Anyway, my life isn't worth anything."
Fang Lanxin walked over and squatted down in front of her.
"Fourth Aunt, you're wrong."
Li Suyun raised her head, her eyes full of mockery.
"I was wrong. Where did I go wrong?"
“You’re wrong; you underestimated the Huo family,” Fang Lanxin said. “You think you can devour the Huo family with a group of overseas investors?”
"You think that by sowing discord between me and Qibang, you can cause the Huo family to turn against each other?"
"You're too naive."
Li Suyun's smile froze.
"The Huo family has been able to establish itself in Hong Kong for so many years not because of internal strife, but because of unity."
Fang Lanxin stood up.
"Someone like you will never understand."
She turned to look at Old Master Huo.
"Grandpa, I suggest we call the police about Aunt Si's matter."
“The police have not closed the case of Tianle. Now that there is evidence, it is time for them to investigate again.”
Grandpa Huo nodded.
"We'll do as you say."
He looked at the butler beside him.
"Go call the police."
The butler turned and left.
Li Suyun collapsed to the ground, completely devastated.
"No...don't call the police..."
She crawled to Old Master Huo's feet.
"Grandpa, I was wrong, I was really wrong..."
"Please, don't call the police..."
Old Master Huo turned his head away, refusing to look at her.
“Li Suyun, you have harmed Tianle. This debt must be settled.”
"It wasn't me! It wasn't me!" Li Suyun suddenly screamed. "It was Huo Zhenhong! He made me do it!"
Everyone in the ancestral hall was stunned.
Fang Lanxin narrowed her eyes.
Fourth Uncle
"Yes! It's all his fault!" Li Suyun cried out as if grasping at a straw. "He's the one who told me to put the poison in Tianle's soup!"
"He said he was just letting the child take a nap, who knew such a big thing would happen!"
"And that money, he made me transfer it too! I know nothing about it!"
Huo Qibang kicked Li Suyun.
"You bitch! You're still lying at a time like this!"
"I didn't lie!" Li Suyun clutched her stomach. "Go ask Huo Zhenhong where he is now!"
Fang Lanxin took out her phone and dialed a number.
"Awen, where is Fourth Uncle now?"
"Mr. Fang, Fourth Master went to Macau three days ago," Huo Wen's voice came through the phone. "I heard he went to meet a business partner."
"Find out who he met."
"yes."
After hanging up the phone, Fang Lanxin looked at Li Suyun.
"You say your fourth uncle instructed you, do you have any evidence?"
Li Suyun was stunned.
"I……"
"Without evidence, it's a frame-up," Fang Lanxin said coldly. "Fourth Aunt, are you trying to drag Fourth Uncle down with you?"
Li Suyun collapsed to the ground, her eyes filled with despair.
Just then, the sound of police sirens came from outside the ancestral hall.
The police arrived.
Fang Lanxin walked to the window and looked at the police car parked outside.
All of this is finally coming to an end.
The police took Li Suyun away.
The people in the ancestral hall gradually dispersed, leaving only Old Master Huo, Fang Lanxin, and Huo Qibang.
Old Master Huo sat in the chair, looking much older than he had been.
"Lanxin".
"grandfather."
"Thank you for your trouble with this matter," Old Master Huo sighed. "These people have completely disgraced the Huo family."
