Chapter 10 Can you afford to pay the compensation?
Huo Fu was startled, but still felt that Fang Lanxin was more admirable now.
“What Madam says is true, Young Master can definitely do it.”
Huo Fu smiled, then opened the car door and invited Fang Lanxin to get in.
"Let's go check out the Hong Kong Gallery."
After Fang Lanxin got into the car, she gave a brief instruction.
Art was not originally within the Huo family's investment scope, but Fang Lanxin just loved it so much that she invested some pocket money in a gallery with a promising future, and now it's time to go and take a look.
Before the car even started, a loud crash was heard, and Fang Lanxin was slammed into the front seat, almost flying out of the car.
"Madam, are you alright?" Huo Fu was startled and hurriedly got out of the car to check on Fang Lanxin's condition.
"It's nothing." Fang Lanxin came back to her senses, rubbed her temples, and looked behind her.
After confirming that Fang Lanxin was alright, Huo Fu immediately walked towards the back of the car.
"You little brat, you're asking for it!"
The vehicle that hit Fang Lanxin was a motorcycle. The boy on the motorcycle took off his helmet, revealing his wild and untamed features.
He got off the motorcycle, and was a full head taller than Horford.
"I didn't mean to, what do you want?"
The boy snorted coldly, holding his helmet, and raised an eyebrow at Huo Fu, his every move exuding a free and unrestrained spirit.
Fang Lanxin was somewhat interested in his primal wildness and unruliness. Although she was well-maintained, she was still over forty years old, and she had a good impression of this kind of fresh blood and even longed for it.
Fang Lanxin opened the car door, got out of the car, and walked to the boy's side.
With his sharp eyebrows and bright eyes, the young man was handsome and rugged, a sight to behold on the street. The disdain and fearlessness in his eyes were something Fang Lanxin found fascinating.
"May I have your name?"
Fang Lanxin withdrew her gaze and asked calmly.
"Lingye!"
The boy seemed somewhat impatient.
He looked at Fang Lanxin with a hint of urgency: "It was a rear-end collision, I'm fully responsible, name your price!"
Name your price.
"You little brat, open your eyes and look carefully! This is a Bentley! You couldn't afford it even if you sold it!"
Hoffer could no longer contain himself and burst into a rage.
He had been by Fang Lanxin's side for many years and was not an impatient person. The main problem was that the young man's attitude was too arrogant, and he had no sense of responsibility for doing something wrong.
Ling Ye came from a humble background and didn't recognize such a luxury car, but he could judge its price based on Huo Fu's reaction.
He looked at Fang Lanxin, tilting his head back: "I can't afford to pay for it, you should call the police."
"No need for that."
Fang Lanxin smiled, then took out her business card and stuffed it into his breast pocket.
"This is my phone number. After you get back, contact me and be my driver for a month as compensation."
Ling Ye was somewhat surprised. He raised an eyebrow and looked Fang Lanxin up and down, discovering that the woman was covered in designer brands. The bag on her wrist alone was something he could never afford in his entire life.
"Aren't you afraid I'll renege on my debt?"
Ling Ye deliberately gave a wicked smirk, making a shameless face.
When people are extremely insecure, they tend to be exceptionally rude.
However, Fang Lanxin, having been reborn, had long since shed her worldly impurities and would not be angered by the young man's offense.
"Whatever you want."
Fang Lanxin smiled slightly, then turned around and got into the car.
After the car drove away, Ling Ye finally came to his senses, took the business card from his pocket, snorted coldly, put on his helmet, and continued on his way.
"Madam, I'm afraid this young man won't admit to it."
"Young people value their pride more than anything else."
Fang Lanxin could tell that Ling Ye came from a humble background, but he was obsessed with saving face.
Indeed, a boy his age is at the age when he cares most about his reputation.
Besides, it's just a car, why make such a fuss?
Huo Fu glanced at Fang Lanxin through the rearview mirror, but didn't say anything more. He simply drove to the gallery in silence.
The gallery was just as Fang Lanxin had imagined, only not as large as she had thought, but the paintings inside were all of good quality.
"This painting is nice; the brushstrokes are delicate, and the colors are vibrant. Take it back."
Fang Lanxin selected two paintings, and after the transaction was completed and she was sure that the gallery was operating smoothly, she got into her car and went home.
The Huo family mansion.
Fang Lanxin saw the unhurried young man leaning against his motorcycle at the door. A smile unconsciously appeared on her lips as she raised an eyebrow and said, "Look, here he is."
"Yes, Madam is indeed farsighted." Huo Fu hadn't expected his son to arrive so quickly.
The car stopped at the gate, and Fang Lanxin rolled down the window and looked at Ling Ye.
"You're here?"
Ling Ye casually grabbed a handful of his messy hair and said arrogantly, "One month it is, I won't renege on the debt, but I have a competition at night, so I can only drive for you during the day!"
"Can."
"Afu, take him to register."
Fang Lanxin naturally wouldn't personally concern herself with a driver's affairs. After saying this, she rolled up the car window, passed Ling Ye, and drove straight into the Huo family mansion.
Ling Ye stood there, at a loss for what to do for the first time, and could only wait silently.
After a while, a servant came over and led him into the Huo family mansion, talking about the Huo family's rules along the way.
As soon as Fang Lanxin entered the room, she saw the uninvited guest sitting on the sofa. The joy on her face vanished instantly, replaced by a cold expression.
"Sister-in-law! You're finally back!"
Huo Zhenxiong, the second son, stood up abruptly and walked up to Fang Lanxin.
His face was full of anxiety, but Fang Lanxin already knew why he had come. She simply nodded calmly, then walked past the anxious Huo Zhenxiong and sat down on the sofa next to him.
The maid brought over the jujube soup at just the right moment and handed it to Fang Lanxin.
Fang Lanxin gracefully took it, took a small sip, and frowned: "Too sweet."
"Yes, Madam, I'll redo it right away." The maid was trembling with fear and hurriedly took the jujube soup and left.
The more elegant and unhurried she appeared, the uglier Huo Zhenxiong's expression became.
"Sister-in-law, don't be in such a hurry!"
Huo Zhenxiong stepped forward again and spoke urgently.
"Ah Xiong, you've lost your composure. Where has the Huo family's manners gone?"
Fang Lanxin looked at Huo Zhenxiong with dissatisfaction and immediately began to lecture him.
"Sister-in-law, Qiang has been arrested by the police!"
This time, Huo Zhenxiong softened his tone, but he still couldn't hide his anxiety.
"Oh? When did this happen? Hmm, how come I didn't know?"
Fang Lanxin raised her eyebrows slightly, feigning surprise, and stared at Huo Zhenxiong.
Huo Zhenxiong felt a little guilty under her gaze, coughed, and said, "It's a misunderstanding at the dock. Sister-in-law, you have to help Qiang!"
"Misunderstanding? How could there be a misunderstanding?" Fang Lanxin asked again, her eyes filled with clear confusion: "What exactly happened?"
