Chapter 426 Not Worth It

[Okay, it doesn't matter whether Qin Yanzheng believes it or not. In my opinion, there's no need to tell him those messy plots, because the fate of the Qin family, except for my deceased mother-in-law, has already been changed after I intervened.]

It wasn't that I didn't want to save my mother-in-law; it's that I hadn't arrived here yet, and I hadn't yet lived in the Qin family as the original owner of this body.

So that's how it is. He lives in a world created by a novel, and his wife, Song Lan, must have read the book before she came into this world and became his wife. That's why she knows about his and his family's fate.

But what my wife said about her coming into this world and what would happen to her is not the original plot. Could it be that there are other people who have the same experience as her and come from another world?

In other words, the appearance of that person disrupted the original plot, leading to a new story.

But whether it's the original storyline or the storyline that's been disrupted, he and his family are just background characters, cannon fodder!

So what were the fates of "Song Lan" in his two lifetimes?

That's probably not a good idea...

Otherwise, his wife wouldn't have appeared in this lifetime, and her appearance and intervention would have changed his and his family's fate.

As his thoughts drifted to this point, Qin Yanzheng was deeply moved.

Song Lan, his wife, saved their family's life!

In other words, she is a great benefactor to the Qin family!

A smile involuntarily crept into his heart. Qin Yanzheng realized he was being too attached to appearances—was it really necessary to overthink things? Absolutely not, not at all!

When he first heard Song Lan and his wife's innermost thoughts, didn't he already know that the little girl was their family's savior?

"What are you thinking about, laughing and shaking your head like that?"

Song Lan noticed the strangeness in the man's expression and couldn't help but ask a question out of curiosity.

"Want to hear the truth?"

Qin Yanzheng curled his lips into a smile, his dark eyes filled with laughter, and he raised a single eyebrow.

What do you think?

Song Lan kicked the ball back to the opponent.

Qin Yanzheng laughed out loud: "Actually, it's nothing. I just remembered a funny thing that happened when my second brother was a child."

Song Lan was skeptical of the man's explanation, but she didn't raise any objections or press him further. She simply listened as he said:

"Qin Yanzheng, I said before that we, as husband and wife, should be honest with each other, but there's something I haven't planned to tell you until now. You won't blame me, will you?"

Before Qin Yanzheng could respond, Song Lan continued, "The thing I've been keeping from you is a little secret of mine. It doesn't involve anyone in my family. It's just that I didn't know how to tell you. It's that simple. Now, can you tell me what you think?"

"Then I won't say."

Qin Yanzheng knew exactly what Song Lan meant by "little secret"—her background. He saw a smile playing on her lips, and her tone was filled with undisguised doting affection as she said:

"Everyone has their own little secrets that they don't want to tell others, even couples. Even if they are supposed to be honest with each other, there are some secrets that one party doesn't know how to say or doesn't want to say. The other party should understand."

Of course, this is all predicated on the premise that this little secret won't cause any problems in the relationship because of not knowing how to tell it or not wanting to tell it. As for other things, I personally think they're not a big deal.

"You're very insightful!"

Song Lan smiled.

Qin Yanzheng chimed in, "I have to keep up with my wife."

His young wife is both insightful and outstanding in every way, and he doesn't want to hold her back!

"Since you're so eloquent, why don't you say a few more words?"

Song Lan glanced at the man.

Qin Yanzheng laughed out loud: "My wife is a doctor with extraordinary skills, and she is also very knowledgeable, gentle and elegant, and insightful. It's as if she has a very clever mind. Being able to spend my life with her is my greatest blessing. In the rest of my life, as her partner, I will try my best to learn from her and not bring shame to her in public."

Hearing this, Song Lan was pleased. She gave the man a coquettish look and said, "Put less honey on your lips."

Qin Yanzheng: "..." What does my wife mean?

Song Lan happened to be looking at the other person, understood the meaning in his eyes, and said, "Don't you find your sweet talk too cloying?"

Upon hearing this, Qin Yanzheng was slightly taken aback, then sighed deeply: "It's so hard to be a person. I'm clearly telling the truth, but my wife misunderstands me. It's really distressing!"

Shaking his head, Qin Yanzheng sighed again.

"Don't talk nonsense. We're about to enter the courtyard. I don't want my parents and older and younger brothers to laugh at me again."

As the two approached the courtyard gate, Song Lan lowered her voice and gave the man a warning to stop him from spouting mushy, nagging remarks.

"Yes, my wife!"

Qin Yanzheng gave a response, feigning seriousness.

Song Lan couldn't help but chuckle and said, "Be serious."

Qin Yanzheng hooked Song Lan's finger: "Okay, I'll listen to my wife."

"If you keep doing this, I might really make you sleep in the study later."

Song Lan deliberately gave the man a "threatening" look, and then said, "Don't keep calling me 'wife' in public. Do you want to embarrass me if others hear it?!"

"You're my wife, so what's so embarrassing about it if anyone hears this?"

Qin Yanzheng didn't take it seriously, but to avoid making Song Lan angry, he went along with her and said, "Okay, I'll be more careful so you won't feel uncomfortable in front of others."

-

The couple stepped into the courtyard.

"I'll go to the kitchen to lend a hand to my older brother and sister-in-law."

Passing by the kitchen door, Song Lan saw Song Qingbin tending the fire and Feng Yuanyuan busy cooking. She stopped and said something to Qin Yanzheng.
