Am I envious?
Dean Su rolled his eyes and said, "Lanlan arrived in Beijing this afternoon. Before coming to the inpatient department, Lao Chen and I took her to her dormitory and settled her in, thinking we'd let her get some rest."
I was supposed to do some checkups for you old folks tomorrow morning, but Lanlan, wanting to know your specific situations as soon as possible, said she wasn't tired and asked me to bring her to the inpatient department.
"And you all, all you do is spout nonsense. How can you do this to Lanlan for sacrificing her rest time..."
Before Dean Su could finish speaking, Song Lan's smiling voice rang out: "Dean Su, you're too kind. I'm really not tired, so I wanted to come and find out about Grandpa Lu and the others as soon as possible."
Without a doubt, she was helping Grandpa Luo and the other three out of a tight spot. Well, to put it bluntly, Song Lan was actually trying to ease the awkward atmosphere in the ward.
After all, because of what Dean Su said, the four of them, including Grandpa Luo, were looking at her apologetically, and their expressions revealed a little unease.
"You have a good temper, but from today onwards, those four old guys are your patients. Take Grandpa Su's advice: don't feel embarrassed in front of them, just treat them like ordinary soldiers."
If they don't rest properly as you say, or don't take their medication correctly, just scold them directly; don't hold back.
Dean Su smiled and looked at Song Lan: "These four old guys are nearly three hundred years old combined, but anyone who really knows them knows that they are actually old rascals."
At this point, Dean Su turned his gaze to the four people, including Old Master Luo, and raised an eyebrow, asking, "Do you have any objections to what I said?"
"You're so capable, so powerful. On your turf, whatever you say goes!"
Old Master Luo snorted coldly and arrogantly stopped looking at Dean Su.
Song Lan suppressed a laugh and said, "Alright, everyone in this ward is my elder. I know that what Dean Su just said was simply because he was worried about your health, Grandpa Luo. He hopes you can cooperate with me for the examination."
That way, I can tailor a surgical plan based on your individual circumstances. I imagine none of you four gentlemen wouldn't envy my grandparents' good health, right?
"Good boy, come and examine me first. Just tell me what you need to do."
Grandpa Luo immediately made his stance clear: he wanted to live a few more years to see the country's development momentum.
"Old Luo, you're so clever!"
Grandpa Lu glared at Grandpa Luo, then said to Song Lan, "Lanlan, after you finish examining Old Luo, examine me. Just tell me what you need me to do."
"Hey! Lao Lu, Lao Luo, you two are both so cunning! You didn't even say hello to me and Lao He before asking Lanlan to do the check-up first. You've really gone too far!"
Grandpa Jiang glared at Grandpa Lu and Grandpa Luo, and said something to them in an annoyed tone.
Grandpa He didn't get involved. He got out of bed and walked towards Song Lan, saying, "Child, do you think I should sit in the chair, or come with you to the office that Old Man Su arranged for you to have the examination?"
"I'm here to get a general understanding of the situation of you four gentlemen. The specific examinations will be conducted tomorrow when we start work."
Song Lan smiled, but still invited Grandpa Luo to sit down in the chair in front of the table. She then sat down in another chair and said, "Let me take your pulse first, Grandpa He."
On the side, Grandpa Lu, Grandpa Luo, and Grandpa Jiang all looked at Grandpa He in disbelief. None of them expected Grandpa He to do such a thing.
Dean Su glanced at the three men, including Old Master Lu, his shoulders shaking uncontrollably, clearly trying to suppress a laugh.
"On the way to the inpatient department, I heard Dean Su mention that you still have a fragment of a bullet in your waist..."
After taking Old Master He's pulse, Song Lan withdrew her hand. Instead of talking about the pulse diagnosis, she began to mention the bullet fragment that she had learned from Dean Su about the remaining bullet fragment in Old Master He's body.
"That's exactly right, child. Do you think I'm suitable for surgery?"
Grandpa He asked Song Lan.
"I can perform this surgery, but before the surgery, you need to take better care of your body. At the very least, you need to stabilize your high blood pressure. Otherwise, unexpected complications may occur during the surgery."
Upon hearing Song Lan's words, Grandpa He immediately responded, "Alright, alright, I'll listen to you. I'll do whatever you say you want me to do."
"Okay, I'll make a treatment plan for you later."
The moment Old Master He approached her, Song Lan activated her "Golden Eyes," so she could clearly see the current state of the bullet fragment remaining in Old Master He's waist.
Compared to the surgery performed on Mrs. Chen, Mr. He's surgery was not difficult.
Once her high blood pressure is under control, she will have no problem removing the bullet fragment.
"Get up, get up, it's my turn. You old man, hurry up and move over."
That's Grandpa Luo's voice.
Old Master He glanced at Old Master Luo sideways: "Didn't you say you'd had enough of living? What's the rush now?"
"Hey Lao Luo, don't talk nonsense. When did I ever say such a thing?"
Who would want to die young if they could live a good life?
Old Master Luo glanced resentfully at Old Master He, and the moment Old Master He stood up, he plopped down in a chair, not forgetting to give Old Master Lu and Old Master Jiang a smug look.
Song Lan found it amusing, but said nothing. After taking the pulses of Grandpa Luo, Grandpa Lu, and Grandpa Jiang, she concluded that only Grandpa Luo was fit for surgery.
