Qin Yaxin did not take the other party's threat to heart.
The night was quiet. Song Lan led the way according to her memory, with Qin Yanzheng following closely behind her.
After several twists and turns, the two finally stopped in front of a secluded courtyard house in the middle of the alley.
"Is this it?"
Qin Yanzheng asked.
Song Lan gave a soft "hmm" and said, "To avoid alerting them, let's climb over the wall."
Before Qin Yanzheng could respond, she moved to the wall she had climbed over when she rescued Zhai Qiu earlier, then took a few steps back, ran, and with a light and graceful figure, she climbed over the wall in Qin Yanzheng's astonished gaze.
Actually, Song Lan didn't need a running start, since she had internal strength. She only needed to gather her energy slightly to use her lightness skill to leap to the other side of the wall.
But to avoid Qin Yanzheng overthinking, she had no choice but to use the most ordinary method.
Even so, Qin Yanzheng was still dumbfounded.
For Qin Yanzheng, a grown man, scaling the wall wasn't difficult. Suppressing his astonishment, he easily climbed over the wall, and then heard Song Lan whisper:
“My second sister is locked in the cellar. I’m going to rescue her. You stay in the yard and watch out for the kidnapper to escape by jumping over the wall in desperation.”
"Should I go? You wait here!"
Qin Yanzheng didn't want Song Lan to be in danger.
“You know my skills, there’s no way I’ll get hurt, but it’s a different story if you go to save someone. Listen to me, we don’t need to argue about who’s better in this.”
As soon as the sound faded, Song Lan tiptoed toward the location.
It should be noted that after Gu Xingchen went down into the cellar, he pulled the wooden planks back into place, so there was not a single light in the desolate and dilapidated courtyard.
Fortunately, the night provided some light, so Song Lan used the moonlight to approach the cellar step by step.
When she got closer, she noticed a faint light coming through the gaps in the wooden planks covering the cellar, and she could vaguely hear voices.
Song Lan couldn't help but become serious, knowing that she must not act rashly at this moment, otherwise, the kidnappers in the cellar might do something to Qin Yaxin.
After a moment of contemplation, Song Lan felt she needed to make some noise to lure the kidnapper out of the cellar, then quickly subdue him in order to successfully rescue her sister-in-law, Qin Yaxin.
In the cellar, Gu Xingchen heard a noise above. He immediately gagged Qin Yaxin again, then blew out the oil lamp and carefully climbed up the wooden ladder, while keeping his ears perked up.
Time passed quickly, and there was no more sound. This made Gu Xingchen's tense nerves relax a little, but he didn't dare to let his guard down, so he waited quietly on the wooden ladder for a while longer.
Could it be the rats making the noise?
Despite these thoughts, Gu Xingchen still couldn't completely put her mind at ease.
He decided to go out of the cellar to take a look.
If anything seems amiss, they can escape smoothly.
To avoid being caught in a trap in the cellar!
He gently moved the wooden plank away, gradually revealing the opening. The faint moonlight shone through, ensuring that Gu Xingchen wouldn't be blind.
He came out of the cellar, and before he could even straighten up, he felt a strong gust of wind behind him. The next moment, a sharp pain spread from the back of his neck.
Gu Xingchen knew he had been ambushed!
However, knowing is one thing, and reality is another. For example, he lost all consciousness at this moment and collapsed to the ground.
"System, I remember there are flashlights in the system shop. Can you redeem one with your points?"
The flashlight that Song Lan wanted was naturally the kind used in this era, simply because she didn't want to have to explain herself to others over such a trivial matter.
So, it's never a bad thing to be cautious!
[Yes, host!]
The system responded, and soon, a flashlight appeared in Song Lan's hand.
Push the switch, and the flashlight immediately shines a beam of light.
"Mmm~"
When Qin Yaxin saw the light above the cellar, tears welled up in her eyes. She struggled and made sounds.
Song Lan could hear the sounds coming from the cellar clearly thanks to his exceptional hearing.
She shone her flashlight into the hole and, unsurprisingly, saw Qin Yaxin with her hands and feet bound and her mouth gagged, struggling to get up.
Without the slightest hesitation, Song Lan went down into the cellar.
"Second Sister!"
After removing the foreign object from Qin Yaxin's mouth, Song Lan quickly untied the ropes from her.
As soon as Qin Yaxin regained her freedom, she burst into tears and threw herself into Song Lan's arms.
"Alright, alright, sister-in-law, I know you've suffered. Let's go upstairs first and then talk about other things."
Patting Qin Yaxin gently on the back, Song Lan said softly, "Your older brother is waiting for us upstairs!"
"Sister-in-law, sob sob~"
Qin Yaxin couldn't stop crying.
"It's alright, it's alright, you're safe now!"
Song Lan patted Qin Yaxin's back gently again to comfort her.
“Lanlan…”
It was Qin Yanzheng's voice. He arrived at the cellar entrance and saw a person lying on the ground. His face instantly turned as cold as ice.
There was light coming from the cellar, along with voices and cries. Qin Yanzheng recognized the voices as those of Song Lan and Qin Yaxin.
He immediately called out softly.
"My second sister and I will be up right away!"
Song Lan replied, then said to Qin Yaxin, "Second sister, you go first, I'll be right behind you."
Bending down to pick up the rope from the ground, Song Lan raised her flashlight to illuminate Qin Yaxin's path.
Qin Yaxin nodded, hiccuping as she cried.
"Tell me what exactly happened today?"
Qin Yanzheng watched Qin Yaxin leave the cellar, his expression cold, and immediately asked a question.
"Second sister is emotionally unstable right now. You can ask her anything after she calms down."
As soon as Song Lan came out of the cellar, she said something to Qin Yanzheng. Then she tied Gu Xingchen's hands with a rope, pressed an acupoint on him, and then lifted him up to stand up.
