Will he laugh at me? Will he think...think I've fallen for him? But...but it's true, I have indeed developed feelings for Qin Yanzheng, I just don't know how he feels about me.
Song Lan's thoughts were quite active at the moment. Little did she know that in another room, Qin Yanzheng had heard her thoughts clearly.
"Comrade Qin, you must have encountered something happy!"
Putting the basin under the bed, Wu Dong got up and looked back at Qin Yanzheng. He noticed that the other man had once again curled his lips into a smile, and a faint smile had appeared on his usually aloof and handsome face. This undoubtedly made him even more curious.
"You must be tired after a long day, you should get some rest."
Qin Yanzheng deliberately didn't respond. He glanced at Wu Dong indifferently and then looked away.
However, Wu Dong laughed and said, "It must be related to Comrade Song, right?"
Upon hearing this, Qin Yanzheng retorted, "You talk too much."
"Yes, yes, I was too talkative. I'll go to bed now and not disturb Comrade Qin's continued enjoyment." Wu Dong acted quickly, lying down on the bed almost in the blink of an eye. However, he did not immediately pull the light cord.
[Forget it, I don't need to dwell on Qin Yanzheng's attitude towards me now. If... if he regains his mobility and asks for a divorce, that would be understandable. After all, he was forced to marry me in the first place, and I can't keep making the same mistake and prove myself 'ungrateful'!]
The temperature on her face dropped, and Song Lan took her toiletries and left the room, no longer dwelling on the strange feeling in her heart.
But Qin Yanzheng felt uneasy.
Ingratitude?
Is she saying that marrying him was "biting the hand that feeds her"?
How could you have such a thought?
Yes, he reluctantly agreed to the marriage and married her, but the moment he nodded and their marriage was settled, he never thought about divorce.
It seems I need to find a time to talk things out with her, so she doesn't keep thinking that I'm "ungrateful," that he's unhappy with their marriage, or that he might end their relationship someday.
The next morning, Song Lan and Qin Yaxin had a simple breakfast at home before setting off for Shisong Village.
Qin Yanzheng didn't want his wife to suffer, so he asked Wu Dong to borrow a women's bicycle from Director Zhang's house and handed it to Qin Yaxin. Needless to say, he wanted Qin Yaxin to ride the bicycle herself.
In other words, Song Lan rode the women's bicycle from home, while Qin Yaxin rode the one borrowed from Zhang's factory.
Qin Yaxin had no objection.
Song Lan was a little worried and said she could take Qin Yaxin on her bike, but Qin Yanzheng and Qin Boyan both disagreed. Qin Boyan even said that he didn't want Song Lan, his sister-in-law, to get tired.
They even said Qin Yaxin was heavy, which made the two little ones cover their mouths and giggle, but Qin Yaxin glared at them fiercely.
"Sister-in-law, how about we tie that blue travel bag to the back of my car?"
The two women, sister-in-law and aunt, were riding their bicycles through the town when Qin Yaxin suddenly said something.
"Need not."
Song Lan shook her head.
Two large travel bags were strapped to the back of her bicycle, while two large cloth bags and a net bag hung on the handlebars. However, the total weight of these items did not seem like much to Song Lan.
It doesn't affect her cycling at all!
"Have we ridden about halfway?"
Knowing that no matter what she said, her sister-in-law Song Lan wouldn't tie the travel bag to the back seat of her car, Qin Yaxin simply stopped talking about that topic.
She knows what's good for her.
Knowing that Song Lan's disagreement was simply because she was afraid of affecting her cycling, Qin Yaxin was naturally moved.
"Yes, it will be about seven or eight minutes from the village entrance."
Song Lan responded.
Upon hearing this, Qin Yaxin said "Oh," and suddenly, remembering something, she asked, "Sister-in-law, are there any educated youth in your village?"
"have."
Song Lan answered.
"Which village did Song Jiaojiao go to work in during her rural assignment?"
Qin Yaxin asked again.
"you do not know?"
Song Lan glanced at the other person.
Qin Yaxin: "My sister-in-law didn't say anything at home."
"Didn't I say that?" Song Lan asked, puzzled. Seeing Qin Yaxin shake her head, she couldn't help but think for a moment before asking, "Didn't your second brother mention it to you?"
"No.
Qin Yaxin shook her head.
Song Lan: "Song Jiaojiao did indeed work in Shisong Village. If you encounter her in the village, just pretend you didn't see her. Don't act impulsively and get into an argument with her."
Qin Yaxin: "What if she picks a fight with me first?"
"Probably not."
There's always a chance something might happen, and Song Lan couldn't offer any guarantees.
"Sister-in-law."
"Um?"
"Are your parents—no, I mean your uncle and aunt—treating Song Jiaojiao well these days?"
“Song Jiaojiao has long since severed ties with my family.”
"So that means your uncle and aunt are ignoring Song Jiaojiao now, right?"
"Um."
"That's great, that's how it should be!"
Qin Yaxin said, "Song Jiaojiao's family treats you badly, so if your uncle and aunt still treat Song Jiaojiao well, I'll feel indignant on your behalf!"
"Then tell me where you went wrong."
As Song Lan finished speaking, Qin Yanzheng said, "I shouldn't have said things you didn't like to hear just because I didn't want you to suffer."
"..."
What does this mean?
Song Lan was stunned. After a while, she came to her senses and felt her cheeks burning.
It's because I feel sorry for her!
He felt sorry for her, which is why he said things like, "You'll have to work hard again tomorrow," and "I'm the eldest son in the family..." which made her overthink things.
Realizing she had misunderstood Qin Yanzheng, Song Lan couldn't help but feel awkward. She looked away from him, coughed twice, and then looked back at the man. "I'm sorry, I misunderstood!"
