Chapter 443

Lin Jianshe paused for a moment, watched the car drive away, then quickly hopped on his bicycle and rode after it.

A black sedan was driving ahead, and Lin Jianshe was chasing after it on his bicycle, but how could a bicycle possibly catch up with a sedan?

Within minutes, Lin Jianshe could even see the back of the car.

But he dared not be slow, afraid that his uncle would arrive at the restaurant first and wait for him.

Even in the dead of winter, Lin Jianshe rode his bicycle and worked up a sweat.

Li Bowen arrived at the Beijing Grand Hotel first. The hotel's greeter, seeing that he arrived in a car, knew his identity was obvious.

He walked into the restaurant and said directly to the greeter, "I'd like a quiet private room."

"Yes, sir, please follow me."

The hostess led the way, and Li Bowen followed her into a small private room on the second floor.

Upon entering the private room, Li Bowen took off his coat, which was then taken by the greeter and hung on the coat rack in the room.

Just then, a waiter brought in tea, and the greeter, who was about to leave, was stopped by Li Bowen.

“A young man in a black cotton coat will be here soon. Tell him to come directly to the private room.”

"Yes, sir."

"Hello sir, this is our restaurant's menu. Would you like to see what you'd like to eat?" The waiter then brought in tea, placed the tea on the table, and then put the entire menu in front of Li Bowen, pouring him a glass of water.

Li Bowen flipped through the menu and ordered, "I'll have a red wine braised beef, a braised lion's head meatball, a crab roe tofu, a pea sprout soup, and a bowl of rice."

After ordering, Li Bowen handed the menu to the waiter.

"Okay, sir, please wait a moment."

The waiter left, and Li Bowen took off his suit jacket, hung it on the hanger, unbuttoned the sleeves of his white shirt, rolled up the sleeves, and revealed his well-defined forearms.

He sat back down in his chair, picked up his teacup, and took a sip.

He needs to eat his fill, otherwise he won't have the energy to beat up that ingrate Lin Jianshe later.

Li Bowen came back to Beijing to attend an emergency meeting, which was scheduled to start at 9 a.m. tomorrow. He wanted to surprise his family, so he didn't tell them in advance that he was coming back today.

I never expected that no one would be home today, and that I would run into that ungrateful Lin Jianshe.

Bo Yan had also called Lin Guodong to tell him about his shameless insistence on recognizing his relatives. He only regretted that he was there at the time and hadn't been able to slap Lin Guodong twice.

It's clear that fate brought him together with Lin Jianshe today to make up for his regret of not having beaten up Lin Guodong before.

After riding desperately for forty minutes, Lin Jianshe finally arrived at the Beijing Grand Hotel.

He locked the bicycle with the chain and walked into the Beijing Grand Hotel with trembling legs.

The Grand Hotel in Beijing was so far away that he was exhausted from riding it. His legs were sore and weak, and his buttocks were also very sore.

Li Bowen deliberately chose such a faraway restaurant so that he could give Lin Jianshe some appetizers first.

"Hello..."

Lin Jianshe had barely uttered those two words, panting, when the greeter emerged from behind the reception desk and said to him, "Hello, please follow me."

Lin Jianshe was taken aback. He hadn't even said who he was looking for, so why had the greeter let him go with him?

He quickly realized what was happening, slapped his head, and realized that his uncle must have greeted the guests.

He's really gone crazy from riding his bike.

Although it was Lin Jianshe's first time visiting the Beijing Grand Hotel, he was not in the mood to appreciate it at that moment.

His uncle must have arrived a long time ago, and he's probably getting impatient waiting for him.

Suddenly he remembered something and stopped the greeter to ask, "What's the mayor's surname again?"

The greeter glanced at him and said, "Your surname is Hao."

Lin Jianshe: The mayor of Beijing also has the surname Li. So, where is his uncle the mayor?

He walked to the door of the private room, filled with questions.

"Knock knock knock..."

The greeter raised his hand and knocked on the door.

"Enter."

The host pushed open the door to the private room, and Chonglin Construction gestured for them to enter.

Lin Jianshe entered the private room and saw that Li Bowen had already eaten quite a bit. He was taken aback and asked, "Uncle, you've already eaten so much?"

Li Bowen put down his chopsticks, picked up a napkin from the table, wiped his mouth, and turned to look at Lin Jianshe. "What, do you expect me to wait for you on an empty stomach?"

A sense of oppression washed over Lin Jianshe, making his brow twitch.

He quickly waved his hand and said with an embarrassed smile, "Yes, that's what I meant. Uncle, if you're hungry, of course you can eat first. You're the elder, so there's no reason for you to wait for me, a junior. It was because I rode too slowly that you had to wait."

"Well, I'm not hungry at all, it's okay to eat," Lin Jianshe said, patting his stomach.

There were only a few scraps left on the table, and he couldn't eat them anymore.

Although on his way here, he had thought about what the food at this grand hotel that caters to foreign guests would taste like.

Seeing the empty teacup on the table, Lin Jianshe, whose throat was parched from cycling, poured himself a cup of tea.

The taste of the tea made him raise an eyebrow. The tea in this fancy hotel was just like everyone else's, much better than the coarse tea his father usually drank. No wonder these rich and high-status people liked to drink tea; it turns out that good tea tastes so good.

"Uncle, what's your name? Are you my eldest uncle or my second uncle?" Lin Jianshe naturally pulled out the chair next to Li Bowen and sat down.

Li Bowen turned to look at him and said, "My name is Li Bowen, and I'm the eldest in my family."

Lin Jianshe said with a smile, "Then you are my eldest uncle. I only knew that I had an uncle who was a military commander, but I didn't know that I also had an uncle who was a mayor."

"Uncle, where are you the mayor? Is it our Kyoto City?"

Li Bowen shook his head. "Yes."

"Where is that?" Lin Jianshe pressed.

Li Bowen: "You really want to know?"

Lin Jianshe nodded, "Of course, you're my uncle, so I naturally want to know more about you."

“Uncle, you think exactly the same way I do,” Lin Jianshe said, looking at Li Bowen.

"Oh?" Li Bowen laughed. "How come they're the same?"

Lin Jianshe said, "My mom must have said bad things about me to you guys, right? Saying how unfilial I am, how ungrateful I am. I thought when you saw me, you would believe my mom's words and hit me!"

"But you didn't hit me. You even cared whether I had eaten and took me to the Grand Hotel in Beijing for dinner."

Although he didn't eat any.

"How did you know I would hit you?" Li Bowen asked with a smile.

Lin Jianshe: "Huh?"

"Smack."
