Chapter 23 A Talkative Person with Many Problems

The next day.

When Lin Wei was about to go out to buy groceries at 5:30 in the morning, she saw the two Gao children already waiting at the gate of her yard as soon as she opened the gate.

"Sister Weiwei."

"Xiaoling, Hongye? What are you two doing here so early?"

Wu Xiaoling said, "My mom knows you go grocery shopping every morning, so she told us to wait and go with you."

"Oh dear, Aunt Gao, you've woken you all up so early." Now that everyone's up, we can't just send them back. "Then come with me, but you don't need to come grocery shopping with me tomorrow, I can manage on my own."

Before, it was fine for one person to buy groceries, but now the quantities have doubled, so it's actually a bit difficult for one person.

Carrying a large pile of groceries, Lin Wei expressed her heartfelt gratitude, "Thank you all so much for today. I wouldn't have been able to get all this back without you. You probably haven't had breakfast yet, right? I bought some toppings to cook noodles when I get back."

Wu Xiaoling quickly refused, "No need, Sister Weiwei, we can do it ourselves at home."

"No need to be so polite. I was going to make breakfast anyway. I'll bring a bowl back for your grandma later too, so you won't have to cook again."

Hearing Lin Wei's words, the siblings exchanged a glance and silently followed behind her.

How could Lin Wei not understand why the siblings refused?

There is an elderly person with paralysis at home. What will happen to the elderly person if they eat out?

But Lin Wei wasn't a philanthropist. She had thought it over. She was only paying one person's wages. Judging from Aunt Gao's attitude, it was basically the two siblings helping her together. So, adding an extra bowl of noodles was nothing to her. It would make people remember her kindness. Why wouldn't she do such a thing?

Once home, Lin Yuan had already tidied herself up, and the Su brothers and sisters were already waiting for her.

Upon seeing the Gao siblings, the three children quickly greeted them, "Sister Xiaoling, Brother Hongye, you're here so early! My mom told me yesterday that we'll all work for Sister Weiwei from now on, so we'll have jobs too."

Lin Wei put down the dishes and quickly instructed, "You guys be careful. You're underage, so you can't work. Don't mention to anyone that you're rich. Just say you're helping me for free and I'll provide you with meals."

"I remember, I remember, we'll only talk about it in the courtyard, we won't tell anyone else."

Su Sijin was shrewd. He knew he was too young to do much work, and what if an older person came and took his job?

He had already planned how to spend his salary, so he dared not mention it outside, lest he give others a chance.

Turning around, the group followed Lin Wei into the kitchen.

"Sister Weiwei, what are we having for breakfast?"

"Shredded pork noodles, and an egg for each of you." After saying that, Lin Wei added, "Xiao Ling, go to your house and get three bowls. Once they're cooked, you can decide who takes them home. You two kids, bring your own bowls too."

Lin Wei was generous; after the noodles were cooked, there was plenty of shredded meat, and each person had an egg in their bowl.

After all, she felt that only when she was well-fed would she have the energy to use.

Lin Wei is a good cook; even noodles taste delicious. The three children ate the noodles heartily, and after finishing, they voluntarily washed everyone's bowls.

Lin Wei thought the morning would be very busy, with all the ingredients doubled. However, she didn't expect the two Gao children to be so capable. They prepared all the ingredients even earlier than yesterday.

"I really got my money's worth. One salary for two people, and they're doing such a good job. Come on, bring your bowls, I'll serve you your food, we have to go."

After preparing lunch for the Gao family, Lin Wei took the three children to the stock market building.

The three children know that they are different today than they were yesterday, and each child carries a natural sense of responsibility.

The three children took turns eating, guarding the money, and counting the money.

Lin Wei didn't need to give any instructions at all; the food stall proceeded smoothly without any problems.

Until all the ingredients were sold out, there wasn't a single problem; it went incredibly smoothly.

Lin Wei sat by the roadside, finishing her lunch last.

But as she ate, she asked curiously, "Sijin, Si'an, Xiaoling and Hongye, are they always so quiet? It feels like they haven't said much all morning, just kept their heads down and worked."

Su Si'an thought for a moment, "Well, my older brother and sister are both very nice, but they don't seem to talk much."

Su Sijin was clearly more quick-witted. He explained, "I heard my mom say that after their father passed away, the neighbors always bullied them, and their classmates at school wouldn't talk to them either. It just got like that over time."

"Classmate...? Never mind, do the neighbors bully them too? Who is it?"

"Uncle Wang, who has argued with Aunt Meng and Sister Weiwei, lives in the house across from yours. Uncle Wang is so annoying. He pokes wherever it hurts. Before Sister Weiwei came, Brother Hongye even fought with Uncle Wang."

This surprised Lin Wei. The fourth-grade child was 9 or 10 years old, and Wu Hongye hadn't even grown tall yet. How could he fight with an adult?

Knowing Lin Wei was curious, Su Sijin didn't even need her to ask. He said, "That night, after Sister Xiaoling finished taking a shower, she came out to get some water and bumped into Uncle Wang craning his neck to look at her from outside her yard. Sister Xiaoling was startled, and Uncle Wang said some very... very unpleasant things. Then Brother Hongye came out and beat him up."

Su Si'an continued, "But Brother Hongye was no match for Uncle Wang. He was pushed to the ground in an instant, but he held onto Uncle Wang's leg and kept biting until he bled..."

"And then what?" Lin Wei asked hurriedly, "How was this resolved?"

"Uncle Wang wanted to pursue the matter, so Aunt Gao compensated him, and only then did Uncle Wang let it go. My mother was so angry about this that she scolded him at home for several days, so we remember it very clearly."

"That person is really annoying." Lin Wei pouted, then suddenly remembered something, "I remember last time when I argued with Xiao Wang, someone helped me by saying that someone was peeping outside the yard..."

Su Sijin quickly said, "That person is Aunt Gao. Aunt Gao wasn't cooperating; it's all true. That's why Uncle Wang is especially afraid that Sister Weiwei will call security. Once they ask, these things will be brought up, and he's afraid."

Lin Wei nodded thoughtfully, "I just said it casually during our argument that day, I didn't expect it to backfire. But Su Sijin, you're just a kid, don't you know too much?"

Su Si'an laughed and said, "Haha, my mother also talked about him, saying that he has a sharp tongue and is always meddling in everything."

Su Sijin wasn't upset when he heard his brother say that. "If I didn't know so much, Sister Weiwei wouldn't have anyone to ask. I'm the one who's helping her."
