Xu Damao let out a sigh of relief and hurriedly said, "Uncle, Brother Chu, you two chat, I'll go out for a bit." After saying that, he quickly walked out as if he were escaping.
Chairman Lou shook his head and sighed as he watched Xu Damao's retreating figure.
Li Chu found a stool and sat down, looking at him and asking, "Chairman Lou, what can I do for you?"
After thinking for a moment, Chairman Lou asked, "Mr. Li, was the medicine that Da Mao brought over the other day made by you?"
Li Chu first said, "I shouldn't be addressed as 'Mr. Lou,' you can just call me Doctor Li." Then he added, "That medicine was indeed made by myself. Mr. Lou, is there anything wrong with it?"
Chairman Lou waved his hand: "There's no problem. What I wanted to say was, Dr. Li, have you considered mass-producing this medicine?"
Why produce them in large quantities? Of course, it's to sell them and make money. This Chairman Lou is a natural businessman; after just one dose of the medicine, he's already keenly thought of making money.
Li Chu smiled after hearing this: "Chairman Lou, where do you plan to produce it? And where will you sell it?"
"Of course, it's overseas!"
Li Chu shook his head: "Chairman Lou, I have never thought about going abroad."
After listening to Li Chu's words, Chairman Lou thought for a moment, and then cautiously asked, "Have you ever thought about selling this prescription?"
“Chairman Lou, to tell you the truth, even if I give you the prescription, you still won’t be able to mass-produce it.” Li Chu shrugged and continued, “There are two ingredients that are very hard to find. Let me tell you about one of them, and you’ll understand: a century-old ginseng.”
After hearing this, Chairman Lou's eyes widened. How could they possibly play this game? These century-old ginsengs are extremely rare and hard to come by.
But he was still a little unwilling to give up: "Can't we use other medications instead?"
"Maybe there is, but I don't have that ability."
Chairman Lou then spoke up, "Dr. Li, could you sell me the prescription? You can name your price."
"Heh," Li Chu chuckled lightly, looking at him without saying a word. He thought to himself, "You're probably just daydreaming."
Chairman Lou noticed the way Li Chu was looking at him, and his expression became a little embarrassed. After thinking for a moment, he finally spoke up, "Could you sell me some more medicine?"
Li Chu thought for a moment, then took out a paper bag containing medicine from his pocket and placed it in front of Chairman Lou: "These are the last 20 pills. I don't have any more here."
After asking for 10 yuan, Li Chu said goodbye and left.
Li Chu really disliked dealing with this person. He was too greedy. As a businessman, he should have been successful, but Li Chu genuinely disliked this kind of person.
As soon as he stepped outside, he saw Xu Damao squatting and smoking in the connecting corridor across the street. When he saw Li Chu come out, Xu Damao stood up. Li Chu was too lazy to talk to him, so he pointed at him and went back to the front yard.
Xu Damao scratched his head in annoyance. He knew Li Chu was a little angry with him. He had just told her not to say anything to him, but then she brought him home.
But what could he do? His future father-in-law was asking, and he couldn't just not tell him.
Xu Damao was about to go back when he saw Chairman Lou come out. He quickly ran up to Chairman Lou and said, "Uncle, please sit for a while longer."
"No, I have some things to take care of when I get back," Chairman Lou said before walking out.
Xu Damao followed closely behind, seeing Lou Dong off into the car that was waiting outside the alley.
When Li Chu got home, he didn't say much to Ding Qiunan, just that he was buying medicine, and then gave the 10 yuan to his wife.
As soon as I sat down on the sofa, I saw the puppy trembling as it slowly walked on the floor.
"Qiu Nan, look! Little Black is recovering pretty quickly."
Ding Qiunan ran over and squatted down next to the puppy, then played with it for a while.
Seeing that the puppy had finished drinking all the porridge he had scooped out that morning, Li Chu picked up the bowl to scoop out some more porridge for it.
After thinking for a moment, I took out a box of luncheon meat, intending to feed the dog some. I cut off a small piece, then chopped it up completely and mixed it into the porridge. After putting the bowl on the ground, Xiao Hei wobbled over to the bowl and started eating again.
The afternoon passed by while Ding Qiunan did needlework and Li Chu read a book.
He's growing to love this leisurely, quiet life more and more. If it weren't for the fact that reality wouldn't allow it, he'd probably retire already.
Ding Qiunan will be starting work tomorrow, and Li Chu still has one day off. He plans to take his wife to work tomorrow and see her work environment.
For dinner, Li Chu steamed a large pot of dumplings, which smelled delicious and filled Ding Qiunan's stomach until it was round and full.
Li Chu smiled happily at his wife's appearance, which earned him a series of eye rolls.
After finishing their meal, Li Chu took the puppy outside into the yard and guided it to relieve itself there.
Then he took Ding Qiunan for a walk outside. They had been sitting all day, and it was time to get up and move around.
When the two turned back and entered the courtyard, Ding Qiunan was startled by a series of pitiful screams.
Reaching out and grabbing Li Chu's arm, she asked, "Li Chu, what's wrong?"
"It must be the second uncle in the backyard starting to discipline his son again," Li Chu said nonchalantly.
Ding Qiunan stared at Li Chu with wide eyes after hearing this: "Is this how you discipline your son? I feel like you're beating up an enemy."
Li Chu was amused by Ding Qiunan's words and pulled the girl into his home.
After returning to the room, Li Chu sat on the sofa, and Ding Qiunan sat on his lap as well.
Li Chu adjusted the girl's sitting posture, comfortably put his arm around his wife, and then said, "That second uncle beating his son is already normal practice. Didn't you see that no one in the yard came out?"
Ding Qiunan nodded in her husband's arms after hearing this: "Yes, it seems like everyone is used to it, but why does Second Uncle beat his son like that?"
"This second uncle in our courtyard really wants to be a leader, but because he's not very educated, he hasn't even managed to become a group leader. So, he can only show off his power in front of his son."
He paused for a moment and then said, "The second uncle and his wife are quite biased towards the eldest son, Guangqi. The second and third sons are treated like they were adopted, and they are beaten and scolded every day."
Ding Qiunan still found it somewhat unbelievable, but since it was someone else's family matter, outsiders shouldn't interfere, so she just treated it as a joke.
The girl nestled in her man's arms for a moment, then looked up and whispered, "Li Chu, I want to take a shower."
Li Chu seemed to have heard something extraordinary. He looked down at his wife, who was a little embarrassed by his gaze. She lowered her head, not daring to look at him, and her ears turned red.
Li Chu, making sure he hadn't misheard, chuckled and said, "Yes, Your Highness, just wait and see."
After saying that, he put the girl on the sofa and then ran off to the bathroom to boil water.
After heating the water in the bathroom, he ran to the kitchen to light the coal stove and put it under the chimney to warm up the bedroom.
Ding Qiunan sat on the sofa, watching her husband running around, a happy smile on her face.
