Zhang Meng quickly went through the admission procedures. Back in the ward, Gu Mingtai had regained consciousness, but because of the serious injuries he had suffered, he looked very weak.
"How are you? Is it in pain?" Seeing him struggling to sit up by himself, Zhang Meng hurried forward to help him.
"It's okay, it doesn't hurt at all. Don't listen to the doctors here. I know my body well. After a day or two of rest, we'll be discharged and go home."
Gu Mingtai patted the back of her hand to comfort her. Zhang Meng gently slapped his hand away. Between his words and the doctor's, she believed the doctor's words more.
"I don't care if you're seriously injured or not. I only believe the doctor's words. We'll do whatever the doctor says. Don't try to lie to me."
Gu Mingtai smiled helplessly. Well, it seemed that during the time he was unconscious, his wife was brainwashed by the doctors here.
Just then, a doctor in a white coat walked in.
The three people's eyes met, and what a coincidence, this person turned out to be one of the people who were in Qingxin Temple not long ago.
When the old doctor saw that it was them, he excitedly walked over and introduced himself. "What a coincidence, you two, do you remember me? We met not long ago at Qingxin Temple. My name is Sheng Liyuan, you can just call me Old Shengtou."
"What a coincidence! You are the doctor here!" Considering that Gu Mingtai's injury would depend on someone else later, Zhang Meng had to respond with a polite smile.
"I'm not only a doctor here, but also the dean. Someone just called my office and told me to come to this ward to see a patient. At first, I wondered who was so influential as to ask that person above me to call. Now that I see it's you, I finally understand."
Zhang Meng blinked her eyes in confusion, "What do you mean? Why us? You finally understand."
Sheng Liyuan chuckled at her, pointed at her with one hand, and said, "Girl, you don't really not know, do you? Although your talisman paper is kept by Taoist Wuxin of Qingxin Temple, everyone who went there this time knows that it is a good thing. I guess there are already many people who want to get a piece of this talisman paper from you."
Zhang Meng immediately looked at Gu Mingtai, who was silent and sullen. Sheng Liyuan glanced at the two of them and said with a smile, "Okay, enough talking. I'll treat his injuries first. We can talk later if we have anything to say."
Finally, after watching him treat Gu Mingtai, Zhang Meng realized that the old man in front of her was actually a qigong master.
An hour and a half later, after the Qigong session, Sheng Liyuan was already sweating profusely. "It's not a big deal anymore. What needs to be repaired has been repaired. From now on, I just need to take the medicine properly and strengthen the repair process, and I'll be fine."
Seeing the man soaked in sweat, Zhang Meng felt a little embarrassed for him. "Thank you."
"What are you thanking me for? Treating patients is what we doctors should do. By the way, this comrade is seriously injured. He needs more nourishment and don't be too frugal." After giving these instructions, Sheng Liyuan left the ward.
After seeing the patient off, Zhang Meng re-entered the ward and immediately saw Gu Mingtai, who had been able to sit up on his own in bed. She immediately walked over happily and said, "I didn't expect that old man Sheng's skills were quite powerful. With this one use of his power, your illness is almost healed."
Gu Mingtai moved his arm and felt much more comfortable than before he entered the hospital.
"Don't be fooled by his harmless appearance. He is not a simple person. He is so nice to us. He must have other intentions. Be careful with him." Gu Mingtai warned.
"I know. Do you think I'm really a simple little girl? I know I have to be on guard against people. Don't worry." Zhang Meng raised her head and said confidently. Seeing her like this, Gu Mingtai smiled helplessly.
Later, while Gu Mingtai was asleep, Zhang Meng went to the hospital cafeteria. As soon as she entered, it was quiet and no one was there to get food.
"Want to get some food?" Just as she was wondering, a head suddenly popped out of the cafeteria window, almost scaring her to death.
"Why didn't you warn me in advance? I was so scared." Zhang Meng complained, patting his chest. "There are so many things to do. Let me ask again, do you want to get food?"
At this time, Zhang Meng saw clearly that the person who stretched out his hand was a big, fat man. She guessed that he should be the chef of the restaurant.
Zhang Meng was frightened by the murderer and trembled a little. He whispered, "It's for food. What do you have here?"
“There are vegetables.”
Zhang Meng waited for a while, but he didn't say anything more, so she immediately asked, "What else?"
The fat man sneered, a mocking look flashing across his chubby face. "What else? It's good enough to have vegetables to eat."
Zhang Meng was furious at his attitude towards customers. "No wonder no one eats here. I think they're scared away by your aggressive look."
The fat man's expression froze, and he suddenly put down the rice spoon in his hand with force. He roared back with wide eyes, "What do you know? This is not my fault. This place is haunted. I advise you to finish your meal and leave quickly, otherwise you will be haunted by ghosts."
When Zhang Meng heard the word "haunted", her eyes lit up immediately. She came up to him and curiously asked him to talk. "Haunted? What kind of ghost is it? Tell me quickly, why is there a ghost here?"
The fat man looked at the bold woman in front of him and said, "I say, are you still a woman? Usually women would run away in fear when they hear the word 'haunted'. But you don't seem scared at all. Instead, you seem very interested."
