Chapter 15 There's a ghost

Looking at Zhang Yu pretending to be dead again, Zhang Meng shook his head and smiled. He first found a place to rest and ate the dry food he brought with him. After resting for a while, he continued to head up the mountain.

Halfway through the journey, Zhang Meng discovered that the road leading to the top of the mountain was blocked by a group of People's Liberation Army soldiers.

After looking around and confirming that this was the only way into the mountains, Zhang Meng had no choice but to bite the bullet and move forward.

Before he could get close, he was stopped by the PLA comrades guarding there.

"Stop, what are you doing here?" Zhang Meng stepped forward and replied with a smile, "Hello, PLA uncle. I came here to pick herbs. Can you let me in?"

"Collecting herbs? No, this mountain has been requisitioned by us. You'd better go collect herbs somewhere else." The PLA comrade replied.

Seeing that the other party was completely unwilling to let them go, Zhang Meng was in a dilemma and had no idea where the three dogs came from.

Just when she was about to pull her hair out in anxiety, a familiar voice came from the top of the mountain, "What happened?"

The PLA comrade immediately replied respectfully, "Reporting to the battalion commander, it's a female comrade who wants to go up the mountain to collect herbs."

After hearing this voice, Zhang Meng didn't remember it at first. It was not until the voice sounded again that she remembered why she felt the voice was so familiar. Wasn't this the voice of the handsome man who helped her last time?

"Hello, it's me, Zhang Meng. We met last time, do you remember?"

In order to save people, Zhang Meng didn't care about anything else now. He walked past the PLA comrades and ran to the front and shouted loudly to the man standing on the mountain.

Gu Mingtai, standing on the mountain, frowned, his heart moved slightly, and then the corners of his mouth rose slightly. It seemed that this was a destined thing and he couldn't avoid it even if he wanted to.

"I know who you are. Let her come up." Gu Mingtai ordered the PLA comrade who was stopping Zhang Meng.

Seeing that the PLA comrade who was stopping him was stunned for a moment, Zhang Meng quickly pushed him away and ran up himself.

Soon, Zhang Meng stood in front of Gu Mingtai, grinning shyly at him, "Hello, we meet again."

"Yes, I didn't expect that we would meet again so soon. What are you doing here?" Gu Mingtai asked with a smile.

"One of my brothers is sick. He came to this mountain before he got sick. I suspect he has evil spirits entering his body and has come into contact with something he shouldn't have, so I came here to see if I can find a way to cure him."

Zhang Meng briefly explained to him the reason for coming here.

After hearing this, Gu Mingtai pursed his lips and said, "So your brother was among the group of people who came here to rob the tomb the night before last."

"Tomb robber? How is that possible? My brother is a hunter. How could he be a tomb robber?"

Gu Mingtai smiled and asked, "How much do you know about your brother?"

Zhang Meng was stunned by his question. To be honest, she didn't know much about San Gou. She only knew that he was a hunter.

Seeing that she didn't answer, Gu Mingtai smiled and said, "Let's go, I'll take you up." After that, he turned around and walked up the mountain.

Zhang Meng was stunned for a moment, then quickly followed him and walked towards the mountain.

When you reach the top of the mountain, there is a flat grassland, and after walking for a while, you will see a large cave.

Zhang Meng followed him into the cave in front.

As soon as he entered the cave, Zhang Meng discovered that this cave was their base.

There are a lot of instruments inside, and many people are working inside.

"There is a big tomb in here. We originally planned to explore the situation before going in, but after the gang of tomb robbers came the night before last, we had to go down early. You came at the right time, just when we were about to go down. Do you want to go down with us to find out what's going on?" Zhang Meng looked at the smile on his face. She felt as if he had guessed that she wanted to go down.

She quickly put the thought behind her. Now was not the time for her to think about this.

"Of course we have to get off. Shall we get off now?"

Gu Mingtai was not surprised at her decision at all and nodded immediately. "Yes, let's go down now. When we go down later, follow behind me. Remember, don't walk around randomly, because we can't predict what's in there."

"I know. I'll be careful."

Not long after she gave her instructions, a comrade from the People's Liberation Army came to inform them that they could prepare to go to the grave.

Zhang Meng, who had been following Gu Mingtai, only then realized that the entrance to the tomb was in the cave where they were now.

No wonder they set up their base here, it turns out it was because of this reason.

Soon, Zhang Meng and others who were walking at the back were able to move forward safely with the help of the pathfinders in front.

But when they were almost at the entrance of the tomb, the group of people walking in front of them suddenly started to make an unusual commotion.

"Stand here, I'll go over and take a look." As the main leader here, Gu Mingtai wanted to go forward to check the situation, but he was worried about Zhang Meng who was following him. Seeing that he was the only one here, Zhang Meng's heart skipped a beat and immediately shook his head, "No, I'll go with you."

"Are you sure you want to go with me? There may be danger waiting ahead!" Gu Mingtai did not persuade her, but just smiled and looked at her.

Zhang Meng pursed her lips and smiled, "Since we've come down here, there must be danger everywhere. If I were afraid, I wouldn't have come down with you."

Gu Mingtai smiled and said, "Okay, follow me."

Zhang Meng was stunned and didn't come to her senses to catch up until he had taken several steps.

After walking a few steps, Gu Mingtai turned around and realized that the woman behind him had not caught up. "What's wrong?" He looked at her puzzledly and asked.

Zhang Meng came back to her senses and shook her head. "Nothing. I just didn't expect you to agree to let me go so quickly. I thought it would be difficult to convince you to let me go."

"I may seem difficult to talk to on the surface, but I'm actually a very sensible person. Since you're coming, I know it's useless for me to persuade you any more, so I might as well agree to let you come along." Gu Mingtai smiled and explained why he agreed so quickly.

Zhang Meng looked at his back and smiled. She didn't expect this man to be so interesting.

The two of them, one in front and one behind, quickly walked to the front of the PLA group that was making the commotion. "What's going on?"

As soon as he came over, Gu Mingtai asked the soldiers who were in chaos.

"Battalion Commander, there is something ahead. We, we saw it, it was a ghost. It was so scary." The PLA soldier who answered was as pale as a piece of white paper.

"Yes, yes, we saw it too. It was so scary. It was a female ghost. She was smiling at us and asked us to come in and play with her. We were scared to death. Battalion Commander, let's not go in. It's so scary." Another soldier said with a panicked look on his face.
