In the end, Gu Mingtai and the chatty Sheng Liyuan stayed in the same tent. After setting up camp, their dinner for the night was quickly delivered.
A can of meat and a compressed biscuit.
After taking a bite of the compressed biscuit, Zhang Meng found it difficult to eat. It was too bitter in her mouth and the biscuit scratched her throat so hard that it hurt.
Zhang Meng closed the uneaten compressed biscuit and stuffed it into the hands of the man next to her.
Gu Mingtai, who was munching on compressed biscuits and canned meat, looked up at the opened pack of biscuits that suddenly appeared in his hand, frowned, and asked, "Why aren't you eating anymore?"
Zhang Meng shook her head. "No, it's too dry and scratches my throat."
Gu Mingtai put down what he was holding and turned to go to the tent where he would stay tonight.
After a while, he had a bag in his hand.
"Here, eat this. I'll get you some game to fill your stomach tomorrow." Zhang Meng opened the bag he handed her, and inside were two cold meat buns.
"You brought this!" Looking at these two white and plump meat buns, Zhang Meng had never felt how tempting they were as at this moment.
"I prepared this in advance because I was worried that you wouldn't have enough to eat along the way." In the firelight, Gu Mingtai's usually stern face looked a little more gentle.
Zhang Meng raised the corner of her mouth. If there wasn't someone else next to her, she really wanted to kiss him on the face.
Suppressing the excitement in her heart, Zhang Meng whispered in his ear, "Thank you, Gu Mingtai."
The affectionate look of the young couple made Liao Qingting and Sheng Liyuan, who were standing next to them, feel uncomfortable. They curled their lips and turned their heads away without saying a word.
After eating, around ten o'clock, someone in front of us shouted that we should go back to the tent and sleep.
Soon, except for the people who were on night watch, everyone else outside went to rest early in preparation for tomorrow's departure.

When they woke up the next day, they all seemed to be in good spirits.
Breakfast was the same as last night, a can of meat and a pack of compressed biscuits.
Although she had known this for a long time, Zhang Meng still couldn't feel happy when she saw these two things.
She doesn't want to eat two things!
Just then, there was a commotion in the crowd ahead. Liao Qingting hurriedly said, "I'll go check it out."
As soon as she finished speaking, she ran to the front.
Zhang Meng ignored all this and turned to look at Sheng Liyuan who was eating a biscuit. "Mr. Sheng, where's Gu Mingtai? Why haven't I seen him?"
As Sheng Liyuan spoke, biscuit crumbs flew all over his mouth. "I don't know. He wasn't there when I woke up. I guess he went out for a walk."
Zhang Meng nodded without saying anything more, but seeing how hard he was eating, she couldn't bear it and handed him the water bottle she had on her body, "Mr. Sheng, you should drink some water."
Sheng Liyuan happily took it and said, "Thank you, Zhang Meng."
Zhang Meng was about to answer when Liao Qingting's excited voice suddenly came from behind her, "Zhang Meng, Zhang Meng."
Zhang Meng turned her head and saw her running towards them with a smile on her face.
"Hurry, come with me!" Without even taking a breath, Liao Qingting pulled Zhang Meng and ran again.
Zhang Meng ran behind her and wanted to ask her what was wrong several times, but seeing how she was panting, she had to stop.
But she soon found out why Liao Qingting was so excited.
There was a large group of people gathered in front of her, and in the crowd, she saw the man she had been looking for.
"Make way, make way." Liao Qingting pulled Zhang Meng into the crowd.
Zhang Meng squeezed to the front and saw a deer being taken care of on the ground.
Or just died.
"Your man is really good at fighting." Liao Qingting suddenly came over and said this in Zhang Meng's ear.
Zhang Meng immediately glanced at Gu Mingtai who was watching people packing up. Coincidentally, he was looking at her and smiled at her.
Because we had some venison in the morning, everyone finally didn't have to eat compressed biscuits in the morning. Everyone got a piece of venison weighing about half a pound.
Although it was just a simple cooking method, everyone present ate it as if they hadn't eaten meat in decades, and kept shouting that the meat was delicious.
