Wang Qingliu's face darkened, and he shouted at her back as she stepped forward, "Who are you calling a young man? I'm not much older than you, okay?"
Zhang Meng ignored the voice behind her and went straight to the doctor who was chatting with a pregnant woman. "Excuse me, is this Doctor Liu?"
The woman who was chatting with the woman in labor turned around and saw Zhang Meng. She was stunned for a moment, then quickly smiled and nodded. "Yes, I'm Doctor Liu. Who are you? What can I do for you?"
Zhang Meng immediately continued, "It's true. We have something we want to discuss with you. Could you please come over there and talk to me for a few words?"
Doctor Liu smiled again, and that smile was as warm as the sun. "Okay, no problem. Wait a moment, I'll talk to my patient and then I'll be right back."
Zhang Meng nodded and walked to the quiet corner and stood there.
Seeing this, Wang Qingliu quickly turned around and walked over to her side. "How is it? Did you find out anything?"
Zhang Meng rolled her eyes at him, "How can it be so fast?"
Wang Qingliu looked at her and rolled his eyes at him, then chuckled. Just as he was about to say something, an apologetic voice rang out from behind him, "I'm so sorry to have kept you waiting."
He turned around and found that it was the female doctor they were looking for. Wang Qingliu quickly swallowed the words that were on the tip of his tongue, stood in front of Zhang Meng, and immediately turned into a follower to guard her.
"It's okay, we just got here." Zhang Meng smiled faintly at her.
Doctor Liu looked at the two of them and asked, "What do you want to talk to me about?"
Just as Wang Qingliu was about to speak, Zhang Meng pulled his arm.
Then her voice rang out, "I have something I want to ask Doctor Liu. I wonder if Doctor Liu still remembers the four pregnant women, Zhang Caihua, He Guifang, Tian Dani, and Gao Jinfeng?"
The doctor's face immediately showed a hint of sadness. "Of course I remember. They died tragically. It was my fault that I couldn't save them."
Wang Qingliu couldn't bear to see such a gentle aunt sad, so he quickly comforted her, "Auntie, this is not your fault, and you didn't want to do this."
Zhang Meng glared at him for being too talkative and immediately asked, "Doctor Liu, do you remember what happened? Can you tell us the details?"
Doctor Liu said quickly, "Okay, no problem. Here's what happened: these four were my patients. I delivered them as usual, but later in the birthing process, something strange happened to their bellies. The babies suddenly crawled out of the pregnant women's bellies on their own, and their nails were all pointy. It looked terrifying."
As he spoke, Dr. Liu looked as if he was very scared, and he folded his arms and trembled.
"Where are the four babies?" Zhang Meng continued to ask, as if she didn't see her fear.
"Dead, they are dead. They died not long after they came out."
After answering, Dr. Liu looked at Zhang Meng with a pale face, "I have said everything I need to say. If there is nothing else, I will go to do my work first."
With a forced grin, Dr. Liu hurriedly left the corner.
"Doctor Liu must be frightened too. Look at her face, it's as pale as paper." Wang Qingliu said sympathetically, looking at her back.
Zhang Meng glanced at the figure from behind, then quickly retracted her gaze, rolling her eyes at Wang Qingliu. "Have you forgotten what I said? Some things can't be judged by appearances alone. This Doctor Liu isn't who we see him to be. Let's just stay here today. I have a feeling something's going to happen tonight."
Wang Qingliu opened his mouth, but seeing that she had left again, he had to swallow his words back into his stomach and followed her with a bitter look on his face.
The two of them stayed on guard until late at night. Wang Qingliu yawned several times while sitting in the police car. Looking back at the energetic woman, Wang Qingliu felt as if he was getting old.
Zhang Meng, who had been staring at the delivery room on the second floor of the hospital, suddenly opened the car door and said to Wang Qingliu who was sitting inside, "Don't sit there, get in quickly."
Wang Qingliu sighed, and before she could finish her words, she was already in the hospital.
In the delivery room on the second floor, because it was late at night, there were very few people guarding there.
