Xiao Bao raised his head with swollen eyes and hugged Zhang Meng, "Sister Xiao Meng, can't you just not leave? I really don't want to leave you."
Zhang Meng looked at Xiaobao at her feet and her eyes turned red. She really treated Xiaobao as her other younger brother. Now that she was about to leave, she was really reluctant to let him go.
She was even more worried that when she was not here, Xiaobao would be bullied by Zhang Xiaohu's family again.
"Promise your sister that you will take good care of yourselves. If your grandmother's family bullies you again, you will bully them back. If you encounter any trouble that you can't solve, go to the xx waste collection station and find a big brother named Wu Da. Tell him my name and he will help you."
Xiao Bao's tears were still falling, and she bit her lip and nodded desperately, "I know, Sister Xiao Meng, don't worry about me, I will take good care of myself."
The time of departure always comes soon. No matter how reluctant we are, the time of departure still comes.
A family of five took a bus passing by the village entrance to the railway station in the county town.
There were still quite a few people at the train station at this time.
The family squeezed through the crowd for a while before getting on the train to City S.
Not long after getting on the train, Zhang Meng didn't expect that Grandma Zhang would get trainsick.
"Grandma, try one of these and see if it makes you feel better." Zhang Meng took out the sour plums she had prepared and handed one to Grandma Zhang.
Grandma Zhang, who was half lying down, had no energy on her face and her complexion was a little pale. "Don't worry about me. I just need a good rest. You take care of Xiao Tao and the others."
Zhang Meng didn't say anything. She glanced at Xiao Tao and Xiao Hu who were already asleep, and took out a thin blanket from the luggage bag to cover them.
"Girl, do you have anything to eat? I'm starving!" Monk Jingchen rubbed his stomach which had been hungry for a long time and asked Zhang Meng pitifully.
Seeing him rubbing his stomach, Zhang Meng remembered that they seemed to have eaten since they got on the train.
"Yes, wait a moment, I'll get you something to eat." Zhang Meng quickly bent down to rummage through the luggage bag she brought up.
After a while, he took out a bag of dried meat.
"Eat this first. When the train stops, I'll go outside and buy you something hot to eat."
When Monk Jingchen saw that it was dried meat, he didn't say anything. He took it and started to chew on it.
It was night.
Zhang Meng, who was sleeping soundly, was woken up by the cold.
Zhang Meng opened his eyes, looked around, and immediately sat up.
"Shh, girl, don't make any noise." At this moment, the monk Jingchen who was sitting next to her suddenly said something.
Zhang Meng immediately looked over at him and asked quietly, "Master Jingchen, what on earth is going on?"
Monk Jingchen looked around with a sullen face and whispered, "We've run into a freezing ghost!"
"Frozen to death?"
Monk Jingchen came closer and said in a low voice, "Yes, frozen to death, that's what he meant."
Zhang Meng quickly looked around and found that everything in the carriage was covered with a thin layer of ice.
Even those who were sleeping were shivering from the cold without realizing it. Seeing this, Zhang Meng cried out in his heart that something was wrong and quickly ran to Grandma Zhang and the others to check.
"Don't worry, I have cast a spell on them, they will be fine." The voice of Monk Jingchen floated over.
Zhang Meng finally breathed a sigh of relief and went in to thank him.
"Don't thank me yet. The frozen corpse is coming. Let's pretend to be asleep and wait for it to pass." Monk Jingchen suddenly said.
Seeing him pretending to sleep, Zhang Meng couldn't help but be curious. She grabbed his arm and asked, "Master Jingchen, I have another question. Since we knew there was a frozen ghost here, why didn't we take it in? Why don't we pretend to sleep?"
Monk Jingchen suddenly opened his eyes and sighed heavily, "This frozen ghost is also a pitiful ghost. Since it didn't hurt anyone, there is no need for us to take it in. Let's just let it live."
Zhang Meng was about to speak when she heard Monk Jingchen shout anxiously, "Stop talking, pretend to sleep quickly, it's coming."
As soon as he finished speaking, he closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep.
Zhang Meng looked around and felt that the temperature seemed to be even lower.
"Hurry up and pretend to sleep, don't cause trouble." At this moment, the voice of Monk Jingchen came again.
Zhang Meng had no choice but to close her eyes and pretend to be asleep like him.
Not long after, Zhang Meng immediately felt the cold air around him, and he felt as if he was about to be frozen into an ice man.
But soon, that feeling disappeared.
She secretly opened one eye and looked, only to see a pale figure floating across the carriage. The frozen head was turning around with difficulty, as if looking for something.
When everyone woke up the next day, they found that although they were covered with quilts, their bodies seemed to be frozen.
When Grandma Zhang heard the strange expressions of others, she said to Zhang Meng with relief that it was fortunate that their family did not have this situation.
Zhang Meng smiled as she listened, but did not tell her grandmother the truth.
The next day, Zhang Meng kept thinking about the frozen ghost she saw last night. Although she only saw its back in the end, she was sure that the frozen ghost was a male ghost.
While Grandma Zhang took Xiao Tao and the others to the toilet, Zhang Meng walked up to Monk Jingchen.
Monk Jingchen, who was meditating with his eyes closed, did not open his eyes. "What's wrong? Are you still thinking about that frozen ghost from last night?"
Zhang Meng was stunned for a moment, then smiled a little embarrassedly, "Yes, Master Jingchen, do you know something? Can you tell me about it?"
