When Zhang Meng heard this, she was very curious. She had been catching ghosts for so long, but this was the first time she encountered such a situation.
Without thinking too much, she quickly agreed to go over to Zhong Dayong. Zhang Meng went into the house to get the tools to exorcise the ghost, and then called Zhong Dayong to leave Gu's house.
Under the guidance of Zhong Dayong, Zhang Meng rode a bicycle and followed his tricycle to a small village.
Soon, the two stopped at the door of a small farmyard.
Zhong Dayong wiped the sweat from his forehead and smiled at Zhang Meng in a simple and honest manner, "Comrade Zhang, this is my mother-in-law's house."
Zhang Meng glanced at the sky above the farmyard. There was a dark air floating there, while the roofs of other houses were very clean.
Just as Zhang Meng was looking at the roofs of these houses, Zhong Dayong ran in and called the family out.
The first person to come out was an old woman with a slightly hunched back. Although she had a hunched back, her walking speed was no less than that of a young person.
"Great Immortal, please come in, please come in." As the old woman came forward, she shook Zhang Meng's hand vigorously and invited Zhang Meng into the small farmyard with great respect and piety.
After entering, Zhang Meng saw Zhong Dayong's daughter-in-law sitting inside holding their son.
Seeing Zhang Meng come in, he immediately stood up and greeted Zhang Meng, "Comrade Zhang, I'm sorry to bother you again. We really have no other choice. The control outside is so strict now. Those witches dare not continue to do this kind of thing."
Zhang Meng waved at her, "I know where the child is. Let me take a look first."
Zhong Dayong's wife smiled, then immediately said to the old woman, "Mom, please take Comrade Zhang to check in my sister-in-law's room."
The old woman nodded immediately, "Mom knows." After answering, she immediately looked at Zhang Meng, "Master Zhang, my grandson is in that room. I'll take you there."
Zhang Meng nodded at her and said politely, "Thank you, Auntie."
Zhong Dayong's wife's maiden name was Xu. When Aunt Xu heard Zhang Meng thank her, she turned pale and waved her hands repeatedly, "Zhang Daxian, you don't have to thank me. We should be the ones thanking you."
Zhang Meng smiled and said nothing more. Then she followed Aunt Xu into one of the rooms.
Compared with other rooms, Zhang Meng obviously found that this room was much darker. He looked around and found that the windows of this room had been sealed with something. No wonder it was so dark.
Seeing Zhang Meng looking at the room, Aunt Xu smiled sheepishly and explained, "Master Zhang, this is what my grandson told us to do. Ever since he was bitten by the cat at home, he's been afraid of light and has been clamoring for us to seal the windows of this room with curtains. If we don't, he'll yell and scream. We sealed them because we were scared."
Zhang Meng looked for a while, nodded, and pointed inside, "Your grandson is in there, right?"
Aunt Xu's eyes reddened as she nodded, "Yes, he's inside. He loves to go out at night to eat mice. We were afraid he might find something, so we cruelly tied him up with ropes. But it didn't work. He escaped several times and came back with a mouth full of blood. It was terrifying."
Zhang Meng patted her shoulder and said comfortingly, "Auntie, don't worry. I'll go in and take a look first."
Aunt Xu immediately wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes and nodded, "Okay, okay, I'll leave it to you, Master Zhang."
When Zhang Meng walked in, a fishy smell was floating in the room.
Frowning, she continued walking inside. When she reached the innermost bed, she saw a little boy, about seven or eight years old, tied to the bedpost with a rope by someone in the house. A white cloth was stuffed in his mouth, and he was whimpering. Next to the boy was a woman.
When the woman saw Zhang Meng coming in, she was stunned at first, but soon her eyes lit up as if she had thought of something. She quickly got off the bed and walked over to Zhang Meng with tears in her eyes. "Excuse me, are you Master Zhang?"
Zhang Meng nodded at her and said, "Just call me Zhang Meng. Is the little boy tied to the bed your son?"
Tears welled up in the corners of the woman's eyes. She bit her lip and nodded vigorously. "Yes, he is my son, my eldest son. Master, please help me save my son. They all said that my son had contracted a cat disease and asked me to kill him. But he is a piece of flesh that fell from my body. How could I bear it? Master, you must save him. He is only seven years old, so young!"
Zhang Meng patted her shoulder and said comfortingly, "Don't cry for now, I'll go over and take a look at the situation."
As soon as she finished speaking, Zhang Meng walked towards the bed inside.
The little boy tied to the bed immediately bared his teeth at her.
As soon as she approached the little boy, Zhang Meng felt a strong aura coming from his body.
Because the light was too dim, Zhang Meng took out a flashlight from her backpack and shone it on the bed, which scared the little boy on the bed.
If Zhang Meng hadn't known that there was a human tied to the bed, when she saw the little boy for the first time, she would have thought she saw an animal. His whole body was covered with hair, especially his face, which was almost completely covered with hair, leaving only his facial features exposed.
At this moment, he saw the light coming from Zhang Meng and shouted a few times.
What surprised Zhang Meng again was that the sound made by the little boy was really a cat's meow. Coupled with his appearance, Zhang Meng suddenly remembered a case he had read in the book. A long time ago, there was a person who looked like this.
