Chapter 315 The Woman with Problems

You Hui was the first to run up and help her up from the ground, anxiously shouting at her, "Auntie, are you okay? Where are you hurt?"

The middle-aged woman slowly opened her eyes and looked around. "What's wrong with me?"

You Hui said a little embarrassedly, "Auntie, you were hit by my car just now. How do you feel now? Do you want us to take you to the hospital?"

In this day and age, no one would think of the words "pengci" (bumping into a porcelain) or "pengci".

The middle-aged woman immediately shook her head. "No, I'm fine. I just hurt my foot a little bit and can't walk back. If you really want to help me, please help me back home."

Youhui was a little embarrassed for a moment because they were in a hurry.

Seeing this, the middle-aged woman suddenly cried out in pain, "Ouch, it hurts, my foot hurts so much."

Her call wiped out any hesitation Youhui had and he immediately agreed. "Okay, we'll take you back. Tell me where your home is."

The middle-aged woman stopped shouting immediately. With a happy smile on her face, she pointed ahead and said, "My home is just ahead, not far away. My family is poor and we live in a shabby place where no one lives. When you get here, please don't look down on us because we're poor."

Zhang Meng spoke up at this time, "Auntie, this is a main road. Why are you running here alone? Also, didn't you see our car driving on the road just now? You just rushed straight towards us like this. Someone who didn't know would think you were trying to kill yourself."

The middle-aged woman's face changed when she heard Zhang Meng's words. She quickly wiped her face with her hands and cried, "I was so hungry that I fainted and didn't see your car for a while. My family is so poor that we can't even afford a meal."

After saying that, the middle-aged woman wiped her eyes with her hands again.

Zhang Meng stared at her movements, and suddenly his eyes fixed on the part of her clothing that was exposed on her arm. The corners of his mouth curled up slightly, and he said to himself, "Interesting."

Youhui, who was eager to apologize, quickly helped the middle-aged woman who was complaining of leg pain into the car.

Zhang Meng and the others soon followed. Following the middle-aged woman's instructions, the car drove onto a remote road. After nearly ten minutes of driving along this overgrown road, they finally saw a dilapidated thatched house in front of them.

"The house in front is my home! Now I am the only woman and my old man in this family. My husband and several children starved to death during the famine. My life is so miserable."

Seeing this, Xiao Ling sat down in front of her with tears in her eyes and comforted her, "Auntie, don't be sad. Life is getting better now. Live well."

The middle-aged woman pursed her lips and nodded with red eyes.

Soon, the car stopped outside the thatched hut.

The middle-aged woman got out of the car first and greeted Zhang Meng and the others enthusiastically.

Everyone followed her inside and finally saw what the house with the words "bare walls" meant.

The house they entered didn't even have a place to sit, and the thatch on top of the house hadn't been repaired for who knows how long, and a lot of it had fallen off. Now, whenever a gust of wind blew, they could feel the wind blowing through their hair while standing inside.

"I'm sorry, my family is so poor that I can only find these few stones. Please sit down for a while. I'll get you something to drink."

The middle-aged woman found a few stones and used them as stools for Zhang Meng and the others.

At this moment, a gray-haired old man came in, limping in with a cane, "Daughter-in-law, who are these people?"

The middle-aged woman immediately walked over to him, supported him, and explained, "Dad, these people are the ones who saved my life on the road just now. I invited them to come to our house and sit for a while."

The old man nodded and immediately looked towards Zhang Meng and the others, his face full of gratitude. "Thank you all for saving my poor daughter-in-law. If my daughter-in-law were gone, I would have lost my life too."

Having said this, the old man lowered his head and wiped away his tears.

The middle-aged woman patted the old man on the back and said, "Dad, don't talk about this anymore. Please sit here and accompany the guests. I'll go get them something to drink."

The old man immediately wiped his eyes and waved his hand, saying, "Then go quickly and don't keep the guests waiting for too long."

The middle-aged woman responded and walked out immediately.

When Youhui saw the old man come in, he immediately gave up the stone he was sitting on and helped him sit on it.

"Everyone, my family is poor. We had some capital in the early years, but then there was a famine and we sold all that money for food. Unfortunately, my only son, a grandson and two granddaughters could not be saved." As he spoke, the old man wiped away his tears again.

The eyes of the three senior brothers and sisters Youhui also became red after listening to this.

Zhang Meng glanced at Gu Mingtai beside her and found that not only did she have no reaction to what the old man said, the man next to her also listened with an indifferent expression, as if what he said was just a story.

Just then, the middle-aged woman who had gone out to get water came in, brought out five cups made of bamboo, and poured a cup of water for each of the five of them.

"Everyone, my family is so poor that I can't afford to serve you tea. I can only let you drink this cold boiled water." The middle-aged woman said embarrassedly.

Xiao Ling immediately said, "We like to drink it even if it's cold boiled water." After that, she picked up the bamboo tube in front of her and prepared to drink.

Just as her lips were about to touch the bamboo tube, Zhang Meng suddenly shouted, "Wait a minute."
