Chapter 372 The Sound in the Grass

Seeing that the four of them were still in the mood to discuss this, Zhang Meng sneered, "You ignorant fools! Today I'll make you regret ever coming out of the underworld."

As soon as he finished speaking, Zhang Meng raised the sword in his hand, then took out three evil-repelling talismans from his backpack and stuck them on the sword, chanting an incantation loudly, "Heaven and Earth Mysterious Sect, Heaven will command the Heaven, Earth will illuminate the Earth, hurry and obey the command!"

After reciting the talisman, Zhang Meng shouted at the three pieces of talisman paper on the sword, "Edict."

A dazzling golden light flashed across her house-guarding sword.

"What is this thing? It's so murderous." One of the evil ghosts was frightened and turned around and ran away.

"Still want to escape!" As soon as the words fell, Zhang Meng immediately jumped up, stretched out two fingers to pick up a piece of talisman paper on the sword, and chanted loudly, "Edict."

The talisman flew towards the fleeing evil spirit, and a golden light hit the evil spirit.

The evil ghost let out a miserable scream, and a black gas floated out of the warrior's mouth and disappeared without a trace in an instant.

Seeing this, the other three fleeing evil spirits were so frightened that they immediately turned into a black gas and floated out of the possessed soldier's mouth.

Seeing this, Zhang Meng smiled coldly, picked up two pieces of talisman paper and flew towards the two black auras. Two more miserable screams crossed the sky.

Looking at the last black air that was about to drift away, Zhang Meng curled her lips, threw it hard, and the sword in her hand that protected the house flew out of her hand.

The sword pierced the black air, and after a shrill scream, the sword flew back into Zhang Meng's hand.

"Hey, what's wrong with me?"

"Why am I lying here?"

"My head hurts?"

"What happened? Where are the boss and the others?"

The four warriors who were possessed by the evil spirits slowly woke up, held their foreheads, and looked at the surrounding environment in confusion.

Zhang Meng put away his sword and walked towards the four of them, "Are you all okay?"

The four of them turned around at the same time and shouted in surprise, "Sister-in-law!"

"You were possessed by an evil spirit just now, but it's okay now!" Zhang Meng briefly explained their situation to them.

When the four heard that they had been possessed by evil spirits, their faces turned ugly. Zhang Meng was in no mood to comfort their fragile hearts. She continued, "If you are okay now, can you come with me to find the boss and the others?"

The four of them immediately looked up and replied in unison, "Sure, we're fine."

Zhang Meng pursed her lips and smiled, "Okay, let's go there now."

"Hey, so you are here. It took me so long to find you." Just then, Di Zhi's voice floated over from the left.

Zhang Meng looked at him walking slowly towards her from the left and asked angrily, "Where did you go just now? Such a big thing happened here, and you're nowhere to be found! You didn't do it on purpose!"

Di Zhi laughed loudly, "Comrade Zhang, I believe in your ability. You will definitely be able to deal with those minions."

Zhang Meng rolled her eyes at him, then turned to the four soldiers behind her and said, "Let's go find someone quickly."

After saying that, he left the place first. The four soldiers looked at each other, and when they saw their sister-in-law had walked away, the four of them quickly chased after her in the direction she left.

Zhang Meng kept walking forward and didn't see Gu Mingtai and the others along the way.

After walking for an unknown amount of time, they suddenly saw a village.

Looking at this silent village without a trace of smoke, Zhang Meng felt uneasy.

"Sister-in-law, come here." At this moment, a soldier standing at the entrance of the village shouted loudly towards Zhang Meng.

Zhang Meng came to her senses and immediately ran towards him.

The soldier who had just called for help picked up a piece of cloth and said, "Sister-in-law, look, this piece of cloth is the same as the one we are wearing, and it's covered in blood!"

Zhang Meng immediately squatted down, took the cloth from his hand, put it to his nose and smelled it. It smelled of blood, and this piece of cloth was exactly a small piece torn from the military uniforms worn by the four men.

"Sister-in-law, do you think the boss and the others will be in any danger?"

Zhang Meng's face was gloomy, and worry was rising in his eyes. He shook his head gently, "Your boss and the others are quite capable. They will be fine."

Having said that, Zhang Meng was still a little worried.

Just as she was looking at the deserted village in front of her, the bloody cloth in her hand was suddenly pulled away by someone.

Zhang Meng looked over immediately and saw that it was Di Zhi. She was already a little annoyed and immediately became even more angry. Her voice was like a blast, and she scolded angrily, "Di Zhi, what are you doing? If you don't want to help, then stay away and don't bother me."

Di Zhi glanced at her, and this time he didn't smile playfully anymore. Instead, he took the bloody cloth in his hand and sniffed it a few times with a serious face. He looked at them with a heavy expression and said, "This bloody cloth has the smell of ghosts and animals."

After he finished speaking, he sniffed it again and quickly said with certainty, "It smells like dog!"

Zhang Meng frowned, but when she saw him analyzing the bloody cloth, her tone softened a bit, and she asked, "Did you smell it right? I believed this cloth had ghostly aura, but how could it also smell like dog?"

Di Zhi threw the bloody cloth into her hands and resumed his usual cheerful demeanor. "If you don't believe me, there's nothing I can do. I've said everything I want to say. You can figure it out on your own. Anyway, this village is not safe. Be careful. Also, don't trust anything in this village, not even animals."

After saying that, Di Zhi turned back into his invisible form and stood aside without saying anything.

Zhang Meng glanced at him, then immediately turned to the four soldiers and said, "Let's go in."

Although the four soldiers were a little scared, when they thought about their comrades who were suffering in there, they gritted their teeth and followed Zhang Meng into this gloomy and terrifying village.

As soon as we entered the village, we felt that it was really like a ghost village. Not even the sound of insects could be heard. It was so quiet that it was scary.

"Sister-in-law, did you hear any noise just now?" After walking past a few houses, one of the soldiers walking behind Zhang Meng called out to her with pale lips.

Zhang Meng stopped and turned to look at him. "I didn't hear anything. What did you hear?"

The pale-lipped soldier licked his lower lip and stammered, "It's the sound of heavy breathing, wheezing, all around us."

After saying that, the young soldier turned around and fixed his eyes on the bushes on his left. At the place where he had just heard the sound, he saw a group of red things staring at them.

"Sister-in-law, there's something!" The young soldier stepped back while reminding Zhang Meng.

Zhang Meng quickly took out the sword that protected the house and looked at the place he pointed. He also saw a lot of red things, and there was a wheezing sound coming from time to time.
