That whole night, Zhang Meng felt like she was on a boat, tossing and turning.
When I woke up the next day, I felt like I hadn't gotten enough sleep.
Grandma Zhang, who was already making breakfast, saw her like this and asked with concern, "How late are you back? Why are you so sleepy? Why don't you go back to sleep for a while? I'll be here for you."
Zhang Meng rubbed both sides of her forehead and yawned, "No, I slept for a long time. I'll help you make breakfast, grandma."
As the two of them were making breakfast, Grandma Zhang suddenly thought of something. "Take Xiaojiang to see a doctor when you have time. He's been screaming in the middle of the night for the past couple of days. It's pretty scary. I wonder if he's feeling unwell somewhere."
When Zhang Meng heard what Grandma Zhang said, she immediately put down what she was doing and said, "I'll go in and see him."
After saying that, Zhang Meng wiped her hands on her body, then left the kitchen and went into the room where Grandma Zhang and the others slept.
The three little ones still sleep in the same room with Grandma Zhang. This is mainly because they are very young and love to kick off the quilt. Grandma Zhang is worried and always sleeps with them.
Zhang Meng walked to where Xiao Zhuang was sleeping. Just as she sat on the edge of the bed, Xiao Zhuang suddenly opened his eyes.
Zhang Meng saw the little guy open his eyes, smiled at him, and touched his forehead. "What's wrong? Grandma said you've been screaming in the middle of the night for the past two days. Tell Mom, are you feeling unwell?"
The little zombie pouted and immediately sat up from the bed, burying his head in her arms. He called out with grievance, "Mom."
Zhang Meng immediately hugged him and gently responded to him, "Yeah, Mommy is here, what's wrong?"
The little zombie held her waist tightly with both hands. After a long while, he slowly said, "Mom, I'm scared. These past two nights, when I went to sleep, many jumping zombies appeared in my mind. They were sucking human blood. It was so scary. They seemed to be able to smell me. They kept calling my name and asking me to go with them. I don't belong here."
After hearing what he said, Zhang Meng immediately pulled him out of her arms and said, "Xiao Zhuang, can you tell me in detail what happened in your dream?"
The little zombie nodded, sobbing. "There were so many of them. I dreamed that they came to my side, looking for someone to drink their blood. It was so scary. It was like they knew I dreamed of them. They kept telling me that I didn't belong there and told me to go with them quickly. They would protect me."
Zhang Meng's expression immediately turned heavy. Quickly, Zhang Meng picked up the little guy and walked out of the room.
Grandma Zhang heard the noise and came out, just in time to see Zhang Meng holding Xiao Zhuang and looking like she was about to go out in a hurry.
Grandma Zhang was so frightened that she thought Xiao Jiang was unwell. She quickly dropped her work and ran over. "What's wrong with Xiao Jiang? Is the child feeling unwell again?"
Zhang Meng, who was dressing Xiao Zhuang, saw that Grandma Zhang's face had turned pale with fear from her actions, so she quickly explained to her, "Grandma, Xiao Zhuang is fine, don't worry. I'll take him to Gu Mingtai's place. Breakfast will be ready soon, so you can eat first. You don't have to wait for us."
When Grandma Zhang heard that it wasn't Xiao Jiang who was ill, she breathed a sigh of relief and quickly took Xiao Jiang's other clothes to help him put them on.
"Then you two should eat something outside and don't go hungry."
Zhang Meng nodded, "I understand, grandma."
After Xiao Zhuang put on his clothes, Zhang Meng picked him up again, said something to Grandma Zhang, and strode out of the Gu family courtyard.
Gu Mingtai, who was training the members of the Ghost Hunting Team, inadvertently saw Zhang Meng walking towards them from a distance.
"Practice on your own. I'll check it later."
After saying this, Gu Mingtai immediately left these people behind and quickened his pace to meet Zhang Meng.
"Why are you here at this hour?" When he saw the little zombie in her arms, he frowned slightly, "Why is the little zombie here too? Is he sick?"
Zhang Meng glanced down at the listless little zombie in her arms, then looked up worriedly at Gu Mingtai, "Gu Mingtai, let's find a place to talk."
Seeing that she looked very anxious, Gu Mingtai nodded and said, "Let's go to my office and talk."
Soon, the couple brought Xiao Zhuang to the office.
As soon as she came in, Zhang Meng immediately told him everything Xiao Jiang had said to her at home.
After hearing this, Gu Mingtai's frown immediately turned towards the little zombie in Zhang Meng's arms.
Xiao Zhuang, who had always been afraid of him, was so scared when he saw his fierce eyes that he immediately buried his head in Zhang Meng's arms.
Zhang Meng glared at the culprit, Gu Mingtai. The innocent Gu Mingtai touched his nose. He had done nothing just now!
Zhang Meng gently coaxed the little zombie who had buried his head, "Little zombie, don't be afraid, move your head out quickly, don't hold it in anymore."
The little zombie whispered, "I'm scared."
Zhang Meng immediately complained to the culprit beside her, "Come on, why are you looking so serious? Look how scared the little zombie is."
The innocent Gu Mingtai felt like he was shot again. He has been like this since he was old enough to understand.
After taking several deep breaths, Gu Mingtai tried his best to force a smile on his face and shouted to Xiao Zhuang, "Xiao Zhuang, come out. Actually, I'm not a fierce person. Look at me!" As Xiao Zhuang quickly exposed his eyes, a cunning light flashed across his eyes.
"It doesn't look scary at all!" After saying that, he completely revealed his little face from Zhang Meng's arms.
