Chapter 5: Handsome Man

The next day, Zhang Meng asked the village chief for half a day off. After breakfast, Zhang Meng, led by Zhang Yu, arrived at the door of her ex-lover's house.

"So your old lover is Wang Jianshe." "Isn't that him? Well, let's not talk about him anymore. You should go in and help his wife. I'll be watching by your side. If you encounter any problems that cannot be solved, I will help you."

After saying this, Zhang Yu quickly hid under the umbrella again.

Zhang Meng stood alone at the door for a long time before she mustered up the courage to knock on the gate.

"Who is it?" The question came from a man who sounded very tired.

After a while, the courtyard gate opened, and Zhang Meng finally saw the owner of the voice. It was a man who looked about thirty years old, but his face gave people the feeling of a man who was more than thirty years old.

"Who are you?" Wang Jianshe looked at the girl in front of him with unfamiliarity.

If he remembered correctly, he didn't know this girl at all.

"You are Wang Jianshe, right? I was asked to come and see your wife. Is she inside?"

Zhang Meng didn't care how others looked at her and told him directly the purpose of her coming here.

When Wang Jianshe heard this, he turned pale with fright. He immediately grabbed her arm and pulled her in, then quickly closed the gate.

Turning around, he looked at Zhang Meng with uncontrollable excitement and asked, "Are you a fortune teller?"

When Zhang Meng heard this title, she subconsciously felt unhappy and shook her head, "No, I'm not a fortune teller."

Wang Jianshe immediately turned into an eggplant hit by frost, "Since you are not a fortune teller, you can't help my wife. You should go back to where you came from."

Zhang Meng snorted and looked at him, "You won't even let me try. How do you know I can't help your wife? I'm asking you, where is she now? Take me there quickly. I don't have that much time to waste here with you."

Wang Jianshe was startled by the aura she unconsciously revealed. For some unknown reason, he didn't know what was going on, but his hands pointed out as if they were out of his control.

Zhang Meng nodded in satisfaction and walked in the direction he pointed without saying a word.

It was not until the man was about to approach the room that Wang Jianshe came to his senses and immediately chased after him.

It was Zhang Meng's first time catching ghosts. As soon as he opened the curtain of the room, he was immediately chilled by the cold air inside.

"Who are you? Who let you in? Get out." Zhang Meng, who had just entered, was immediately forced over by a strong chill, and a cold voice came from the bed.

Zhang Meng originally thought that she would be blown back outside by this powerful cold air, but the cold air was suddenly blocked by a golden light in front of her at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Seeing this, the woman lying on the bed immediately sat up and stared at the girl approaching her with curiosity.

"Who the hell are you? Who told you to meddle in other people's business? Now that I don't want to hurt innocent people, get out of here. Do you hear me?"

Zhang Meng looked at the woman sitting up on the bed. Her hair was disheveled and her face was as pale as a white ash. Her eyes were faintly red.

"My name is Zhang Meng. We can talk slowly if we have anything to say. If you have any requests, you can talk to me and I can help you accomplish it. However, you must let go of the woman you are attached to."

The woman suddenly burst out laughing. "How can I let her go? This woman is a fickle woman. She clearly talked about marriage with me back then, but in the end she married the man from this family. I will never rest in peace. I will drag her into the underworld to accompany me."

As the woman became more and more excited, the voice behind her suddenly became a man's voice.

Zhang Meng sighed and continued to persuade, "Even so, now that you're dead, can't your grudges be wiped out?"

"Impossible. Unless she dies, I will keep pestering her until she dies of exhaustion."

Zhang Meng realized that she couldn't convince the male ghost, so she had to apologize. "I'm sorry, you forced me to do this. I didn't want to use violence."

The woman suddenly burst into laughter. "You, a little girl, think you can deal with me? That's a good idea. Go ahead and try it."

Zhang Meng realized that she had angered the male ghost, so she quickly shouted to Zhang Yu who was hiding under the umbrella, "Zhang Yu, come out and help me! I can't handle him."

Not long after she finished shouting, a weak voice floated out from inside the umbrella, "Little Mengmeng, you'd better deal with this ghost by yourself. I can't do it. The resentment in it is too strong. I can't help you. You'd better take care of yourself." After that, the umbrella returned to peace again.

Zhang Meng looked at the umbrella, which had regained its composure, in disbelief. She angrily swung it a few times and said, "Zhang Yu, you ungrateful ghost girl, I will never believe your lies again."

It was still quiet inside the umbrella.

The woman on the bed sneered, "You don't have any help now, right? I advise you to leave right now. I won't hurt you, and you don't bother me."

Zhang Meng looked at the woman who was being possessed by the male ghost. Because he had been possessed for so long, she could see a black aura spreading from her brow. Although she didn't know what this black aura was, she thought it must be something bad.

"No, I won't leave. Get off this woman quickly, do you hear me?" Zhang Meng gritted her teeth, suppressed the fear in her heart, and stared at the woman on the bed who was becoming uglier and uglier.

"Haha, since you are not afraid of death, then come and pay for my life." As soon as Zhang Meng finished speaking, she suddenly saw the woman who was sitting on the bed just a second ago, whoosh, and instantly stood in front of her.

The woman grinned at Zhang Meng with bared teeth and a terrifying smile, and her hands covered with sharp nails slowly reached towards her neck.

Zhang Meng was so scared that she held her head tightly with both hands and yelled, "Get out, get out!"

With a thud, Zhang Meng, who was holding her head, only heard the sound of a heavy object falling to the ground, followed by a sound of pain, "Hmm..."

"Are you okay?" Zhang Meng, who thought she was dead, suddenly heard a very pleasant voice coming from her ear. It was a man's voice, and it sounded like she was floating.

Zhang Meng opened her eyes immediately, and happened to meet a handsome face staring at her.

"It seems that you are okay. That's good. You stand aside first and I will take care of this ghost." After saying this, the man strode forward, muttering some unknown words, and slowly walked towards the woman who was retreating step by step.

"Don't come over here, I don't want to listen, I don't want to hear this, don't read it, don't read it, please." The woman struggled at the beginning and then begged for mercy.

"Dust to dust, ashes to ashes, my friend, when will the cycle of revenge end? I will help you reincarnate soon." As the man finished speaking, a ray of golden light shot towards the woman. After a while, the woman who was struggling on the ground suddenly lay motionless on the ground.
