Tong Wu was the first one who lost his patience and stepped forward to snatch the ten water-fixing talismans from Zhang Meng's hand.
"Oh my God, it really is a Water-Fixing Talisman, and it's on par with the one Boss Wu just used." Tong Wu smiled foolishly while holding the ten Water-Fixing Talismans.
When the four people nearby heard this, they quickly ran forward and snatched the talisman paper from his hand.
"Hey, how can you do this? I got it first." Tong Wu looked at the only piece of talisman paper left in his hand and complained to them loudly.
The four of them ignored his complaints and focused their attention on the talismans in their hands.
"Comrade Zhang, where did you get these talismans?"
He Liu immediately looked at Zhang Meng and asked. Zhang Meng smiled embarrassedly, "I drew this myself. I drew it a few times and it turned out like this. I don't know if it can be used. Can you guys take a look and see if it works? If it does, we can use it to start the painting."
"You said you drew this?" Xi stared at her in disbelief and confirmed again and again.
Zhang Meng saw them all looking at her as if she were a ghost, and nodded uneasily, "Yeah, is there anything wrong?"
"This is a big problem, Comrade Zhang Meng. I didn't expect you to be an expert at drawing talismans. Why didn't you tell me earlier? Oh, and what else can you draw? Tell me."
"I can draw some other ones too. I'll tell you about them later. Since this water-fixing talisman works, let's use it to go into the water now." Zhang Meng looked back at the turbulent Yellow River behind him, and the uneasiness in his heart became even stronger.
Everyone present was worried about Wu Da, who had been in the water for a while.
So when Zhang Meng made this proposal, no one present objected.
The six people successively put a water-fixing talisman on themselves.
"I'll go ahead, and you guys follow behind me. Be sure to be careful. This time or next time, we don't know what's in the water. In short, everyone must pay attention to their own safety."
After Wu Da left, He Liu was the oldest among the six of them, so he was now giving instructions to his colleagues as an elder.
As the youngest here, Zhang Meng was the last one to leave.
As she had been a landlubber since childhood, she was a little scared at first. But when she really got into the water, she realized that after sticking the water-fixing talisman, the water was no different from being on the surface for her. She could breathe freely and her clothes would not get wet.
If there is one difficulty, it is the blurred vision in the water.
Once they reached the bottom of the river, their blurry vision finally allowed them to see Tong Wu and the other six people who had gone down earlier.
"Be careful!" Wu Da, who had come down earlier, saw Zhang Meng walking towards the stone turtle statue in front, and looked up in dissatisfaction to stop her.
Zhang Meng stopped walking embarrassedly. Could she tell them that she felt close to the stone turtle statue as soon as she saw it?
Looking at the heavy expressions of the six of them, Zhang Meng asked loudly, "What on earth is this?"
Because the sound of water below was louder than above, she could only shout to ask them.
Tong Wu glanced at the five people beside her. Seeing that none of them seemed to have any intention of standing up to explain to her, she had no choice but to stand up and say, "This is a stone statue of the river god. In the past, when the river flooded, people would erect a stone statue like this by the river. But after the founding of the People's Republic of China, these things can no longer be believed."
Only then did Zhang Meng realize that this stone turtle looked like the incarnation of the river god.
"Boss, this stone turtle looks a bit weird!" He Liu walked up to Wu Da and said.
"Yeah, I also think this stone turtle statue is weird. I seem to have read in a book that most stone turtle statues are made of normal stone, but this one is so red, as if it was stained with blood."
Xi frowned in confusion.
"Your analysis is correct. There is indeed something wrong with this stone statue."
"It seems to be in pain." Suddenly, a reassuring voice sounded behind them.
Everyone looked behind them and found that the person who said this was Zhang Meng.
"Zhang Meng, have you discovered something?" Wu Da asked Zhang Meng, who had a frown on his face and looked very painful.
Zhang Meng stared blankly as he pulled his eyes away from the stone turtle statue. He stared at the six of them with a dazed expression. "This stone turtle statue is a river god. Three hundred years ago, it was invited by the people here to guard the river. Since then, it has accepted sacrifices from the people along the riverbank and has also worked hard to protect the people on the shore. It has coexisted peacefully with humans. However, after the founding of the People's Republic of China, the people on the shore began to distrust it and insulted its statue. Later, they even took black dog blood and splashed it on its statue. The river god is now very angry and wants to take revenge on the humans who have hurt it."
The six people were stunned. "Zhang Meng, how do you know all this?" Feng San expressed the curiosity of everyone present.
Zhang Meng, whose eyes were already a little moist, shook her head. "I don't know why I knew this. It's just that just now, when I was looking at it, a lot of images suddenly floated through my mind, and then I knew it."
"God, Zhang Meng, what are your origins? You can even see this, so why can't we?" Tong Wu asked Zhang Meng with glowing eyes.
Zhang Meng smiled sheepishly and shook her head, "I don't know either."
Wu Da stared at her for a while, then suddenly turned to look at his companions and said, "Now that we know the reason, it's easy to deal with. Let's try to communicate with this Lord River God and ask him how we can forgive the people on the shore."
