"Where are Uncle Dahu and Aunt Dahu?"
After entering the yard, Zhang Meng realized that the house was a little too quiet.
"My brother and sister-in-law asked me to trick her into going back to her parents' home three days ago, and she hasn't come back yet."
Zhang Meng turned her head to look at him. Don't be fooled by this guy's delicate appearance, he is a man of many evil intentions.
"Xiao Meng, why are you looking at your uncle Xiaohu like that? You're almost scaring your uncle Xiaohu."
Zhang Meng sneered, "Uncle Xiaohu, you're such a powerful person, how could you be scared by a weak girl like me? Stop joking."
Zhang Xiaohu completely failed to grasp the hidden meaning behind Zhang Meng's words. He thought she was praising him, and proudly puffed out his head and chest, "Xiao Meng, you also think your uncle Xiaohu is amazing, right? Or maybe you have good taste. Unlike your aunt, who always thinks I'm incompetent and only good at eating and doing nothing, I'm telling you, one day, I will definitely make a name for myself."
Zhang Meng glanced at his face coldly, and smiled coldly in her heart. If her face reading was correct, Zhang Xiaohu had lived a decent life in the first half of his life because of her mother's help, but in the second half of his life, he would have no children or grandchildren to help him, and he would be a lonely man.
"Where is Xiaobao? Where did you lock him up?" Zhang Meng looked around the house, turned around and stared at Zhang Xiaohu and asked.
"No, Xiaomeng, didn't you come here to help me treat my mother's illness? Why are you asking about that little nemesis?" Zhang Xiaohu was a little dissatisfied.
Zhang Meng curled her lips slightly and said, "You said that the old man you invited back to perform the ritual was a liar. Do you still believe him now?"
Zhang Xiaohu's face flushed instantly, and he laughed heartily, "Isn't this a matter of believing something rather than nothing?"
Zhang Meng rolled her eyes. "It's better to believe it than not to believe it."
Zhang Xiaohu laughed again, "Yes, yes, that's it."
Zhang Meng's lips curled up slightly, revealing an enigmatic smile. "Uncle Xiaohu, don't say I didn't warn you. If you don't release Xiaobao, you'll regret it."
Zhang Xiaohu smiled again, but it didn't last long. Seeing Zhang Meng staring at him, the smile on his face slowly disappeared. "Xiao Meng, are you serious?"
Zhang Meng curled the corners of her mouth coldly, "It's okay if you don't believe me. If anything bad happens to your family again, I won't be able to help you."
Zhang Xiaohu immediately turned around and ran into a small thatched hut in the house, opened the lock and ran in.
Seeing this, Zhang Meng quickly followed. "Stinky boy, wake up! Don't scare me."
As soon as she came in, Zhang Meng heard Zhang Xiaohu holding Xiaobao, who had fainted, and one of his hands was still hitting Xiaobao's face hard.
Zhang Meng's face darkened and she immediately ran up and snatched the little treasure from his arms.
"It's so hot." As soon as Zhang Meng hugged Xiaobao, she found that his whole body was extremely hot, as if he had just been taken off the fire.
"What are you still doing here? Please ask Uncle Zhang to come over." Zhang Meng yelled at Zhang Xiaohu who was still in a daze.
"Hey, what's going on?"
A woman and two children were standing at the door of the thatched hut. The mouths of the two children, one big and two small, were greasy. It was obvious that they had eaten something delicious and had not wiped the grease off their mouths.
"Little Buster has a fever. I'll go get Uncle Zhang to come over."
Zhang Xiaohu hurriedly explained to his wife and was about to run out when his arm was grabbed by his wife at the door.
"Why are you going? This little nemesis has brought our mother to this state. Wouldn't it be better if he died?" Zhang Xiaohu's wife looked coldly at Xiaobao in Zhang Meng's arms.
Zhang Xiaohu suddenly looked embarrassed and looked towards Zhang Meng.
"Who said he was a little nemesis? If I'm not mistaken, your whole family will have to rely on him if they want to have food and drink and not starve to death. I tell you, if he dies, your whole family will starve to death."
Zhang Meng sneered. Zhang Xiaohu's wife was stunned, but quickly continued stubbornly, "Don't scare me, I don't believe you."
Zhang Xiaohu pulled at the corner of his wife's clothes and whispered in her ear what happened last night.
Last night, when Zhang Xiaohu's wife heard about zombies, she was so scared that she took her two children and ran under the bed to hide. She stayed at home all morning. Naturally, she didn't know that the people in the village now believed in Zhang Meng.
With every word Zhang Xiaohu spoke, Zhang Meng's face looked a little more fearful. Later on, there was a layer of awe in her eyes when she looked at Zhang Meng.
"Xiao Meng, it's my aunt's fault for not being sensible. Don't blame me. Your uncle Xiaohu will go and call Uncle Zhang right away."
After stuttering these words, Zhang Xiaohu's wife immediately kicked Zhang Xiaohu, who was still stunned, and cursed, "What are you still standing here for? Hurry up and ask Uncle Zhang to come and treat the little nemesis."
"I've already told you that he's not your nemesis, he's your family's lucky charm. If you don't believe me, you'll be punished in the future."
Hearing her calling me "little nemesis" all the time, I always felt it was irritating and couldn't help but retort.
Zhang Xiaohu's wife's face turned pale and blue. She glanced at the little treasure in her arms, opened her mouth, and quickly changed her words, "Yes, little lucky star, he is our little lucky star."
Zhang Meng sneered, carried Xiaobao out of the small thatched house, walked around the yard for a few times, and suddenly found that she didn't know which room to take Xiaobao back to.
"Where is Xiaobao's room?" Zhang Meng glanced at Zhang Xiaohu's wife who was standing beside him with an unsuspecting look.
"I'll take you in." After being glanced at by her, Zhang Xiaohu's wife felt cold all over. She did not dare to hesitate for a moment and immediately led Zhang Meng into the smallest room in the adobe house.
The room was less than 20 square meters, with two beds, a wardrobe with slightly peeling paint, and no extra space even for standing.
Zhang Meng carried Xiaobao to lie down on one of the beds.
"Bring me a basin of water."
Zhang Meng took off Xiaobao's wet clothes and gave instructions to Zhang Xiaohu's wife who was standing behind her without turning her head.
Zhang Xiaohu's wife moved her lips, and finally saw Zhang Meng's figure. She didn't dare to say anything. She turned around in fear and went to work as she was told.
When the last piece of clothing was taken off, Xiaobao with a red face finally slowly opened his eyes.
"Sister Xiaomeng, is that you? I'm not seeing things."
Zhang Meng looked at Xiaobao, whose lips were cracked, and felt a pang of heartache. "It's me. You're such a fool! When they called you Little Nemesis, why didn't you run away? You let them lock you up in that shabby little house. Wasn't your life as an infant spirit in vain?"
