Seeing them staring blankly at the talisman paper, Gu Mingtai's face darkened and he yelled at them, "What are you all staring at? Hurry up and thank your sister-in-law. Do you know that this talisman paper is very precious? You may not be able to buy it even if you have money?"
When the ten people heard this, they immediately looked towards Zhang Meng with gratitude and said in unison, "Thank you, sister-in-law."
Zhang Meng smiled at them, glared at Gu Mingtai, and said to them, "No need to thank me. Protect this talisman well. It can be said to be your life-saving talisman. After all, once you enter, everyone may be unable to take care of themselves. With this talisman, your lives will be protected. Just keep it safe."
After explaining these things, they continued to walk inside.
Before the group had gone far, the two soldiers in front suddenly shouted, "Boss, sister-in-law, come over and take a look."
Right in the middle of the road ahead were some tools for the necromancy ritual.
Zhang Meng walked forward and took a look at the tools, her brows immediately furrowed, "Someone performed a ritual to summon spirits here." As soon as she finished speaking, she immediately looked at Gu Mingtai who remained silent.
Gu Mingtai's face was gloomy, and he tightened his grip on her hand. "Keep going. Everyone, be careful. There's a spirit summoning ceremony going on here. None of us knows what kind of ghosts those people have summoned here. Be alert."
'
When the ten people heard this, they immediately became alert, and each of them unconsciously clenched the life-saving talisman in their hands.
When they came to a bend, a cold wind blew out from one of the small caves.
Zhang Meng and Gu Mingtai's expressions changed at the same time, and the couple quickly made a stop gesture to the ten soldiers following behind them.
"What is that thing? Come out quickly!" Zhang Meng clenched the talisman paper in his hand and shouted with a serious face towards the cave from which the gloomy wind was blowing.
"Haha, not bad!" A loud voice accompanied by a huge gloomy wind floated out from the cave.
Zhang Meng and others standing at the entrance of the cave could not open their eyes because of the cold wind.
At this moment, Zhang Meng, who had her eyes closed, suddenly felt the temperature around her drop sharply. She ignored the huge cold wind and forced herself to open her eyes.
When she opened her eyes, Zhang Meng realized that Gu Mingtai had been standing in front of her to shield her from the sudden drop in temperature.
Looking past his body, she vaguely saw an old man with white hair standing in front of her, looking at her with a kind smile, "Girl, you've grown so big!"
Zhang Meng stretched out his head and looked at the old man in front of him, "Who are you?"
Why did she always feel that this old man looked familiar?
The white-haired old man was about to speak when he suddenly found an annoying man standing between him and Zhang Meng. He immediately said to Gu Mingtai in a somewhat unhappy tone, "Boy, can you please move aside and stop blocking me from talking to my little girl, Xiao Meng?"
As soon as he finished speaking, the white-haired old man changed his fierce look towards Gu Mingtai and looked at Zhang Meng with a smile, "Girl, you can still call me Xiao Meng. I remember your father mentioned your name as this when you were just born."
When Zhang Meng heard him mention his father, it was like seeing an acquaintance, and her guard against the old man was greatly reduced.
"Gu Mingtai, please move aside and let me talk to this old man."
Gu Mingtai frowned, "No, this old man suddenly appeared, and he has a strong yin energy. It's obvious that he is not from the world of the living. I have to protect you."
When the white-haired old man heard this, his white beard flew in anger. "You little brat, you actually dared to suspect that I would do something bad to that cute little girl? You little brat, you are just like your master, a nitpicker."
Gu Mingtai raised his eyebrows slightly, "You actually know my master, who are you?"
The white-haired old man raised his head and said with his chest puffed out, "I will never change my name, my name is Zhang Tianfu."
Zhang Meng was stunned and quickly thought of someone with this name. She ended up remembering someone very close to her who had this name.
"Zhang Tianfu! This is my grandfather's name. You can't be my grandfather!" Zhang Meng looked at the white-haired old man in front of him in surprise.
Zhang Tianfu looked at her kindly, "Girl, I am your grandfather. I never thought that we would meet here."
Zhang Meng couldn't believe it and confirmed again and again, "You really are my grandfather, you are not lying to me!"
Zhang Tianfu snorted softly, "There's a small red mole on your butt. Your father told me about it in front of my tablet when you were just born. I was right, wasn't I?"
Zhang Meng's face instantly turned red. Seeing that the soldiers beside him were blushing like boiled shrimps, she quickly stopped Zhang Tianfu who was about to say something more, "I believe you are my grandfather, okay? Stop it."
"Girls, let me ask you, what are you doing here?" Zhang Tianfu frowned suddenly.
"We heard from Grandpa Miao that a group of R people came here and wanted to destroy the dragon vein here. We came in to stop them. But you, Grandpa, you, you are already dead, how come you are here?"
Zhang Meng spoke the following words very quietly, and even later on she was a little afraid to look Zhang Tianfu in the eye.
Zhang Tianfu laughed heartily and said with the look of a good grandfather, "It's okay, it's okay. You can tell me anything. I won't be angry."
Zhang Meng finally breathed a sigh of relief and quickly looked at him with curious eyes, waiting for his answer.
Zhang Tianfu hummed softly, turned around, and immediately changed his gray clothes into a set of ancient official uniforms.
