After seeing the dolphins, Researcher Tian was still chattering away while eating in the cafeteria.
As expected, today's dish is fish, with very few green vegetables, just a little bit of cabbage.
Lin Chuchu got her food and, ignoring Researcher Tian, headed towards her dormitory. Researcher Hou did the exact same thing.
"Hey, where are you guys going? Aren't you going to eat here?"
Unable to bear it any longer, Researcher Hou stepped forward, grabbed him by the back of his collar, and pulled him back.
"If you don't want to improve your meals, then stay and eat in the cafeteria."
Lin Chuchu ignored the two of them, returned to her dormitory, closed the door, and sat down at the small table to eat.
She opened a bag of pickled vegetables and a can of meat, then poured the pickled vegetables into the lunchbox, and only then did she feel that the taste was a little better.
Halfway through the meal, he even took out a bottle of juice from his storage space to drink.
When I get back, I'll try to find some opportunities to smuggle some food and drink into the space.
After eating and drinking to your heart's content, clean the lunchbox thoroughly.
After the lunch break, I still have to continue working.
A few days later, the large ship arrived at a sea area where there was an underwater hillside, perfect for testing torpedoes.
Lin Chuchu stood by the boat, nervously staring at the distant sea, as did the others.
Do you think the experiment will succeed?
Researcher Tian asked nervously.
Lin Chuchu hesitated for only a moment before nodding firmly, "It will definitely succeed."
With so many people working together, we're sure to succeed.
"Ready, launch!"
At the command, two seconds later, a loud bang suddenly appeared on the distant sea, a white wave shot into the sky, and even the ship began to rock.
The entire room fell silent, everyone's eyes fixed on the observer, their hearts pounding in their throats.
"Test firing successful. Range and destructive power are both satisfactory. Now, increase the distance and proceed with the next test firing."
As soon as he finished speaking, everyone erupted in thunderous cheers. Not only the researchers, but even the naval soldiers were incredibly excited.
Lin Chuchu's gaze was fixed on the distant sea, her mood complicated. They had succeeded. China now had its first batch of naval weapons, and they were weapons developed independently.
Researcher Tian patted Researcher Hou's shoulder repeatedly.
With reddened eyes, he exclaimed, "Haha, it worked! It really worked! Little monkey, aren't you excited?"
Researcher Hou freed his shoulder from the man's grasp, rubbed it gently, and rolled his eyes at him.
"I've always believed it would succeed; it seems like you're the one who doesn't believe it."
You hit him too hard, you got so excited you hit yourself, why hit him?
Researcher Hou narrowed his eyes and scanned Researcher Tian from head to toe, gritting his teeth as he thought about how to make up for the loss he had suffered.
Everyone was excited, but they still wanted to test fire at a greater distance.
Lin Chuchu quickly recorded the data, not forgetting her work.
The large ship traveled a distance, first noting down the distance parameters, and then with a launch sound, another wave surged out in the distance.
The old researcher, who had been keeping a serious face, finally broke into a smile.
He clapped his hands. "Alright, our mission is complete. Now we just need to wait for the big ship to return."
"Go do what you're supposed to do, don't stand here and obstruct the soldiers' work."
"Great, it's finally over. I'll go ask if they have any fishing rods; I want to go fishing."
Ever since his seasickness subsided, Researcher Tian had been wanting to go fishing. He had to work before, so he couldn't let it interfere with his job, but now he could finally go fishing.
Lin Chuchu paused as she walked back. Should she go and take a look too? Getting some sun would be nice.
Men really can't resist fishing; six out of ten researchers went looking for fishing rods.
Soon, a row of stools and small buckets were placed on the deck.
Lin Chuchu didn't wander around. She grabbed a deck chair, pulled her hat over her head, and started sunbathing.
I fell asleep without realizing it, when suddenly I heard a loudspeaker blaring in my ear.
"Non-combat personnel, please enter the cabin immediately and do not stay on the deck."
The voice was all too familiar; Lin Chuchu had encountered similar situations several times at their base.
Lin Chuchu sat up abruptly, and the guard, seeing that she was awake, immediately helped her pack her things.
They were fast, and the others were not slow either.
In less than ten minutes, Lin Chuchu returned to her room. The footsteps outside made her nervous.
She didn't know what had happened, but since it was a battle alarm, there must be danger.
Lin Chuchu went to the window. Outside, there was still an endless sea, but Lin Chuchu could feel that the ship was moving much faster than before.
Lin Chuchu couldn't tell if they were driving towards the beach, and she couldn't tell which way they were going.
After a while, she saw several boats. One of them belonged to fishermen who were out at sea to fish. Although the other boats did not have any markings, they did not look like Chinese boats.
No wonder they sounded the battle alarm; it turns out that foreign ships had entered Chinese waters.
The ship stopped, and someone on board was shouting, but the foreign ships did not leave; it seemed like they had fired shots.
Lin Chuchu sighed, "Sure enough, nowhere is peaceful."
While Lin Chuchu was worried, the atmosphere in the navy's command room was also tense.
"How's it going? Have they replied yet?"
The naval commander said with a solemn expression that they could not fire indiscriminately. They had warned them several times, but the other side refused to leave and even fired at them.
I'm fine here, since it's quite far away.
But the dangerous one is the fishing boat.
They cannot allow anything to happen to their people.
"Sorry, sir, there's still no word from above."
