The next morning, after having breakfast, Lin Chuchu went to the research lab.
Lin Chuchu's first sight was of the office where the incident had occurred.
The office door was open, and there were still dark marks inside.
Lin Chuchu sighed. Luckily, no one was hurt, otherwise Tang Xin's sins would have been much greater.
Back in the four-person office, the room, though large, was now piled high with things.
He greeted Lin Chuchu as she approached.
Researcher Hou pointed to one of the items and said, "This is what several of my senior colleagues were researching, but unfortunately it was all destroyed."
The researchers treated their findings like their own children.
The fruits of their hard work were suddenly destroyed, and everyone was in a bad mood.
Lin Chuchu nodded, picked up the data beside her and started looking at it. This data was not the latest; the latest data had all been destroyed.
Lin Chuchu said in a deep voice, "It's okay, these are enough. We can do the rest of the experiments again."
"Okay, sure."
After several busy days, I finally finished the experiment, organized and backed up the data, and submitted it. This can be considered as giving an explanation to the injured researchers.
That day, Lin Chuchu and the others were engrossed in installing parts when there was a knock on the office door.
Soon, the leader walked in, but didn't look at anything indiscriminately.
"Comrade Lin, someone from the military has come and needs your help."
Lin Chuchu was taken aback. The military? What could they possibly need her help with?
"Okay, sir, please wait a moment, I'll wash my hands and come out right away."
My hands are all dirty; I can't go out like this.
As Lin Chuchu stepped out of the room, she saw two people standing next to the leader.
One of them, who was wearing glasses, said, "Hello, Comrade Lin. My surname is Chu, and I am a political commissar. You can call me Political Commissar Chu."
Seeing how respectful his tone was, Lin Chuchu quickly shook hands with him.
"Hello, Political Commissar Chu. May I ask what brings you here? I'll do my best to help if I can."
Commissar Chu's smile deepened. "We've developed an engine that we want to put in a car, but there are still some aspects that we're not entirely satisfied with."
"When we reported to our superiors, they recommended you. We heard that you have studied many household appliances and improved tractors, so we would like to ask you to take a look. Thank you for your help."
The other party looked very sincere and used polite, official language, which made Lin Chuchu feel a little embarrassed.
"Political Commissar Chu, you're too kind. We'll definitely help our brother unit. However, we need to report any projects we research. Would you like me to introduce you to our section chief first?"
After he finished speaking, Political Commissar Chu's smile deepened.
“We have just spoken with the section chief. His idea is that your research group will take over, and you will be the leader of the engine research group.”
This person is quite fast. "Alright, then I'll trouble Political Commissar Chu to have someone deliver the items over."
The two exchanged a few more polite words, and then Political Commissar Chu had someone deliver a generator.
However, their office was already overflowing. Apart from a few desks and two large cabinets filled with various documents, the rest of the office was cluttered with other things.
Upon seeing this scene, the leader waved his hand and immediately assigned a large office to him.
The soldiers even helped with the move.
The desks were kept together to facilitate communication among the four people, and the remaining items were all categorized and placed in different locations.
Modern engines are inefficient, making cars slow, and they can't compare to those from foreign countries at all.
Because this thing was sent by the military and was in a hurry, the four people took the lead in studying the engine.
Lin Chuchu said with a serious expression, "I think that in addition to working on the internal components, we can also consider the material issue."
"Engines get hot after long-term use and have a short lifespan. If we can solve the material problem, we might be able to solve the speed problem better."
The others nodded in agreement with Lin Chuchu's idea.
The other three were discussing in hushed tones, while Lin Chuchu began browsing through the pictures in her online space.
She remembered seeing a brief introduction, only a few sentences long, that mentioned the materials used in cars.
After searching for a long time, Lin Chuchu finally found it: there was a material that was heat-insulating and lightweight, and was used in car interior parts, etc.
There's only this one sentence, without specifying what it is, but if it's used in the context of cars, it might be applied to the engine.
The following section introduces the material, including its color, texture, shape, temperature, and so on.
The process wasn't described in detail, since it's just a geology book.
Lin Chuchu picked up a pen and paper and wrote down the entire passage.
"Could you take a look at this for me first? Have you ever handled anything like this before when you're dealing with materials?"
The three of them took the paper and carefully read its contents.
Researcher Tian and Researcher Hou both shook their heads, indicating that they had never seen it before.
Zhou Lichen remained silent for a moment before speaking, "Where did you see this? It doesn't sound like something that would come out in China."
This person is quite perceptive. "I read it in a book, which was supposedly translated from a book brought back from abroad."
"No wonder. I remember that more than a year ago, our country brought back a lot of English books and translations from abroad. It is said that they were brought back by someone with a photographic memory."
Zhou Lichen muttered to himself.
Lin Chuchu coughed lightly. This involved confidentiality regulations, and Lin Chuchu didn't want to admit that she was the one who did it.
Just then, Researcher Tian suddenly realized, "You mean that batch of books? The country printed a lot, and every experimental base and major university got a set."
