Lin Chuchu flipped through the book and pointed to the text on it for the three of them to see.
"I think it's on this."
The three looked at Lin Chuchu with strange expressions. Researcher Tian said, "I've noticed that your memory is quite good. You wrote down all the important parts without a single mistake."
Oh no, I was careless. Lin Chuchu sighed, rubbing her forehead. These guys are all geniuses, they're especially good at grasping the key points.
Fortunately, she reacted quickly and didn't copy it exactly, otherwise it would have been even more difficult to explain.
Researcher Hou also spoke up.
"It's still about geology books. Comrade Lin has quite a wide range of interests."
"Forget it, it's impossible to explain now," Lin Chuchu said, getting straight to the point. "I don't know if we have the materials described here. Let's look for them quickly."
Once you've found it, you can start experimenting.
When the section chief learned what materials the three of them were looking for, he had no choice but to have someone take them to the warehouse.
"Don't touch anything there. Those things are all valuable; even if you sold all of you, you wouldn't be able to afford to pay for them."
The section chief repeatedly warned them, as he was genuinely worried about the group, especially Researcher Tian.
Researcher Tian patted his chest with a grin and assured him, "Don't worry, Section Chief, we know what's important."
If we find something good, it might come in handy for some research project.
They're submitting a report; can the higher-ups possibly stop them?
Of course, they won't waste the materials.
Every material in the laboratory is documented, with clear descriptions of its location, topography, and surrounding environment.
The same applies to the inherent properties of the materials themselves.
When Lin Chuchu saw the material priced at 5,000 yuan per gram, she almost thought she was seeing things. She rubbed her eyes and thought, "This little bit of stuff must cost over a million yuan."
No wonder the section chief said that even if they sold them all, they couldn't afford to pay for it; they really couldn't afford it.
There are three warehouses here, which are classified as warm warehouses, cold warehouses, and ambient temperature warehouses according to their properties.
The cold storage has the fewest items, while the ambient temperature storage has the most. The three people split up to find the materials that best meet the requirements.
Lin Chuchu bent down to observe carefully, touching anything she could reach to feel its texture.
After checking the area under my responsibility, I did not find the material described in the book.
When she returned to the doorway, the other three people also came back dejectedly.
"It seems our base doesn't have it. If all else fails, let's try other approaches first."
If the materials were so easy to find, the project would have been completed long ago, and they would definitely have been able to catch up.
Lin Chuchu nodded, "That's right. We don't know yet what areas can be improved, so it's a bit too early to start looking for materials."
That's what they say, but Lin Chuchu still felt a little regretful.
Engines have a wide range of uses; if we could develop a more efficient one, it might be useful for other things.
Even so, the four of them seemed a bit dull during lunch.
His listless appearance aroused the curiosity of the group of senior researchers.
These four kids have the same spirit they had in their youth: when faced with difficulties, they are not afraid of them and work hard to overcome them.
We won't back down until we've figured something out.
The section chief asked curiously, "You couldn't find the materials?"
Everyone nodded, and Researcher Tian replied, "Yes, we couldn't find it, and it's not in the previous records either."
Any materials that enter the base, whether used or given to other bases, will be recorded.
However, there are no records at all. It's unclear whether this is because China doesn't have it, or if it appeared but wasn't noticed.
"But it's okay. We can find the materials that need to be replaced when we reach the later stages of the research."
Researcher Tian consoled himself.
The section chief looked at him with a surprised expression. "Where did you learn about this material? What are its characteristics?"
No one knew more than Lin Chuchu, so she introduced the materials.
"Section Chief, this is described in a foreign book. It may be something unique to that country. We're just giving it a try."
"After all, having more materials means having more entry points."
Upon hearing this, all the senior researchers looked at Lin Chuchu with strange expressions. This girl had a really good memory, and she could make so many connections from just one sentence in the book. Her imagination was quite good.
Everyone else just sighed and didn't pay much attention, except for the old professor who knew the inside story, who ate his meal in silence.
He was shocked. After so long, he didn't expect Lin Chuchu to still remember. Her photographic memory was amazing.
The section chief pondered for a moment, then said, "I'll ask around for you, but don't get your hopes up. We might not be able to find it."
It's great that young people are ambitious, and as the section chief, he should give his full support.
All we know is whether the materials actually exist.
The four nodded frantically and thanked him with joy.
When they saw the engine again, it had been dismantled and was covered in parts. The four-person team's motto was: take things apart and then put them back together, understand the underlying principles, and then make improvements.
"One problem is that the engine gets hot after running for a long time, making it easy to stall. Another problem is that the car can only travel at a very slow speed after installation, so it cannot travel on mountain roads."
Lin Chuchu summarized the situation, and as for the other issues, they were just minor problems in their eyes.
Once the most important issue is resolved, all other problems become easier to solve.
"I think we can try changing the material of this part first and see if it works."
Zhou Lichen held up an accessory.
“I saw something similar to this material in the warehouse last time, let’s try making it.”
The others nodded in agreement.
