Then the last door was opened, and seawater rushed in instantly.
Lin Chuchu was pulled by a rope and floated away. Lin Chuchu looked back curiously. Wouldn't the submarine take on water?
Lin Chuchu's questions remained unanswered as they arrived at the location of the Tianqi shipwreck.
This time it went smoothly. Lin Chuchu touched the hull of the ship, and soon the sunken ship in front of her disappeared.
Suddenly, a large trench appeared before us.
The trench seemed bottomless; in any case, all Lin Chuchu could see below was darkness.
With nothing else around, Lin Chuchu was taken back to the submarine. The small door opened, and everyone crawled inside.
Lin Chuchu finally saw clearly that there seemed to be a water pump inside the door, and the water level gradually receded until it disappeared.
A small fish, no bigger than a palm, hopped around on the ground, but soon quieted down due to lack of oxygen, seemingly conserving its energy.
The doors opened one by one, and the group quickly entered the submarine's cabin.
At this moment, many people turned to look at Lin Chuchu, their eyes filled with curiosity.
They had signed a confidentiality agreement, but it was also the first time they had witnessed a shipwreck disappearing, and they were quite excited.
However, everyone was calm and composed, and no one asked out of curiosity.
Lin Chuchu turned on her oxygen mask and breathed in the fresh air.
The leader of the team asked, "Comrade Lin, shall we go back now, or take a stroll around the area?"
This was asking for Lin Chuchu's opinion. Lin Chuchu hesitated for a moment, then opened the space and glanced at the shipwreck markings. There were signs indicating damage, which meant that things inside the ship's cabin were very likely to have fallen out.
Lin Chuchu was stunned when she saw the amount of gold.
Gold measured in tons... no, it's gold mines, where the gold needs to be refined.
Even so, it was enough to dazzle Lin Chuchu.
"The shipwreck is damaged, and I suspect that gold ore has flowed into the trench, so... should we go into the trench and take a look?"
Lin Chuchu suggested, because she didn't know how much had leaked out, and if she could go down there, she would definitely want to retrieve it; she didn't want it to benefit Japan.
The leader nodded. "Alright, let's go down and take a look."
The submarine slowly started moving, and because they might have to go out again soon, they didn't change out of their heavy diving suits.
At that time, the diving suits were very heavy and bulky, but they were the best diving suits that China could make.
Hopefully, there will be some new discoveries among the submarines brought back from Russia.
The submarine slowly advanced to the top of the trench, and then gradually descended.
The trench is wide enough for submarines to enter.
The soldiers in the submarine kept their eyes glued to the screen, afraid of missing anything.
I don't know how long we've been submerged, but the visibility outside suddenly dropped, and even with the high beams shining, we couldn't see what was ahead.
"Sir, what do we do now?"
This situation clearly cannot continue, so the commander could only wave his hand regretfully and say, "Go back!"
"Yes, sir!"
Lin Chuchu remained silent throughout. She agreed with the leader's suggestion; with the view obstructed, no one knew what the scene below the trench might be like.
Just then, a loud thud came from outside the submarine. The sound was muffled but very powerful, and the entire submarine shook violently.
Lin Chuchu's eyes widened. What was that? A shark? Or a whale?
Team Leader Qin and several others stood guard around Lin Chuchu, with Team Leader Qin's expression serious.
"Comrade Lin, don't worry, we will protect you."
Everything was going smoothly until, unexpectedly, something went wrong when it was time to leave.
Everyone present except Lin Chuchu remained calm. The commander said in a steady voice, "Speed up and get out of the trench as soon as possible."
Nothing could be seen outside, and the creature was hidden in the shadows. It was impossible to tell what it was or what direction it was in from the submarine.
The submarine's speed increased.
Bang!
There was another impact, even more powerful than the last one.
Lin Chuchu bit her lip, her eyes filled with self-blame and guilt. If it weren't for her suggestion, she wouldn't have been attacked.
If something happens, she will feel guilty for the rest of her life.
Perhaps sensing Lin Chuchu's emotions, Captain Qin patted her shoulder without saying anything, but it was a silent comfort.
The submarine finally left the murky waters, and visibility returned, allowing them to see the figures that had attacked them.
It was a shark, a very large one, and it was just testing the waters, seemingly trying to figure out what it was.
Sharks also have a sense of territory and were curious about the suddenly appearing submarine; they had just been ramming the submarine with their heads.
The commander's expression was somewhat solemn, but he did not give the order to fire the torpedoes. If one torpedo failed to kill them, it would provoke a counterattack from the sharks, and then they might have to fight to the death.
They weren't there to help the Sakura Kingdom clean up the sea; their main task was to protect Lin Chuchu and bring her back safely.
Sharks darted around the submarine, even opening their mouths to bite at its hull.
Fortunately, the submarine was made of very sturdy materials, and the shark's teeth did not bite through it.
Unable to bite it or swallow it whole, the shark attacked a few more times before finally wobbling away and returning to the trench.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief as the enormous creature departed.
The group didn't linger, and the submarine slowly made its way towards the surface.
Until the mission was successfully completed, the warship had no intention of sending the gold ore in Lin Chuchu's space back.
