Chapter 254: The Mistake is Exposed, and Father Mu Gets a Beating

Mu Chen's breath hitched, and the thought of his mother's broom made his scalp tingle.

Despite his impressive fighting skills, his mother's broom seemed to have a fixed position, hitting him precisely on the buttocks.

No matter how fast he jumped around, he couldn't escape his mother's broom.

When he was little, he was a tough kid. The other kids in the family compound couldn't stand him and would bully him. There were a few times when they complained to his family.

Then he was going to get a beating.

Later, as he grew up and became more mature, he was rarely beaten anymore.

However, after several injuries, including that time when he was undercover, his buttocks would swell for several days every time his mother found out.

Unfortunately, this is something you can't talk about; you can only go to work with a straight face and grit your teeth.

"Chuchu, you have to help me."

Mu Chen looked at Lin Chuchu as if pleading for help, but Lin Chuchu ignored his expression and wore a gloating look on her face.

"I can't help you."

She was keeping it a secret from Mu's family, and wouldn't her mother blame her then? Although there was no conflict between the two of them, Mu's mother doted on her and would make her many beautiful clothes.

But what if Mu's mother feels sorry for her son? What if she gets angry with him for not telling Mu's mother?

Thinking of this, Lin Chuchu couldn't sit still any longer. Should she tell Mu's mother about Mu Chen's injury?

While she was hesitating, someone made the decision for her—it was her father, Mr. Mu. These past two days, Mr. Mu had been asking for money to buy things, and someone had even seen him going to a state-run restaurant to buy food.

After hearing these things from Mu's mother, she couldn't help but become suspicious. Could Mu's father have done something to betray her?

Did you find someone else outside?

Thinking of this, Mother Mu couldn't sit still any longer.

So, after following him, she discovered that Mu's father had come to the hospital.

The hospital? Is that woman staying at the hospital? Is she sick? Pregnant?

As soon as the two thoughts crossed her mind, the veins on Mu's forehead throbbed, and she could no longer hold back as she rushed forward.

Just as Mr. Mu was about to enter the hospital, a woman suddenly rushed out from the side. He recognized her as his wife and immediately felt a little guilty.

"Wife, what brings you here?"

As soon as he asked the question, Mr. Mu was slapped across the face, leaving him completely stunned.

"You're asking me what's wrong? Why are you at the hospital? Who's staying here? You're not keeping a mistress on the side, are you?"

When Mr. Mu came to his senses, his face was swollen.

As soon as Mu's mother started to wail, a crowd gathered around, eager to watch the spectacle.

Mr. Mu's forehead was covered in cold sweat, and he quickly stepped forward to cover Mrs. Mu's mouth.

Mother Mu stared at him in shock, her face filled with disbelief, her eyes red-rimmed, looking at him as if he were a heartless man.

Mr. Mu said in a low voice, "Don't be ridiculous, I didn't raise a child."

They actually said she was being ridiculous?

Mu's mother struggled desperately, opening her mouth to bite Mu's father's hand, her face full of sadness and despair, as if she wanted to fight Mu's father to the death.

Mr. Mu was speechless. He knew that if he didn't explain things clearly, he wouldn't be allowed into the room for the next few days.

"Honey, stop it. Our son is injured, and Chuchu is taking care of him inside. I've come to bring them food."

Mr. Mu felt his daughter-in-law gradually calming down and breathed a sigh of relief. "I'm letting you go now, but you can't shout anymore."

Mother Mu rolled her eyes at him, signaling with her eyes that he should let go of her right now, or he'd be in big trouble.

Her son was injured, how could she be in the mood to argue with him? She really has no tact.

After her mouth was released, Mu's mother kicked Mu's father's leg to feel relieved.

What a blockhead! Why didn't you say so sooner? You deserved to be hit.

That's what I said, but I still feel a little sorry for her. We've been married for so long, and I felt embarrassed to apologize to her.

Mu's mother rushed into the hospital in a flurry, with Mu's father following behind carrying food.

Lin Chuchu was full of surprise when she saw Mu's mother. "Mom, what brings you here?"

When she saw Mr. Mu follow her in, she understood. It seemed that Mr. Mu hadn't been able to hide it from her.

When Mu's mother entered the room, she first looked at Mu Chen and saw that his arms and legs were intact, but his face was a little pale. He was not seriously injured or unconscious.

She breathed a sigh of relief before answering Lin Chuchu's question.

"I heard from your dad that Mu Chen was injured, so I came to check on him."

Lin Chuchu said apologetically, "Mom, I'm so sorry, I..."

Mother Mu waved her hand, "It's not your fault, it's your father's fault. You took care of Chen'er all night, it's normal that you didn't think to inform your mother."

She was the last to know her son was injured, and now she's only angry with Mu's father.

We've been married for so long, how can you not know what's important? You're so dense.

Mu Chen greeted him in a low voice. Mu's mother walked to his side and reached out to touch him.

Her eyes stung with tears; her son had been injured again.

"Where are you hurt? Why didn't you take care of yourself? If something happened to you, how would your parents live? How would Chuchu live?"

She took a few deep breaths, trying to suppress her anger, afraid that her heart wouldn't be able to take it.

The son is injured, and the daughter-in-law has to take care of him. She can't afford to have any more accidents, or the family will be ruined.

Mu Chen comforted her, "Mom, my injury isn't serious. I'll recover after a while. I promise you it won't happen again."

Mother Mu glared at him, "You want a next time?"

Mu Chen quickly shook his head, "No, no, absolutely not."

To distract himself, he noticed the obvious handprint on his father's face.

Mr. Mu looked away uncomfortably.

"Mom, my dad's face..."

"Your dad deserved to have crashed into a tree; he didn't even tell me about such a serious accident!"
