Lin Chuchu smiled and exchanged a few polite words with the minister, not taking it seriously. There were many people in the country who were far more capable than Lin Chuchu.
After waiting a while, the simple test finally ended. This was only the first round, and ten people were left. Next, they will receive training to learn about the product.
They had very little time left. The next day, only four of them remained, and Lin Chuchu naturally stayed behind.
On the day of the exhibition, Lin Chuchu wore a white shirt, jeans, and light makeup.
Her hair was styled in a ponytail, making her look neat and tidy.
They arrived early to familiarize themselves with the venue and meet with the heads of each exhibition area.
The people from the electronics factory saw Lin Chuchu and their eyes lit up; they immediately surrounded her.
"Comrade Lin, it's been a long time. I'm so glad to see you."
"Comrade Lin, we've finished making the refrigerator you designed. Come with us to take a look in a bit."
Lin Chuchu laughed and chatted with everyone for a while before going to see the refrigerator they had mentioned. It had a dark red exterior, looked lightweight, and was quite compact. They even demonstrated its cooling effect to Lin Chuchu.
"The upper insulation layer can be adjusted to a temperature between 3 and 6 degrees Celsius, while the lower freezing layer is around -15 degrees Celsius. It has a large space and is suitable for family use."
The factory manager's face was full of pride.
People in other exhibition areas were confused. "Comrade, did this translator design your refrigerator? Isn't she a translator?"
The factory manager grinned and laughed heartily, "Comrade Lin is a very capable comrade. You all have fans, right? Those were designed by Comrade Lin. Color TVs, radios, soy milk makers, and refrigerators were all her suggestions."
Everyone stared at Lin Chuchu in shock. Lin Chuchu quickly shook her head, "This is all thanks to the colleagues at the electronics factory. It has little to do with me."
Despite saying that, the comrade from the steel plant came over and said, "Comrade Lin, we've produced agricultural tractors, but we don't feel quite right about them. Could you take a look and give us some advice?"
He had long coveted the electronics factory business, and he knew Lin Chuchu's role in it.
I never had the chance to see him before, but now that I've finally met him, how could I possibly miss it?
Gradually, more and more people gathered around, regardless of whether they had heard of it or not.
Lin Chuchu smiled and saw the person off before leading Mu Chen to the minister's side.
"Minister, how long will our exhibition last? What time does it end today?"
The minister was very satisfied with Lin Chuchu and was naturally willing to answer her questions.
"Today it will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and starting tomorrow it will be held at 8 a.m. for four consecutive days."
Lin Chuchu frowned. "It's been so long, won't they get hungry? What if they get thirsty? Should we go out and come back in? I didn't see any souvenirs in the various exhibition areas, shouldn't we prepare some?"
Lin Chuchu casually offered this reminder.
Ah... this...
The minister paused for a moment, realizing that Lin Chuchu's words made some sense.
This was their first time holding such an exhibition, and they were a little surprised.
"What should we do? Is there enough time?"
The minister did not accuse Lin Chuchu of meddling, but instead asked her questions seriously.
"Food and water are easy to solve. Call the manufacturers and get some drinks and bottled water. Don't electronics factories have soy milk machines? Have someone send soybeans over and we can make soy milk on the spot."
“State-run restaurants are very busy, but we are here to earn foreign exchange for the country. Let’s ask if there are any chefs who know how to make steamed buns, twisted rolls and dumplings who can come over.”
"We asked some departments if they had family members who could make dumplings, wontons, and pies. We didn't need them to be experts, as long as they tasted good."
"It would be best if we could hire some chefs who specialize in local cuisine."
Lin Chuchu was also thinking of them and didn't feel she was overstepping her bounds at all. The minister listened attentively.
Just as the minister was about to order someone to make arrangements, Lin Chuchu continued, "It would be best to set up a private room upstairs, put tables and chairs in it, and the garment factory should have some nice fabrics to use as tablecloths temporarily. It would also be best to put some flowers in it."
"Foreign friends love face, so we set up some gongs and drums. Once a contract is signed, we beat the gongs and hire a few hostesses to give them a grand show."
The minister suddenly realized, "Like a restaurant opening?"
"right."
Lin Chuchu had only thought of these things on the spur of the moment, her mind racing. When she felt that was enough, she stopped talking.
The minister has arranged everything; all that's left is to wait.
"Food and water are taken care of, but what about souvenirs? What should we do with the souvenirs?"
Lin Chuchu tapped her head. "Are there any colleagues from cardboard box factories in our exhibition area?"
The group arrived at the cardboard box factory's exhibition area. The cardboard box factory was connected to the timber factory and made hand-carved products.
Perfect timing, we can do it together.
The factory manager of the cardboard box factory watched Lin Chuchu wander around aimlessly, occasionally picking up a cardboard box and examining it.
After a while, Lin Chuchu finally took out a box of a suitable size.
"That's it, factory manager. Are you from the local area? How many of these boxes can you get?"
The factory manager recalled for a moment, "There are 47 in total. These are not difficult to make; I can make them on the spot."
Lin Chuchu looked at the minister, who immediately understood and went to discuss the follow-up matters.
At this moment, before the exhibition had even started, people from all the exhibition areas came over and pointed at Lin Chuchu.
Lin Chuchu took out some paper and started drawing by hand, the twelve zodiac animals, in cute chibi style.
He handed twelve sheets of paper to the lumber mill, saying, "They don't need to be too big, about half the size of my palm. Can your master carve them?"
The lumber mill manager took it and immediately nodded, "Yes, all the craftsmen in our mill can carve it."
