Chapter 397 Building a Signal Tower in a Deep Pit and on a Cliff

Although Lin Chuchu was nervous, she was sure that there wouldn't be any problems since Captain Qin had a plan.

The group stopped in a forest. The forest was not large, and the trees were not very tall, but the weeds on the ground were lush and almost half a person tall.

The group dispersed and hid in the bushes. Qin Dui and Liu Xiaonuan were next to Lin Chuchu.

Lin Chuchu huddled in the grass, not daring to show her face. Unlike others, she didn't have such keen senses.

In order not to cause trouble for others, try to minimize your presence.

After a while, they heard the sound of car engines, and then several trucks passed by.

They could even hear the soldiers shouting and cursing, seemingly cursing their superiors for waking them up so early in the morning while the officers were sleeping in the camp, which made them feel resentful.

Lin Chuchu felt that the enemy's voice was very close to her, as if she could be discovered if she looked up even slightly.

Her hands and feet were almost numb, but she dared not move at all.

Just as the convoy was about to pass, the last two cars suddenly stopped, and someone got out and walked towards them.

Lin Chuchu's expression immediately tensed up, and her palms became sweaty.

The two people beside her sensed Lin Chuchu's nervousness, and Liu Xiaonuan gently grasped Lin Chuchu's hand.

Lin Chuchu's tense mood eased as she heard someone whistling.

I came down to pee.

Lin Chuchu gradually relaxed, and after a while, the car started up again and drove away.

One of the soldiers stood up, cursing and swearing.

Those around him burst into laughter, "You're so unlucky! Why did you have to be chosen?"

It turned out that the place where the man had just urinated was exactly where he was hiding, and some of the urine got on him.

The soldier laughed and cursed, "Get lost!" Even if he was angry, he couldn't grab the enemy and beat him up.

Lin Chuchu brushed the dust off her clothes and felt relaxed as she listened to their laughter and chatter.

"Alright, let's hurry up and get out of this awful place as soon as possible."

Team Leader Qin stopped the group from fooling around. They were now close to the border, and driving would make them too conspicuous, so they decided to walk.

The group moved quickly, and after an hour, they finally arrived at the border. The moment they crossed the border, they knew they were safe.

Just then, a series of footsteps suddenly came from the enemy camp, causing chaos as several teams split up and searched in all directions.

However, no one expected that the person they were looking for had already returned to China.

The division commander arrived as quickly as possible and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that everyone was safe and sound.

"You guys are incredibly audacious to have caused such a commotion. Now the enemy on the other side is searching for you all over the world."

Team Leader Qin said with a grin.

"Don't worry, Commander. We've timed it perfectly. Everything will be fine."

The division commander got angry when he heard this and slapped him on the back of the head.

"You should finish half a day earlier; this is far too risky."

"Well, at least they all came back safely. They're probably going crazy over there now. Such a huge stone forest disappeared in just a few days. Haha, they're probably scared to death right now."

If the Stone Forest can disappear, wouldn't they disappear too if the target were them?

Who are these enemies? We can't even see a shadow of them.

Lin Chuchu told Team Leader Qin about what had happened in China in the past few days. When he learned that another iron mine had been discovered, Team Leader Qin's eyes lit up.

With so many mountains in China, if every place could be mined, wouldn't the country have no shortage of minerals?

Should we tell the higher-ups about this? Or should we deal with the immediate problem first?

Several more explosions occurred within a single day in China.

This completely baffled the enemy on the other side, who initially thought that the events in Shilin were orchestrated by the Chinese.

But at this moment, it seems that's not the case.

Lin Chuchu took out the huge rocks, and the geologists began to measure the required height and thickness. If they were suitable, they would be used directly; if not, they would have to continue using explosives.

The airport here isn't officially in use yet, so it's being used as a workbench. Several huge stones are placed on it, and a bunch of people are studying them, wondering if Lin Chuchu needs to help them change the direction.

After the research here was almost done, Lin Chuchu was taken to the swamp and used the smaller stones from her home to fill in the swamp.

Now that they have enough stones, they've added two larger swampy areas in addition to the area they initially enclosed.

They didn't fill it all in; they left some, so it doesn't count as damaging the environment.

The stones sank little by little, and when the rate of descent slowed down, Chu Chu and the others stopped throwing stones into the pit.

When they came back the next day, some of the stones had been completely submerged, while in other places, quite a few stones remained.

Lin Chuchu then filled in the area that had been submerged by the stone again.

Then it was just a matter of waiting quietly.

Another day passed, and the stones stopped sinking, so everyone realized that the swamp had been filled in.

They are not in a hurry to build the signal tower; it would be best to wait a few more days.

With the swamp problem solved, the next issue is the cliff area.

The top of the cliff is narrow and the soil is loose, making it impossible to build a signal tower there. Therefore, the experts suggest building a suspended signal tower on the side of the cliff.

The cliffs are very high, and it would have been unrealistic to erect a pillar from the ground, but now we have the giant rocks of the Stone Forest.

They dug a huge pit in the ground and inserted the giant stones of the Stone Forest upside down into the pit, so that it was narrow at the bottom and wide at the top.

Moreover, these stones are very sturdy and will not break easily.

At the bottom, they used mud, sand, red bricks, etc., to build a base around the stones.

To make the entire boulder more stable.

Next is the platform for building the signal tower.

The rock is right next to the cliff face. The workers started installing steel bars directly on the boulder. The other end of the steel bars was deeply inserted into the cliff face. With these two measures in place, the signal tower is absolutely sturdy and will not collapse or break down within a hundred years.

As the signal tower was gradually completed, the group built two giant stone platforms on either side of the tower in the same way, to be used interchangeably in the future.

With the problem on this side of the cliff solved, now it's just a matter of the deep pit.

The pit had a very large entrance diameter, and the surrounding soil was loose, so we dared not build any scaffolding on it.

Finally, they decided to use the same method to build pillars from the bottom of the pit, using the pillars as the center of gravity to stabilize the signal tower.

Such deep pits cannot be filled with boulders, but steel frames can be built using reinforced steel.
