Lin Chuchu returned the book to the old professor, who was stunned by how fast she had done it.
"You really remembered it?"
The old professor asked Lin Chuchu incredulously.
Lin Chuchu nodded and began to read aloud the pictures in the space.
The old professor's eyes widened, filled with disbelief.
The entire page was free of typos and stutters.
The old professor turned another page. It wasn't that he didn't believe it, but he just wanted to be careful.
After reading the two pages, the old professor was completely convinced and was so excited that he almost burst into tears.
"Alright, alright, we're counting on you this time."
"Chuchu, you are very good. Thank you. Thank you for helping China now."
Lin Chuchu shook her head. "Teacher, this is what I should do."
Their country is poor, but they love their country deeply and take every opportunity to help it.
Lin Chuchu was about to enter the lab, so she decided to make a long-distance call home.
I don't know how the child is doing.
Lin Chuchu chose a time when Mu Chen and his mother should be home and called home.
As soon as the call connected, Lin Chuchu heard the babbling of two children.
Lin Chuchu's heart softened; she missed home and her child.
"Chuchu, how have you been lately? Have you been eating well? Is the food cold over there?"
Mu Chen asked.
Lin Chuchu wanted to say that the food wasn't good, but she didn't want her family to worry, so she could only say that it was alright.
Lin Chuchu only exchanged a few words with Mu Chen and Mu's mother before hanging up the phone.
After resting for a day, Lin Chuchu went to the laboratory with the senior professors.
The laboratory was filled with armed men.
Lin Chuchu could tell that they were all soldiers.
With Lin Chuchu's arrival, the soldiers weren't worried at all; instead, they seemed to be watching the spectacle with amusement.
Even if there were more people, let alone more, they still wouldn't be able to remember all that information.
The old professors looked normal, but they were both happy and worried.
Apart from the old professor, no one else had personally witnessed Lin Chuchu's abilities.
They study everything here, but none of it is considered top-secret research, which is why they opened it up and allowed people from China to come in and learn.
Lin Chuchu found a room that had everything she needed, including a change of clothes.
After a while, Lin Chuchu finally left the room.
When Lin Chuchu saw the huge laboratory in front of her, she was stunned.
Many lab technicians in white coats were discussing something among themselves.
Behind them, the teachers could only stand behind and help them.
Lin Chuchu was assigned to organize documents and had no contact with the lab technicians.
Naturally, they came into contact with classified information, but what they didn't know was that this was exactly what Lin Chuchu wanted.
The files were scattered and needed to be organized. Every time Lin Chuchu organized one file, another picture was added to her space.
This group of people didn't let Lin Chuchu have any free time, sending over documents one after another, leaving her no chance to examine them much.
What they didn't know was that Lin Chuchu could take a picture in the space in just one second.
After a busy morning, it was lunchtime soon.
They were forbidden to talk while eating, so each of them sat at a table far apart.
Lin Chuchu finally got to eat white rice, along with normal meat and vegetable dishes.
Lin Chuchu ate with relish. She wished she could eat rice during the next month and a half she was here.
After finishing their meal, they had to continue working. Seeing how quickly and well Lin Chuchu organized the documents, she was assigned to this position.
In just one day, Lin Chuchu lost count of how much she had recorded, because there was simply too much.
On one occasion, I happened to see the old professor coming over with someone, looking at Lin Chuchu.
Lin Chuchu nodded slightly at him.
The old professor breathed a sigh of relief; as long as Lin Chuchu could remember a third of the documents, that would be fine.
He simply couldn't imagine how someone could memorize so much information in just a second or two.
For the next month, Lin Chuchu stayed in the lab. Whatever was needed or missing, someone would prepare it. All they had to do was work.
In just one month, Lin Chuchu accessed a total of 12 complete documents, as well as a considerable amount of other important research data.
When she went out, Lin Chuchu was searched and stripped naked. Two female soldiers searched her entire body.
A female soldier pinched her buttocks.
"You Chinese are just shy. We're all women, what's there to be shy about?"
Lin Chuchu's face flushed red, partly from shame and partly from feeling humiliated.
Their country will surely become stronger.
Everyone returned to the dormitory. Lin Chuchu didn't even have time to talk to Liu Jiarui before she immediately started washing up.
There are showers in the lab, but there are time restrictions; taking a shower is like fighting a battle.
Liu Jiarui knew what she could and couldn't ask, but she brought Lin Chuchu a dinner when she went to the cafeteria that evening.
Feeling clean, Lin Chuchu returned to her dorm. Liu Jiarui was already back, and the meal was the familiar hamburger.
"There are no steamed buns in the cafeteria today. They usually serve steamed buns every Wednesday."
Lin Chuchu laughed, "When I was in the lab, I ate Chinese food for a month, and I ate fewer hamburgers."
Liu Jiarui's eyes lit up, and she said enviously, "That's great. We're almost sick of eating hamburgers. I'm okay, though. I can still occasionally eat some steamed buns with mushroom sauce. Those male classmates are really suffering."
Liu Jiarui said gloatingly.
Even though they were all from the same country, it couldn't stop Liu Jiarui from mocking them.
Lin Chuchu guessed that most of her male classmates had lost weight.
