"Lin Chuchu, do you dare? Say something, or I'll look down on you."
The woman continued shouting.
Lin Chuchu scoffed, "Who do you think you are? You look down on others? Fine, tell me, how do you want to compete? In academic subjects like English or computer skills?"
The sounds from inside the classroom carried outside, where a large crowd had gathered, including two teachers and a department head.
Lin Chuchu was a popular figure at school and a model student in the eyes of the teachers.
They watched Lin Chuchu nervously, worried that she might get hurt.
The girl was instantly dumbfounded. She wasn't good at any of these subjects; the only one she was somewhat good at was computer science.
"That's not fair. You're a good student, and I can't compare to you. Let's compare something else."
Her eyes lit up. "Let's have a dance competition, or a running competition."
Lin Chuchu is a good student; she definitely can't compare to her.
Lin Chuchu rolled her eyes. "Xu Jia, I disagree too. The subjects you mentioned aren't what we study. We're students; if we're not comparing subjects we've studied, what are we comparing?"
Xu Jia said, "No, I'm not as good as you in academic subjects, how can I take the academic exam?"
Neither of them would back down, because no matter whose version of events they agreed with, the other felt it was unfair.
In the end, the teachers and the headmaster decided on the exam subjects: the computer test would be on who could type the fastest, running, and the third test would be on drawing.
The time is set for tomorrow, and all students and teachers present are welcome to attend.
Xu Jia looked at Lin Chuchu with a smug look in his eyes, as if he was determined to win.
"Lin Chuchu, let's raise the stakes. If you lose, you have to run around the dormitory building shouting, 'Lin Chuchu, I'm a pig!' How about it? You dare?"
Lin Chuchu narrowed her eyes and looked at her for several seconds. "Fine, I agree. If you lose, the same applies."
Xu Jia laughed heartily, "How could that be? I won't lose."
Xu Jia's eyes were full of pride; she was determined to win tomorrow.
Lin Chuchu walked out of the school, and Mu Chen was waiting for her beside her. The two of them were riding bicycles. There were very few cars on the street at the moment, and the two of them hurried home one after the other.
When no one is around, the two bicycles ride side by side.
"My classmates in the computer class want to have a competition with me tomorrow morning. Can you take the day off tomorrow?"
Lin Chuchu looked at Mu Chen expectantly. Mu Chen was also a senior this year, and he was even busier because he had already started his internship.
The police station where Mu Chen interned was also in Beijing. Because Mu Chen had completed many tasks during his school years and received first-class merit and several second-class merits, he was assigned to be a squad leader.
I'm usually very busy.
Mu Chen thought for a moment, "I should be able to take two hours off tomorrow, then I'll come find you."
Lin Chuchu's eyes lit up, and she immediately smiled.
"good."
The next morning, there were no classes during the first period, so Lin Chuchu and Mu Chen went to school together.
Many people had already arrived in the classroom, including several teachers, the headmaster, and two vice principals.
With so many people around, Xu Jia couldn't help but feel nervous, while Lin Chuchu remained calm.
I greeted each of the teachers.
A teacher stepped forward to explain the rules, and several referees followed.
"We and the vice principal are all referees, ensuring fairness and impartiality. Your class can rest assured, right?"
The main question was directed at Xu Jia, since he was the one who started the whole thing.
"no problem!"
"No problem, thank you, teacher and principal."
The first competition was typing speed. The two sat in front of a computer, and Xu Jia gave Lin Chuchu a provocative look.
"Ready... Go!"
You have five minutes to type an article. The more articles you type and the more accurate they are, the winner is the one who types the most.
Modern keyboards are all white, and they make a creaking sound when used. Combined with the quiet surroundings, the sound of the keyboard can be quite jarring.
The listener's heart tightened more and more.
The teacher would read out the time every minute.
"Three minutes left... two minutes left... then one minute..."
The last minute was nerve-wracking. Lin Chuchu paused for a moment before continuing.
"stop!"
As soon as the stop sound came out, a loud banging on a keyboard suddenly came from Xu Jia's end.
All eyes were drawn to Xu Jia, whose face was ashen and whose eyes were filled with anger.
It seems that Xu Jia didn't type much in the final stages.
Xu Jia didn't say anything, because she chose the computer herself and experimented with it herself, so it had nothing to do with the computer, but with her own skill level.
The two teachers sat in front of the computer to check, and after a while, the results finally came out.
"Xu Jia, 1234 characters, 28 misspelled characters."
"Lin Chuchu, 1563 characters, 3 misspelled characters."
Lin Chuchu won the first round.
The second round began quickly. In the drawing round, Xu Jia let out a cold laugh, "I lost to you before because of my mistake, but I will never lose in drawing."
Lin Chuchu glanced at her indifferently. There was a time limit for drawing; they were only given 15 minutes, and the two of them couldn't draw anything too difficult.
Lin Chuchu couldn't draw, so she practiced by tracing pictures from books in her spatial dimension, but that was all she could do, and her drawings weren't very good.
Xu Jia was very pleased with himself after losing the second match. "Haha, Lin Chuchu, and the running game too. I'd like to see how you lose to me. Just wait and see if you'll be shouting 'I'm a pig' around the dormitory building."
As soon as he finished speaking, Mu Chen frowned. He had just learned that there was actually a wager involved in this competition.
The group arrived at the playground. The rules for the race were simple: 800 meters, and whoever reached the finish line first would win.
Mu Chen helped her move her hands and feet. He wanted to say that he had done his best, but seeing Lin Chuchu's determined eyes, he held back his words.
