Chapter 53 Murderer

"Mom, I've already told her to leave, but she just won't go, like she can't understand what I'm saying."

"She's a very hardworking person, so why is she keeping an eye on me, someone who's already in a relationship?"

Mu Chen frowned. "I'll talk to our teacher and explain things when we get back to school."

Mother Mu slapped him again, "How are you going to go and find out about this? I'm sure she won't come looking for you this time. You should talk to girls less in the future."

Because of the girl, Mu's mother temporarily forgot her intention to lecture Mu Chen.

Lin Chuchu didn't interrupt, but instead took the fruit to wash.

On her way back, she saw someone lurking suspiciously at Mu Chen's door, eavesdropping.

Lin Chuchu gave a soft shout.

"What are you doing? Who are you? Why are you eavesdropping?"

The man was startled and waved his hands repeatedly, "I, I just saw a woman in the room, I..."

To put it bluntly, he just wanted to hear gossip.

Lin Chuchu snorted, "My mother-in-law is in the room. Should we ask her to come out and ask what they talked about?"

The other person's expression changed, and they quickly said with a smile, "It's a misunderstanding, it's all a misunderstanding. You're Comrade Mu's girlfriend, right? Hehe, I just think Comrade Mu is quite popular."

The woman who came before was very beautiful. I didn't expect her boyfriend to be so good-looking too. Sigh, there are so many beautiful women in the family and in the wild. This Comrade Mu is quite something.

Upon hearing the sound, Mu's mother immediately became alarmed. She glared at Mu Chen, determined to settle the score with him once she recovered.

Then she opened the door and left, letting Lin Chuchu come in while she dealt with the man herself.

These gossipy men need to be given a good warning; we can't let them gossip about it.

Lin Chuchu walked to the bedside, handed him the fruit, and then picked up an apple and ate it herself.

Mu Chen took one but didn't eat it, his gaze fixed on Lin Chuchu's face.

Lin Chuchu rolled her eyes at him. "Eat up, don't act like I'm abusing you."

Mu Chen took a bite, remained silent for a moment, and said, "Chu Chu, are you still angry? I know I was wrong, and I won't do it again. Believe me, next time if anything happens, I will definitely tell you immediately."

Lin Chuchu's eyes suddenly reddened, and her voice rose a little, "You want a next time!"

Mu Chen shook his head and quickly said, "There won't be a next time, absolutely not a next time. I promise you, I won't let myself get hurt."

After he finished speaking, the two of them fell silent for a moment. Mu Chen knew that this matter had frightened Chu Chu.

Feeling incredibly guilty, he could only look at Lin Chuchu cautiously.

Lin Chuchu sighed. She was no longer angry; she just felt sorry for him.

"I applied for the scope of individual business operation in my own name, but I don't know if it will be approved."

"Mom and Dad said that the policies will become more and more lenient in the future, so it shouldn't affect my translation work."

"By the way, I'll probably be working part-time as a translator in the future, and I don't really want to be stuck in the office all the time."

Lin Chuchu rambled on about her plans.

This was a decision she had made after careful consideration, and she knew that Mu Chen would support her.

The two spoke in hushed tones, and Mu Chen quietly took Lin Chuchu's hand.

Seeing that the two had finally reconciled, Mother Mu breathed a sigh of relief.

She knew that her son and Chu Chu had a fight. It was her son's fault to begin with, but the young couple still needed to talk things out.

Mu Chen stayed in the hospital for another three days. Lin Chuchu took a few days off to take care of Mu Chen during the day, and Mu's mother came to take care of him at night.

Three days later, the doctor allowed him to be discharged, but he still needed to rest.

The day after I returned home, a group of people suddenly arrived at my house carrying a plaque.

Before they even reached the door, firecrackers were set off.

When Lin Chuchu saw the words "Family of First-Class Merit" on the plaque, she wanted nothing more than to drag Mu Chen up and beat him up.

To be awarded a first-class merit while still alive, how difficult must the mission have been? No wonder Mu Chen suffered such severe injuries.

Lin Chuchu accepted the medal box and envelope from her superior with a serious expression, secretly grinding her teeth, wondering which part to bite later.

The noise was so loud that the neighbors on both sides came to watch. Mu's mother and father were also invited over. The leader held their hands and kept praising them, almost making Mu Chen a flower in the sunlight.

Seeing that someone was receiving the leaders, Lin Chuchu asked them to help hang the plaque at the top of the main room so that it would be visible as soon as the door was opened.

This is something her man risked his life for, and she won't hide it. She wants everyone to give Mu Chen a thumbs up.

After seeing everyone off, Mu's mother went to cook, while Mu's father went to buy wine.

Only Lin Chuchu and Mu Chen remained in the room.

Mu Chen groaned inwardly, "Oh no, I'll have to explain myself again."

Lin Chuchu pinched Mu Chen's waist several times before letting go.

"By the way, I have to go on a business trip tomorrow. You stay home and take good care of your injury. Mom will stay home with you."

Mu Chen looked at his wife with a pitiful expression; his wife was too busy with work.

They're always traveling around, not just his wife, but him too.

The next morning, after Lin Chuchu finished getting ready, she walked out of the yard, where a car was already waiting for her at the entrance of an alley.

This time, she was asked to help with translation because a foreign leader was making a secret visit to China.

Translation work was a piece of cake for her. She didn't care about the other person's identity; she just needed to do her job well.

Time was of the essence, so her superiors simply gave her a plane ticket and told her to fly there.

This was Lin Chuchu's first time on an airplane. She had never flown before in her previous life, so everything seemed new and exciting.

Lin Chuchu was dressed in loose clothing, which didn't show her belly much. Others just thought she was a little chubby.
