A man was murdered in the middle of the city and the murder was staged as a suicide. The police were having a headache when they were analyzing the case.
"This person's methods are so skillful, could they be a special talent who committed this crime?"
This policeman was new to the job; he was quick-witted and observant. Before others even noticed anything amiss, he had already hit the nail on the head.
The chief looked at the young policeman in front of him, increasingly satisfied, but still shook his head. "Don't jump to conclusions. Analyze the case carefully and catch the murderer as soon as possible."
"Yes, Director."
The bureau chief knows something, but he can't say it.
Once he returned to his office, he smiled slightly and began to report to his superiors.
Having completed his mission, he wanted to commend his comrades who were trapped in darkness and unable to see the light of day.
Knowing that the person he killed was a heinous criminal, Mu Chen still felt uneasy when he returned to the base.
It felt like something was stuck in my chest.
Seeing his gloomy expression, Brother Xiao smiled and leaned closer, "Brother Mu, he betrayed the organization and the boss. He deserves to die."
"Don't feel guilty, there will be many more things like this in the future."
Mu Chen tried to adjust his mindset, and it took him a while to feel a little better. If he were in the military or the police station, he would definitely need psychological intervention, otherwise he would be left with psychological trauma.
Mu Chen said expressionlessly, "When are we leaving? I still need to report to the boss. If it weren't for the boss, I definitely wouldn't have taken on this mission."
Mu Chen gives the impression that he will only complete tasks assigned by his boss in order to repay a debt of gratitude. If others want his help, he will absolutely refuse, and he will not compromise even if someone holds a gun to his head.
This made Xiao Ge, who wanted to get closer to Mu Chen, feel a little embarrassed and annoyed, but he could only swallow his pride. After all, Mu Chen was of a higher rank than him.
"We have to leave the day after tomorrow; we still have some tasks to complete."
Mu Chen nodded, said nothing, and turned to go back to his room.
Someone else, disliking the look, glared fiercely at the door and muttered under their breath, "What's with the arrogance?"
Brother Xiao's smile remained unchanged as he tugged at the person who had spoken, "Alright, stop talking. We need to think carefully about how to complete the mission tomorrow."
Upon hearing this, the latter's eyes widened immediately, and he stared intently at Brother Xiao, lowering his voice as he spoke.
"Brother Xiao, we're so lucky! We didn't expect to find a buyer. If we sell this batch of goods, we'll all be rich."
They had some goods on hand, which they seized from the enemy during a border conflict, and the quantity was quite large.
Of course, Brother Xiao knew this, but he was still a little hesitant. His boss had said never to do business with Chinese people, or he might get burned in China.
But thinking of the goods and everyone's expectant eyes, she bit her lip and said, "Okay, let's do it this once. When you get back, keep your mouths shut. You should know what the consequences will be if you are found out."
"Brother Xiao, don't worry, we brothers are very tight-lipped and won't let anything slip."
“Brother Xiao is willing to consider us, and we are not ungrateful people. From now on, my life belongs to Brother Xiao.”
Everyone showered him with thanks and praise, and Xiao Ge gradually lost himself in their words.
The next day, Lin Chuchu took her two children to the supply and marketing cooperative to buy them some snacks and fruit.
She was about to leave. Since seeing Mu Chen last time, she had not heard from him and did not know if he had left the capital.
After shopping, Lin Chuchu led her two children outside when suddenly, a guard ran over from a short distance and shielded the three of them behind him.
"Comrade Lin, there's been a gunfight not far away. I'll take you away."
Lin Chuchu's heart skipped a beat, her palms were sweaty, and she nodded and said okay.
The two of them, each carrying a child, quickly disappeared into the crowd.
Gunshots rang out one after another, and the crowd panicked. The guards quickly led Lin Chuchu toward an inconspicuous house to the side.
Suddenly, she seemed to smell blood. She unconsciously came to her senses and saw two figures flash by in the crowd.
One of them seemed to glance at Lin Chuchu. Seeing the familiar eyes, Lin Chuchu was startled and unconsciously stopped in her tracks, wanting to chase after that person.
He was then grabbed by the arm by the guards behind him.
"Comrade Lin, it's too dangerous outside. Let's hide here for a while."
Lin Chuchu looked up again, only to find that the familiar person had disappeared.
She was certain that the person who had just been there was Mu Chen, but the smell of blood wasn't coming from Mu Chen, which made her unconsciously breathe a sigh of relief.
She rubbed her head in frustration, unsure whether she should tell her superiors what she had just seen, or whether doing so would affect Mu Chen's mission.
At that moment, she felt too weak. If only she had chosen to join the army when she was eighteen, she might have been able to participate in some missions.
However, if she actually joined the army, she and Mu Chen might not have such a fate.
The guard at the compound they were staying with happened to know them, and the guard was talking to them.
"Comrade Lin, this is the National Security officer in charge of protecting the Mu family. We have been in contact before, which is why I brought you and the two children here."
Lin Chuchu was taken aback at first, then looked at the other person, stood up and thanked them.
"Thank you for protecting my family. If it weren't for you, the Mu family would definitely be in danger."
The other party smiled and shook his head, "You're welcome. It's what we should do. After all, you and Comrade Mu Chen are both good comrades who serve the country and the people."
Lin Chuchu's heart skipped a beat. Ever since Mu Chen's accident, all the outsiders had said about him was negative. No matter how firm her heart was, there were times when she felt lost.
