Chapter 145 I'm so glad I didn't give birth to a daughter

Today's gathering is the one with the most people present, including family and friends.

Mu Chen pulled his father and Liu Rong to drink together, while the women drank juice.

Da Bao and Xiao Bao looked at the new little brother with curiosity and played with him using toys.

"Chuchu, are you going on another business trip?"

Liu Jiarui asked Lin Chuchu in a low voice.

Lin Chuchu nodded. "Yeah, I can stay at home for another five days. I'll have to go to the base after that. Oh, by the way, I should tell you, I'm a researcher now."

"Really? What have you been researching? Aren't you a translator? How did you become a researcher?"

Liu Jiarui asked curiously.

"I don't know if you guys use refrigeration machines. Oh, right, now we should call them air conditioners. We're the ones who researched that."

Lin Chuchu briefly mentioned two things, which drew gasps of surprise from Liu Jiarui.

The two chatted and laughed as they watched the children having fun.

Lin Chuchu also mentioned Aunt Wang, whom she met today.

Mother Mu said, "Stay away from her in the future. Her family isn't good people."

Lin Chuchu and Liu Jiarui exchanged a glance, both seeing the intense gossip in each other's eyes.

Mu's mother said, "Didn't her youngest son get divorced? Not long after, he found someone else, and before they were even married, he got her pregnant."

“This wouldn’t have been a problem in itself, since such things do happen. But unfortunately, Aunt Wang’s youngest son went back to the first one.”

Mother Mu looked constipated. "When the two families were getting engaged, the first one also came looking for us, heavily pregnant."

Aunt Wang came up with a terrible idea: whoever has a son first should be allowed to enter the house first.

The woman who was supposed to get engaged objected, so he took the girl to the hospital that same day and had her abortion.

Later, the woman in front also lost her child.

It was a very ugly situation at the time, and even the police came to try and take Aunt Wang's youngest son to jail.

The person in question is still in prison, and the one before him is trying to extort money before signing a letter of understanding.

The girl's family refused to release her, insisting that Aunt Wang's youngest son go to jail.

Aunt Wang was never popular before, and now she's even less well-liked.

Lin Chuchu and Liu Jiarui gasped in shock, never expecting such a thing to still exist in today's society.

The group chatted and laughed until late at night before Liu Rong and his wife went home.

Mu Chen and Lin Chuchu returned to their home, which had been uninhabited for more than half a year. Even though someone had cleaned it, it looked rather desolate and lacked any sense of warmth or life.

I lit a fire to boil water and quickly washed up.

Lin Chuchu looked at his injuries and felt extremely distressed; one of the scars was right next to his heart.

Lin Chuchu reached out and touched the scar. "Does it hurt a lot?"

His voice was filled with heartache and trembling.

"Promise me you won't take such risks next time, okay?"

Just be a law enforcement officer and stop going undercover.

Mu Chen pulled her into his arms and nuzzled the top of her head with his chin.

He smiled.

"Okay, I promise you."

The two sat on the edge of the bed, close together.

The next day, Lin Chuchu and Mu Chen got up early. They had promised the children that they would take them to school that day, and they couldn't be late.

Children who have their parents with them are happy. The two little ones chattered away, holding their parents' hands, and occasionally running away and then running back.

Lin Chuchu dared not say that she would leave in a few days, otherwise the two little ones would definitely cry.

After sending the two troublesome little ones to kindergarten, Lin Chuchu breathed a sigh of relief. "Luckily, my parents and grandma help take care of the kids. Otherwise, I don't know how I would have been able to raise these two little devils."

Having elderly relatives help take care of children is a blessing.

"Now that we have the family planning policy, if a family had seven or eight children before, we would probably all go crazy."

Mu Chen said that he did think so too. It was fine to be fond of children occasionally, but if he had to face children every day, with all the chaos, he was afraid he would get impatient.

Nowadays, families typically have only one child; having more than one child results in a fine.

I heard that some families have even gone into the mountains to avoid the over-birth squad.

He simply didn't understand families who insisted on having boys. He wanted a girl like Lin Chuchu, but unfortunately, he ended up with twin sons.

When he found out he had given birth to twin sons, the sky fell down.

Lin Chuchu glanced at Mu Chen subconsciously, and couldn't help but laugh, "Are you regretting not having a daughter?"

She knew that Mu Chen liked daughters.

"Of course I regret it. Who would have thought that both children would be sons?"

"My daughter is so sweet and obedient, isn't she better than my naughty son?"

Alright, it's confirmed that Mu Chen is a doting father.

Lin Chuchu said in a low voice, "You should be glad that we didn't have a daughter. Just think about how sad you would be if your daughter got married?"

Mu Chen, "..."

The thought of that scene gave Mu Chen an impulse—an impulse to kill his future son-in-law.

Time flies when you're at home; five days passed in the blink of an eye, and it was time for Lin Chuchu to set off again.

These past two days, Lin Chuchu has rarely picked up or dropped off the children, allowing them to get used to her absence.

After their toys and food were taken away by their father for the nth time, Da Bao and Xiao Bao started to dislike Mu Chen.

Lin Chuchu sighed helplessly. Who could have imagined that it would feel like coaxing three little children?

Mu Chen snatched half an ice cream from his son's hand, gave one to Lin Chuchu, and kept one for himself.

Lin Chuchu eventually managed to eat ice cream while the children were crying and screaming.

On the day of departure, Lin Chuchu made an excuse to go out in the morning and did not send the child off, as did Mu Chen.
