Chapter 108 Chasing People Away with a Broom

Lin Chuchu suddenly opened her eyes, but when she saw a figure sitting by the bed, she was so frightened that she immediately punched him.

Before the fist could even touch his face, it was stopped.

The captain laughed and said, "What, you don't like me as soon as you wake up?"

Lin Chuchu quickly withdrew her fist and awkwardly greeted the captain.

"Captain, I'm sorry, I just woke up and I'm still a little sleepy."

Lin Chuchu smelled the disinfectant in the hospital and suddenly felt a sense of familiarity, so she relaxed and leaned back in her chair.

The captain next to her smiled and handed her a glass of water, saying, "You seem very calm about what happened this time."

Lin Chuchu took the water glass and drank two sips of warm water.

"Having experienced so much, how can one remain calm and hysterical?"

Lin Chuchu smiled wryly, and the captain gave her a surprised look.

"Someone will come to question you in a little while. Just tell them what happened."

Lin Chuchu nodded, and the two remained silent until the police arrived.

Lin Chuchu began to recount her experiences over the past few days.

Threatened and nearly blown up by a bomb, he was later kidnapped and taken to the mountains. He experienced several life-or-death situations, discovered a tomb, and saw the kidnappers kill each other. Then came Chen Long's betrayal.

When Chen Long was mentioned, Lin Chuchu fell silent. Chen Long was a soldier who joined the army after passing a political review and assessment. She never expected him to be such a deeply hidden spy.

However, no one could refute Lin Chuchu's words. Her injuries and the scene the captain witnessed both proved that Lin Chuchu was not lying.

"Comrade Lin, I wonder how you managed to send a text message using a pager when the kidnappers were so vigilant?"

Lin Chuchu frowned slightly. "At first, they looked down on me, so I hid my pager. When I was locked in the box, I used a knife from my pocket to cut the rope before sending the text message."

"Where did you hide the pager? Please answer truthfully."

A police officer spoke sternly.

Lin Chuchu coughed softly, drifted around, and finally gritted her teeth and pointed to her chest.

"This is it."

The police officer blushed and stopped asking questions, quickly scribbling two sentences on a piece of paper.

Lin Chuchu didn't know what the other person had written, and she didn't want to care. In fact, she was already impatient. She wanted to go home, to see her children, her family, and even just to have a meal at home.

She ate bread for several days, until she was almost vomiting acid.

"Comrade Lin, we previously provided you with a pistol and several magazines."

"Since you disappeared, that handgun has also vanished. Do you know where it went?"

Lin Chuchu's heart skipped a beat. Sure enough, the question came up with the pistol. The pistol was in her spatial storage, and she couldn't take it out. She could only stubbornly deny it.

She feigned disbelief. "A handgun? Wasn't the handgun locked in the cabinet? The handgun is gone? What about the gun license?"

The anxiety in his voice didn't seem fake. The police officer observed the other person's expression, trying to discern any changes in his facial expressions indicating he was lying, but found none.

At that moment, the police believed that Lin Chuchu truly did not know about the pistol.

"The gun license and handgun are missing. Comrade Lin, if you have any leads, please notify the police immediately."

"Even if the other party is your family member, you can't hide it. We are all good comrades in the revolution, and we can't just stand by and watch your family member go astray."

The police officer said with a serious expression.

Lin Chuchu nodded, "Don't worry, officers. I'll definitely let you know as soon as I have any leads."

Lin Chuchu could only apologize; she truly could not return the pistol.

After confirming that Lin Chuchu was telling the truth and was not lying, the police quickly released her.

Lin Chuchu inquired and learned that she had been unconscious for three days, and including the days she was missing, a total of eight days had passed.

I wonder how worried my family will be.

Lin Chuchu changed her clothes, took a quick shower, and then headed home.

As she approached home, Lin Chuchu wore a faint smile, her lips curving upwards involuntarily.

“You’re talking nonsense. My father is not a traitor. He’s a hero.”

"Yes, my dad is a soldier, he's not a bad person."

Two childish voices rang out, and Lin Chuchu's expression changed.

She hurried into the house and saw several children holding tree branches, about to hit Da Bao and Xiao Bao.

The parents nearby watched with smiles, making no attempt to stop her, while the grandmother was shielded behind them.

Upon seeing this, Lin Chuchu rushed over instantly.

He shielded the two children behind him.

"What are you doing? Why are you hitting two children?"

Da Bao and Xiao Bao looked at their mother, who stood before them like a hero, and said, "Waaah, Mom, you're finally back! They said Dad..."

In children's hearts, their parents are heroes. How can they tolerate others saying that they are their parents?

Lin Chuchu held the two children in her arms and looked them over, but found no bruises.

Lin Chuchu stood up angrily and looked at the parents of the children opposite her.

"Your child hit my child, didn't you see that?"

An auntie chuckled and said, "Hey, the kids are just playing around, why take it so seriously?"

"Exactly, are we wrong? Their father was a traitor, so why can't others talk about it?"

"That's right, Comrade Lin's thinking is wrong. If it were before, your family would have been criticized and denounced."

They kept teasing her, calling her "playing around" and "being stingy," which made Lin Chuchu's head buzz with anger. She picked up the broom next to her and swept it directly at the aunties.
