Chapter 143 Stand Guard for Your Child

"Grandma, Dad, I'm back."

The two elderly people were very excited and wiped away tears from the corners of their eyes. "Good, good, it's good that you're back. Our family is reunited again."

Mr. Mu had many questions he wanted to ask, but he knew it involved a confidentiality agreement, so he didn't ask anything. He just wanted his son to come back safely.

Everywhere he looked, people were pointing and watching the spectacle. Mu Chen looked tense and felt a little uncomfortable.

Lin Chuchu glanced at him.

She ignored him and instead looked towards the kindergarten entrance.

“During the days you were away, Grandma, Mom, Dad, and the two children endured these stares every day. They couldn’t stand it for even a short while?”

"Don't you like standing guard? Today you'll stand guard properly for the two children."

As soon as he finished speaking, Grandma and Dad looked over, wanting to say something on behalf of their son, but after thinking about it, they swallowed back the words that were on the tip of their tongues.

Mu Chen's eyes instantly turned red, and he stood up straight.

A wave of heartache and guilt washed over me.

After a while, kindergarten let out, and a group of children came out one by one, singing songs.

Lin Chuchu and Mu Chen immediately spotted two children in the crowd who looked exactly alike.

Da Bao and Xiao Bao walked to the door and saw Lin Chuchu. The two little ones immediately pounced on Lin Chuchu, howling.

"Mom, Mom, you're finally back."

"Mommy, Xiaobao misses you."

The two little ones grabbed Lin Chuchu's arms on either side, while Mu Chen beside them... sorry, the police officers didn't recognize him.

Lin Chuchu squatted down and hugged the two of them. With Mu Chen looking on expectantly, she pointed at Mu Chen and said...

"He is your father."

Children grow up quickly and have short memories; they've long forgotten what their fathers look like.

Suppressing the bitterness in his heart, Mu Chen squatted down. After being absent for a year, his children had actually forgotten about their father.

With a choked voice, Mu Chen said to his two children, "Da Bao, Xiao Bao, I'm your father."

The two little ones gave him a wary look and tightened their grip on Lin Chuchu's hand.

"No, you're not my dad. They say dad is a bad guy."

"They said Dad doesn't want us anymore."

Young children are actually very sensitive; they will remember anything adults say to their faces.
