Chapter 410 Special Circumstances

Lin Chuchu could sense the awkward atmosphere between Captain Qin and Mu Chen.

It sounds like they had a fight, or it sounds like Mu Chen was the only one who was angry.

However, the two of them still talked and discussed things.

Lin Chuchu wouldn't care about them; the two of them would eventually get better.

Because someone came to the door in the morning, the time to go out changed to the afternoon.

Over the course of a year, Evan collected a lot of good stuff, all kinds of machines and machine tools, without anyone else noticing anything unusual.

They arrived at an abandoned factory.

“I rented this factory for five years, and told outsiders that it was used as a warehouse.”

Evan took out his key and opened the door. The factory in front of him had three floors and was very large. The first floor was where the machines were located.

Some of the machines are very old, but others are very new and have dust covers on them, so there is less dust.

Team Leader Qin and Mu Chen's eyes lit up immediately. The two of them went ahead to check, and Lin Chuchu would put the items into her spatial storage after they had looked through them.

The entire first floor was filled with them, and it was completely piled up.

Team Leader Qin patted Evan on the shoulder, "Well done. These things will be sent back to China soon, and they might be put into use very quickly."

"You are the greatest contributor, and you may even be recorded in history books in the future."

These words brought a broad smile to Evan's face, and he couldn't suppress the corners of his mouth from smiling.

He now has money, a wife and children, and a reputation; he'll be overjoyed.

Mu Chen followed behind Lin Chuchu, curled his lip, and muttered, "Hypocritical!"

Lin Chuchu heard Mu Chen's mutterings and glanced at him with amusement, wondering what Qin had done to offend him that made him have such a big problem with Mu Chen now.

After the machines on the first floor were finished, it was time for the second floor. There were also some small machines on the second floor, and the rest was a bookshelf with quite a few books on it.

“Our leader said that in addition to cultural relics, we also need a lot of books, so I’ve collected quite a few here.”

"I went to a lot of scrap metal collection sites and offered them high prices to buy books. I wanted not only books circulating in the market, but also books from schools, even handwritten copies. That's how I bought these books."

Evan said proudly, "This is the result of a year's work. I hired some people to collect books every day at the school gate or near the library. The prices are all very high."

Some people do this to make money and cover library expenses, so some books also circulate from the library.

Lin Chuchu took out a book and glanced at it. It seemed to be a school book, and it even had annotations on it.

Lin Chuchu gave Ai Wen a thumbs up, "You're really amazing!"

When praised, Evan scratched his head and chuckled sheepishly.

He simply wanted to do something for China, to let China know his capabilities, so that it would be more convenient for him to live in China in the future.

After putting away all the books in front of me, we went to the third floor. The third floor had a lot of different things, including fur, cloth, steel and other building materials.

After collecting the goods from this factory, the group was taken to two other places. These places didn't have as many items as the first one, but they still contained a variety of things.

Evan has now perfectly inherited the Chinese character: bringing back things home, anything that is even remotely useful.

After everything was done, everyone returned to the manor.

When I got home, my family was already preparing the hot pot seasoning.

The weather here is really cold, and Lin Chuchu doesn't want to go out. But she can't go out; she has to go to the library.

Fortunately, the functionality of the space has been improved once again.

With a quick glance, the space can photocopy the book and send it back to China.

Although the speed is much faster, it still takes time.

On this day, they were reading books in the library when a commotion suddenly broke out outside, followed by gunshots.

Lin Chuchu sometimes wondered if she had a constitution that attracted trouble. Why did she always encounter some kind of trouble every time she went on a mission?

Lin Chuchu and Mu Chen were ushered out by the staff. As they left the library, Qin and his team came to greet them.

"What's going on? Why is there a gunfight here?"

Mu Chen asked in a low voice.

Looking at the panicked crowd in the distance, Captain Qin said, "I don't know either, but those who were being chased have injuries. I now suspect that these people escaped from the laboratory."

Their location was right in the center of the city. Although they were hiding in a corner, they were bound to be discovered eventually.

Team Leader Qin was a little anxious. "You two use your guns to lure those people away. In 10 minutes, you can disguise yourselves and return to the manor. Be careful not to be discovered."

"Yes, Captain Qin."

Soon, Lin Chuchu was escorted back to the manor. Lin Chuchu was still worried about the people outside.

After a while, the people outside finally returned, but there was one more person with them.

This person fell into a coma and had to be carried back by others.

The man had an Asian face, was pale, and had many wounds and bloodstains on his body.

Team Leader Qin frowned.

"Who is this person? Why did you bring him back? Don't you know how dangerous we are right now?"

One of the team members knew he had made a mistake, but bit his lip as he spoke.

"This man is Chinese, and he has important information."

They accurately located the Chinese man in the crowd, and the words he uttered before fainting forced them to bring him back.

Team Leader Qin rolled his eyes; he could tell that this person was Chinese.

However, he couldn't take that risk.

He asked Evan, "Are there any abandoned houses, places with hardly any people around?"

Evan nodded. "Yes, I'll have someone take you there."

Fortunately, the person was unconscious and unaware of their location, thus reducing the risk of exposure.

Team Leader Qin had someone carry him out of the courtyard and to an old house.

The old house was dilapidated, with even the windows broken. Team Leader Qin asked the team doctor and two other people to stay behind and inquire about the situation after the person woke up.

He himself returned to Evan's manor.

As soon as he entered the house, he saw Mu Chen sitting on the sofa, looking at him expressionlessly.

Team Leader Qin walked over and sat down next to him.

"I think this matter is not so simple. I may have to send you away in the next few days."

Mu Chen sneered, "Didn't you say your primary mission was to protect Lin Chuchu? Now that you've encountered a fellow countryman who has been harmed, you're ready to get involved?"

"If you see a fellow countryman being beaten tomorrow, are you going to get involved?"

Team Leader Qin shook his head helplessly. "Under normal circumstances, I would never interfere, but I'm afraid it might endanger the country."

"Therefore, I will send you back to your country first. As for the follow-up issues, I will report to the higher-ups first."

"Besides, this is just my guess right now; it might just be an accident."
