Chapter 150 The Exchange Meeting: A Slap in the Face

This was the first time Lin Chuchu had seen her commander so angry. "Commander, what's wrong?"

The leader explained the situation: the other party had organized a car exchange meeting in about two weeks, and the leader told Lin Chuchu that this meeting would determine the direction of engine production for the next few years.

Lin Chuchu laughed in anger and earnestly assured the leader, "Don't worry, leader, I will definitely slap them in the face."

Lin Chuchu only wanted to focus on her research and never intended to interfere with anyone's interests. The other party was being so persistent because it was embarrassing to give the opportunity to an unknown junior, and also because they didn't want their apprentice to give up this chance that could go down in history.

The leader smiled and patted Lin Chuchu on the shoulder.

"Comrade Lin, well done. Time is of the essence, and we hope you can finish as soon as possible. If you need anything, please let us know."

Lin Chuchu nodded. "Yes, sir."

Lin Chuchu returned to her office, her expression serious, and told everyone about the incident.

"They've really gone too far."

Researcher Tian slammed his hand on the table, while Researcher Hou and Zhou Lichen both wore expressions of anger.

"The commander is right, we must give them a good slap in the face."

Zhou Lichen gritted his teeth and said fiercely, waving his fist as if he was about to punch someone.

After everyone had vented their anger, Lin Chuchu finally put on a serious face.

"We have ten days left to prove whether this material is suitable and to conduct experiments. Time is of the essence, so let's begin!"

They hadn't seen this material before; everything was just speculation. They didn't even know if the material was suitable.

Researcher Tian nervously swallowed. "No way? How could it possibly fail?"

"You'll know once you try."

Researcher Hou said with a solemn expression, "For this material, we offended a vice dean. If it's really not suitable, it will be a huge loss."

For the next few days, Lin Chuchu and the others never left the lab, and even when they slept at night, they would just find any bed available.

Sleeping only a few hours a day, with heavy dark circles under their eyes and unkempt appearance, you can tell how hard they work.

Not only them, but other researchers were also quietly helping out, and even volunteering to do assistant work for several of them.

On the ninth day, Lin Chuchu and the other three finally came out of the office. Lin Chuchu noticed that everyone's eyes were on her, and they even stopped what they were doing.

It's as if they're asking whether it was successful or not.

Lin Chuchu's lips curled up slightly as she looked at the somewhat nervous commander and section chief, and said with a smile, "We have successfully completed our mission."

The mere nine words were spoken as if a switch had been flipped, and the laboratory, which was so quiet you could hear a pin drop just a second ago, erupted in thunderous cheers the next.

As soon as Tian Houzhou and his men lifted the engine out, someone immediately stepped forward.

"You've worked hard, we'll take care of the rest."

"Yes, we know how to conduct the experiment."

His excited smile was barely contained, but his movements were very gentle, as if he were carrying some precious treasure.

The group was squeezed to the back, exchanged helpless glances, and had no choice but to hurry up and catch up.

When they arrived at the plaza outside, the four of them couldn't squeeze in at all. Some young researchers pushed their way forward, eager to be the first to test the speed of the new engine.

Lin Chuchu and the others found a corner to sit down and watched the group of people making a ruckus. Oh well, let them learn from them.

Just then, the commander and the section chief came over. The commander was still a little worried. "Comrade Lin, tell me, what is the speed of this engine?"

Lin Chuchu smiled and said, "Chief, you'll see the results of the experiment in a moment. I guarantee you'll be very surprised."

Well, they're keeping us in suspense now.

The leader wasn't angry at all and continued to smile.

After a while, cheers erupted from ahead, "180 mph! It's actually 180 mph! That's insane!"

"This is insane! Do you even know how many miles a foreign engine can reach?"

Everyone erupted in thunderous cheers.

The commander's hand holding the cigarette was trembling, his mind blank. "How much? How much did they say?"

When the number 180 appeared, his first thought was that he was hallucinating.

The section chief standing next to him didn't answer, because he was also stunned and had his mouth agape.

The leader threw away his cigarette and pushed his way forward.

"Make way, make way so I can see... Don't you bunch of brats ever go to work?"

The commander was indeed a high-ranking official; upon seeing him, many soldiers made way for him, and the researchers were also pulled aside.

Soon, the commander looked excitedly at the car in front of him, "Is it really 180 miles per hour?"

The soldier acting as the driver nodded, unable to hide his excitement. "Sir, it's true! Why don't you come up and experience it for yourself?"

The leader opened the car door and got directly into the passenger seat.

No, he has to experience it for himself. 180 miles per hour! Does it feel like flying when you're sitting in it?

Saying it flew by is a bit of an exaggeration, but the scenery on both sides rushed past quickly, and the car was very stable, without any bumps.

There is also a display screen next to the steering wheel, showing the speed and fuel level.

The leader stared intently at the display screen: 162...169...178...180.

180! It really is 180! The commander was as excited as if he were handling a gun for the first time.

"Tomorrow, send this car directly to the conference. I want everyone to shut up!"

I've been suffering so much lately, and only now do I feel like I've finally let it all out.

He really wanted to go and see for himself, but unfortunately he couldn't.
