Chapter 336 Night Raid

This was also Lin Chuchu's idea; things were too chaotic outside lately, so they couldn't go out.

Bored at home every day, Lin Chuchu began translating the books in her online space.

Anyway, she has plenty of paper and pens in her online space.

Lin Chuchu found something to do, and the others also found some fun things in Lin Chuchu's space.

For example, there are fitness equipment, chess sets, Go sets, and other things to pass the time. One person likes carving, so he took carving tools and wood from his space and occasionally carves small animals.

For the next few days, no one went out, so Lin Chuchu found a corner on the first floor where she translated and copied books.

The others were scattered in different places, either playing chess or busy with their own things.

Mu Chen and Captain Qin were playing chess there. Their playing styles were very similar, and they were both rather quiet. Sometimes they could play a game for an entire day.

Liu Xiaonuan was the most bored. She didn't have any hobbies, so she simply started hitting the punching bag on the side.

While I was busy, suddenly the lights above my head went out, and the room was plunged into darkness again.

"If these guys are going to fight, they should just fight. Why do they keep destroying the power lines? Every time there's a power outage, it lasts for days. These guys are really bored."

Liu Xiaonuan complained.

Lin Chuchu put the pen aside. "The citizens of Eagle Country are already used to it. I think most of them have generators."

No sooner had I finished speaking than I saw the lights come back on in my neighbor's house across the street.

"Sigh, it must be so miserable to be a citizen of their country."

Liu Xiaonuan sighed.

"They might not necessarily feel sorry for us. After all, they are high-class citizens. They might even think that we Chinese are the most miserable."

Lin Chuchu said sarcastically.

Lin Chuchu and Liu Xiaonuan were complaining there, while the others went to install the generator.

Soon, the lights in the room came back on.

Just then, a dark shadow flashed past the window.

One of the team members saw this and immediately drew his pistol.

"I just saw a dark shadow flash by, it looked like a person."

As soon as they finished speaking, Liu Xiaonuan and Mu Chen immediately shielded Lin Chuchu behind them.

The atmosphere suddenly became tense. The others also took out their pistols, walked to the door, and listened carefully for a while, but did not hear anything.

Then, the three group members went out of the room and into the yard.

They started looking around and, sure enough, found footprints under the windowsill and at the base of the wall, but didn't see anyone.

Team Leader Qin came out and asked, "How's it going? Have you found any clues?"

"He has some skills, but not too much. He's not from the military; I suspect he's a neighbor."

One of the group members answered.

Team Leader Qin frowned and instructed, "Everyone take turns keeping watch tonight, don't let anyone take advantage of the situation."

"Yes, Captain!"

Faced with this unexpected event, no one was in the mood to continue slacking off.

The entire building was re-inspected to ensure that every area was safe.

Lin Chuchu didn't want to continue copying the book, so she simply went back to her room to rest.

Mu Chen went back with them, and Liu Xiaonuan and Captain Qin, worried about them, also went to the third floor.

After washing up, Lin Chuchu lay in bed, but couldn't fall asleep.

When Mu Chen came out of the bathroom, he saw Lin Chuchu staring at the ceiling with wide eyes, showing no signs of sleepiness.

"What are you thinking about?"

Lin Chuchu sat up. "I wonder how the children are doing. Do they miss us?"

Having been away from home for so long, Lin Chuchu was homesick.

Especially wanting several children.

Mu Chen paused. Actually, he also wanted to have a few children, but he didn't want to show his feelings.

Mu Chen lay down next to her and hugged her as they lay down.

"With my parents at home, the kids won't be too noisy."

"Besides, the two of us are often away from home, and the children are already used to it."

Lin Chuchu said with a guilty look, "Ever since I joined the research institute, I've often been on missions, leaving my child with my parents and grandparents. Luckily, my parents don't say anything to me."

Mu Chen tapped her forehead with his hand, "Why are you talking to me? You are now contributing to the country, and you are your parents' pride. They are overjoyed."

Besides, Lin Chuchu earns a high salary every month, and the family shop was opened because of her. Her parents aren't unreasonable people, so how could they possibly resent Lin Chuchu?

Lin Chuchu knew this, and felt grateful to her parents and grandmother. Since getting married, her parents had doted on her like their own daughter.

They had never argued over anything, so Lin Chuchu was very grateful to her parents.

"Alright, don't think about it too much. If our mission goes smoothly, it might take a few months. Even if it takes a long time, it doesn't matter. Mom and Dad will definitely take care of things at home."

Mu Chen comforted him, "However, I never expected the mission to be so dangerous. I heard from Captain Qin that you had encountered even more dangerous missions before, and it's fortunate that you were safe and sound."

His tone was full of heartache. Ever since he learned about Chu Chu's special circumstances, he knew that the country would definitely give her an important position.

However, after personally experiencing this mission, one truly understands how difficult it was for Lin Chuchu.

“I’m actually very well protected. They do most of the work. I mainly just cooperate with them.”

There is no absolutely safe mission in the world. Lin Chuchu was very lucky to have Captain Qin and his team protecting her.

The couple talked for a long time until Lin Chuchu could no longer keep her eyes open, and then they both fell into a deep sleep.

Lin Chuchu slept until dawn. When she woke up, the person next to her was already up.

As I stepped out of the room, I saw Mu Chen and Captain Qin talking.

Seeing Lin Chuchu come out, Mu Chen smiled and said, "You're awake. Let's go have breakfast. They made porridge."

Team Leader Qin walked towards the stairwell first, followed by two people.

When they got downstairs, Lin Chuchu suddenly sensed something was wrong; the furnishings in the living room seemed to have been moved.

One of the windows was also broken.

Her heart pounded. "Were we attacked last night?"

Team Leader Qin nodded. "A few rats came last night, but we've caught them and sent them to the police station."

“The people who came yesterday were a small gang. Their hideout happened to be near us, so they’ve been keeping an eye on us.”

The other side originally thought they were a group of weak Asians, but they didn't expect them to be such a tough bunch. All the people who came yesterday were killed.

Two died, and the rest were all injured; no one escaped.

Lin Chuchu frowned, somewhat worried, and asked, "Will the Public Security Bureau cause us trouble?"

Team Leader Qin shook his head. "No, we gave them enough last time. As long as we have money, they won't make things difficult for us."

Sure enough, the team members returned at noon. Everything went smoothly, and they only had to take a few simple notes.

After all, the other party had trespassed on private property and was a member of a gang, so the police wouldn't make things difficult for them.
