Chapter 8 "Hurry up and pack up and get ready to go to the countryside"

After bringing Old Mrs. Hu to the city, Yang Aizheng fulfilled her promise to take the whole family to a restaurant to eat roast duck.

When the group returned home with their mouths full of greasy food and opened the door with their keys, they were stunned.

What about the things at home?

How come even the furniture is gone?

A thief broke in???

Yang Aizheng was the first to move. She ran into Hu Wenwen's room with a pale face. When she glanced at the northeast corner, she could see obvious marks on the floor tiles.

Her legs went limp and she collapsed to the ground.

Hu Wenwen also followed and felt dizzy.

All her stuff is gone!

So many beautiful clothes!!!

Old Mrs. Hu had long wanted to move to the city and live with her son to enjoy a better life. Today her day finally came. She was very happy, but she didn't expect to see this scene as soon as she entered the door.

Thinking about the house that was originally filled with stuff, she felt so distressed that she burst into tears.

"What a damn thief, he actually stole from my Hu family!"

Yes, if the house is so empty, it could only be caused by a thief.

"Who? Who? Who did it?" Hu Bingbing's eyes were bloodshot, and he rushed to the yard and shouted loudly: "If you dare to steal my things, I will kill you with a knife!"

The neighbors heard the noise and gathered around. When they saw the scene, they opened their mouths in disbelief.

This thief stole so cleanly!

No one thought about Qin Hanshu, because they saw it with their own eyes when Qin Hanshu left. All he took with him was a box, some bedding, a mat, a washbasin, and so on.

Hu Dayong glanced at his neighbors with a pair of angry eyes and gritted his teeth, "Who did it? Stand up!"

"Ouch!" A middle-aged woman wearing glasses screamed, "Hu Dayong, what do you mean by this? You blame us for losing something at home?"

Hu Dayong sneered, "There are more than a dozen families living in our front and back yards. Which thief could be so stealthy and take away all my furniture? Unless... it was you who did it!"

"I knew you guys disliked me, so you stole everything from my house when no one was home!"

This statement offended everyone.

Everyone started to criticize Hu Dayong.

"You should have evidence for what you say, don't just accuse others of something without any evidence."

"We are all from a good family, and everyone has enough to have!"

"Besides, you keep saying it's your family's stuff. The big house in the north belongs to the Qin family. What does it have to do with a person like you who's surname is Hu?"

"Maybe Han Shu's father couldn't bear to see you treat his daughter like this, so he came back to seek justice for his daughter!"

As soon as these words were spoken, the whole audience fell silent.

On the one hand, some people feel that this is feudal superstition and saying it out loud might cause trouble.

On the other hand, I felt that maybe this was true, otherwise why would all the things in this house disappear?

There was nothing unusual when Han Shu left in the morning. During the following half day, although there were not always people in the yard, it would take more than one or two people to move so much furniture in a short time.

The more everyone thought about it, the more they felt that it was Han Shu's father who appeared, but they didn't say it out loud anymore and just exchanged a few knowing glances with each other.

The Hu family was still skeptical, but Yang Aizheng was so scared that her face turned pale.

No one else knew the secret of that cellar except her and Han Shu's father.

So...it's really him...

Yang Aizheng's eyes rolled back and she fainted.

Old Mrs. Hu ordered Hu Wenwen to pinch Yang Aizheng's Ren Zhong quickly. After a while, the person finally woke up.

Although the person's eyes were open, he looked as if his soul had left his body, and he didn't speak or move.

Old Mrs. Hu and Hu Wenwen also started to feel uneasy.

Only Hu Dayong and Hu Bingbing were full of murderous aura and were not afraid of anything.

"I'll report this to the police and catch this thief!" Hu Dayong said fiercely to his neighbors, "If I knew who did this, I would never let him off!"

Hu Bingbing followed up and said, "We can't let him off!"

When Mrs. Hu saw the looks of her son and grandson, she calmed down a little.

While Hu Dayong was at the police station, she started cleaning the house.

No matter what, life has to go on. Fortunately, she moved all the belongings from her hometown here, otherwise she would have no place to stay tonight.

Hu Wenwen saw the rags she brought from her hometown and said unhappily, "Don't use those things. Let's buy some new ones before the cooperative closes."

Old Mrs. Hu narrowed her eyes and said, "You silly girl, do you know how to live? You bought everything new. Do you think your father's money came from the wind?"

Hu Wenwen choked and closed her mouth unwillingly.

If the house had not been ransacked and Yang Aizheng had not looked so distraught, she would not have opened her mouth to Old Mrs. Hu.

Hu Wenwen was unhappy, and she became even more unhappy when she thought about all her beautiful clothes being gone.

But she didn't know that the most dizzying thing was yet to come.

The family got together for one night, and the next day Hu Dayong was still thinking about buying some new things, at least basic furniture.

He stretched out his hand to Yang Aizhen, "Give me three hundred yuan first, and I'll go find Ge Laosan to make a set of furniture."

Yang Aizheng feels better today, but still feels dazed.

It took her a long time to react, and she shook her head gently, "I don't have any money."

Han Shu's father's pension had been almost spent, and she was going to find a chance to take out the passbook from the cellar, but...

Yang Aizhen shuddered.

She couldn't think about this matter, as it made her feel spooky!

Hu Dayong narrowed his eyes.

Although he didn't know what Yang Aizheng was hiding from him, judging from Yang Aizheng's usual attitude towards money, he was sure that this woman had some private money behind his back.

But Yang Aizhen didn't seem to be lying at this time.

Could it be that her private belongings were also stolen by the thief?

Hu Dayong looked at Yang Aizheng suspiciously for a while, let her go for the time being, and turned to ask Old Mrs. Hu for money.

Although Mrs. Hu was reluctant, she dared not disobey her son. She felt pained after giving the money, so she could only glare at Yang Aizhen.

This bastard is so stingy, he needs to be taught a lesson!

Hu Wenwen paused, and said to Hu Dayong coquettishly, "Dad, I have run out of clothes. I need to make two sets of clothes to change into."

Hu Dayong frowned, but before he could say anything, a voice came from outside.

"Is Hu Wenwen at home?"

The person who came was a middle-aged woman in her forties, wearing a red armband from the street office.

The woman's expression was very kind, but the words she said made Hu Wenwen feel as if she was falling into an ice cellar.

"......Other educated youth have gone to the vast countryside to show their talents, but Hu Wenwen's awareness needs to be improved. Besides, it's not a good idea for her to wander around in the city like this...Hurry up and pack up and get ready to go to the countryside..."
